It's been a while since I have been active on this account. I think this will become my general fandom account rather than me trying to separate all my interests out. So, this blog is going to be where I talk about things of interest so that floats between movies, books, kpop (music in general), and manga (I rarely watch anime but will talk about the ones I have seen).
As for my basic info, I am currently in law school (whoop whoop maybe). When it comes to kpop, the groups that have stuck with me are skz, day6, LUCY, and itzy. I am currently going through a big phase with red velvet. I like NCT but not necessarily groups (more like members) but generally will tune in for a 127 or dream comeback. My comfort idols continue to be lee know and sunghoon.
In terms of other media, I love love love horror movies and am currently on a big thing for Jaws n Alien. My all-time favorite franchise might be Resident Evil or Final Destination though.
For what kind of content I will be posting/reblogging on here. It will be fanart of all kinds, maybe fics (I read significantly less for kpop these days), and maybe social media aus.
This will be acting as a blog so you'll get lots of text posts and opinions shared. I think I may also share my fic ideas cause I am trying to be more creative. Might share art or links to my fics if I gain some confidence!
That's all for now folks (love the looney toons). Â Â

been a while since i wrote, might be rusty buuuuuut this song had a hold on me that i couldnât resist aaaaa who knows maybe pt 2,, let me know if you want one! hahaha hope youâre all well :)
I don't think I will tag this post in a way that I would like anyone in the fandom to interact with because these are my thoughts and folks are really ugly to those wanting to share.
Unfortunately, I have not looked into reading the official release of the extra chapter because once I got confirmation that Bakugou's ending was unfortunate as it was shown...I couldn't bring myself to see that again. BKDK was a big ship for me for the last four years and it is unfortunate that this non-canon/kinda-canon ending was shared when it clearly wasn't something fully fleshed out (in my eyes) for Izuku's character, despite him being our protagonist.
It was bleak for so many reasons, whether you view it from a thematic perspective of change and growth (we actually see hero society not really change and if anything it seems unrealistically stagnant given the events that had occurred) or through characters (Ocha's being diminished last minute, Himiko being used to push forward an underdeveloped ship, almost all the villains dying for no real purpose besides suffering as victims of the terrible society that wouldn't recognize their needs), or through relationships (platonic or romantic). Sorry for the ridiculously long sentence.
I am disappointed as a fan generally and I won't sit on a high horse acting like my ship wasn't impacted. At this point, I can only view bkdk from a more angsty perspective because a new ending I had never considered has been presented so the romance is dead unless there is more development that is done by fans (which feels like an unfair burden when I know that Horikoshi could have done something more because we've seen a wonderfully developed relationship between bkdk previously). I can kinda see them platonically now, but Bakugou means so much to me that I'd like to see supposed growth where his childhood dream is not gone, but changed to revolve around himself as he reconnects and meets folks post-Izuku rejection.
Won't say much more despite having so many thoughts as a queer reader of the series. Just know that it kinda fucking sucks, but as a whole I will sing praises for other parts of the series.

the studio is a small white room. there are two seats in the middle of it. thereâs minimal lighting in the room. the crew stands in silence, watching the interview unfold.
two people enter, flashing a knowing smile at each other and take a seat.
and so, the interview with your ex begins as the camera starts rolling.

⥠huh yunjin ïč gender neutral!idol!reader, kinda implied lsf 6th member!reader genre fluff, a tiny bit of angst/slice of life warnings secret relationship, i never explicitly mention fem reader but it is slightly implied with the 6th reader + implied homophobia, several taylor swift references and one very very vague beabadoobee reference lol note if youâre new here, i dont (normally) write for lsf but ive been waiting for this song to come out and it finally did so here this is very self indulgent lol. takes place in an alternate universe where there was a kcon in france for kcon europe đ€·ââïž also no i didnt look up time differences in korea and france ( library )
âWow, this place is even more beautiful in person,â you hum, latching onto Yunjinâs free hand with your own that wasnât preoccupied holding your small backpack. It was night time in Paris, France, by the time you and the other girls arrived. The next day would be Kcon, which you were excited to see the other idol groups perform, even a few of your favorites were there.
The black haired girl couldnât help but smile at the content look on your face, trying her hardest to resist the urge to squeeze your cheeks and kiss you senseless. She was well aware of the cameras focused on the two of you, and forced herself to subtly slide her hand out of yours. It seemed the media never stopped working, either.
Glancing at her, you ignore her action before following behind Chaewon as she begins to lead the rest of you to the company car. As usual, the two of you pile in the car last, lagging behind for the other girls to get in before you. Chaewon sits in the passenger seat while Eunchae and your manager sit in the front row and Sakura and Kazuha in the middle row.
As the car begins to roll forward, your head leans on her shoulder as Eunchae began filming a video on a camera for the experience. Yunjin doesnât pay the camera any mind, knowing everything but Eunchae would be blurred out in the final cut, and you two probably werenât even in the shot, anyway. In the privacy of the car with the members, she intertwines her fingers with yours, laying them in your lap. Her head turns, lips brushing against the inside of your wrist where the tattoo of the moon was before she leans her head back on yours. Her free hand feels the smoothness of her own wrist where her sun tattoo was.
With you falling asleep on her, she was able to put in her earbuds and put her playlist on shuffle. One of her favorites, Paper Rings, started to play and she smiled slightly but genuinely, immediately being reminded of youâ and the dream she had of you last night.
Normally, she could never remember her dreams but this one, she immediately wrote it down when she woke up. Maybe it was a vision, or a version of you and her in another universe, she didnât know. But she remembered the feeling of nervousness and anticipation as she kneeled down in front of you, the ecstasy when you said yes, and the comfort and love she felt for you for the rest of your lives.
While the dream did make her want to kick her feet and giggle like a kid, it made her die a little inside because she knew sheâd never be able to have that with you. Not when the world was the way it was. Neither of you would ever have a career again, you wouldnât be able to do the things you loved like you were doing right now. And yeah, she loved performing and singing, she loved the fans, she loved the girls, her life couldnât be more perfectâ but she was pretty sure she loved you more than anything else.
It got her thinking as she got ready for the flight to France, that maybe she could indulge in her dreams a bit, even if it was just nonsense talking. She just wants to know that you feel the same way, too. That youâre in this for the long run, just like her.
The thought remains in her head for the rest of the ride to the hotel, dodging fans waiting in the front of the hotel as you head in through the back. Like usual, you and Yunjin are roommates. Taking the key card with a smile, the other girls watch you two rush off with childish giggles leaving your mouths.
Itâs not until the two of you are laying in the queen sized bed that she brings it up. Sheâs playing with a strand of your hair, trying to focus on you as you ramble on about all the things you want to do while in Paris. She knows she should focus, but all she can think about is her dream and that damn Taylor song. Goddamn Taylor and her musical ability.
âJen,â your soft touch to her jaw makes her eyes snap towards yours, and she goes to hold it, keeping your hand there. âWhatâs wrong? Youâve been distant all day.â
âNothingâs wrong,â she shakes her head, shuffling closer to you as one of your legs intertwined with hers. âJust been thinking.â
âAbout?â You playfully press, raising brows like you knew the answer already. She wouldnât be surprised if you did.
Yunjin laughs, âAbout a thing or two.â She presses a clumsy kiss to what she hoped were your lips in the dark, but manages to miss and kiss your chin. âSorry.â
âDonât be,â you murmur, eyes glancing down at her lips, âA kiss is a kiss.â
A comfortable silence follows, just staring at each other before she speaks up, âI had a dream last night. An epiphany, if you will.â She slide glances at you, âEureka!â The two of you burst into giggles, before she sobers up quickly, continuing her train of thought before she lost the confidence, âAnd it was a really, really good dream. Itâs like my number one wish.â
You smile, âYeah? What happened? Did you do a collab with Taylor Swift? I had a dream like that once.â
âWe got married,â she quickly rushes out before she can talk herself out of it. Your silence makes her heart ache, but what did she really expect?
âWhat was the wedding like?â Whatever she expected you to sayâ was not that.
Her mouth opens and closes at your question, feeling her heart warm at the expectant, loving look on your face. You didnât shy away from her, or close off, like she expected. It was like you wanted it, too. She smiles shyly, tracing shapes on the back of your hand, âGood music. We looked really good. We danced to Lover,â she laughs, and you did, too. âAll of our friends were there. Family, too. Lots of flowers, pastel colors. I cry during my vows. You cry, too. Just a bunch of snot and tears. I loved it.â
âSo do I,â you whisper, eyes seemingly glistening in the dark.
Yunjinâs eyes search yours for something, and when she finds it, she says without hesitation, âLetâs get married in Vegas.â
You smile a mixture of bashfulness and sadness, âI wish.â
âWe donât really need anyone else,â she murmurs, scooting closer to you, your noses almost touching now. âNo guest list. Just you and me.â
âWhose last name would we take?â You whisper quietly, closing your eyes to imagine it.
She keeps her eyes open, staring straight at you unwaveringly, âAnyoneâs. I donât care, we can keep our last names, or combine, just as long as youâre mine and Iâm yours.â
âIâm yours and youâre mine with or without a piece of paper, baby,â you smile, opening your eyes back open to fiddle with her necklace.
Yunjinâs smile grows bigger as yours does, both of you leaning in at the same time to press your lips together in a soft but meaningful kiss. You linger a second after you pull back, scattering small kisses over her face and making her laugh slightly.
âI think Chaewon would kill us if we even tried to elope,â you pull back, laughing at the memory of the leader yelling. âLike she did when we got those matching tattoos without telling anyone last year.â God, the tweets about the tattoos were hilarious. âBut itâs a fun thought.â
âIâll save it for our Pinterest board,â Yunjin grins when your eyes dart to hers in a bit of shock. She laughs, âWhat?â
âYou have a Pinterest board for us?â Your voice is soft as you ask, finding it endearing. She sheepishly nods, and you laugh softly, pressing a kiss to her nose, âCute. I wanna see.â
Sheâs hesitant to agree, but with quick thinking on her feet, she manages to grab your attention with, âWait, after I make you a ring out of paper.â She sits up, hastily pulling her bag over to her for a piece of paper. She seems to serious and into her task that it makes you giggle a bit, making her brows relax as she glances up away from her bag. âWhat? I know itâs not an actual ring, butââ
You cut her off by curling your fingers around the collar of her shirt, pulling her down to you with a large âumph!â leaving her mouth as she crashes down into your body. She goes to push herself up but you grab her face, pulling her lips to yours and she easily stops, leaning all of her weight on you and deepening the kiss. Your hand trails to the back of her head, smoothing it down until your finger wraps a strand of her hair around your finger. You pull back, a string of saliva connecting you to her like an invisible red string of fate.
You grin, swiping the string away with a finger, âIâm so stupid in love with you, Jennifer. Youâd be the crazy one to think Iâd say no.â
âEveryone thinks youâre the crazy one, actually,â she murmurs, shaking her head lightly before pulling you in for another kiss. âGuess weâre the perfect pair, huh?â

tell me, do you view me the same or do you call me a stranger?
"leave a bit after me so no one sees."
haechan is popular â without a doubt one of the most popular artists of your time. everyone either wants to be him or be with him, to which you completely understand. everything about him screams someone who was born to be on a stage, stealing hearts and whatnot. with such a bright personality, it was almost impossible to not like him.
you've had the privilege of getting to watch haechan grow from singing songs he wrote in his bedroom on youtube to him performing them in sold out shows. you're a fan, of course, but somewhere along the way â with crazy luck â you've wiggled your way into his life and into his heart. the two of you were music artists wishing on every star for some kind of breakthrough to the industry (take a guess on who got it). naturally, it brought you together. you were there when haechan reached 5,000 subscribers, and you were still there when he was selling out shows to 50,000 people. you've stuck by his side for so long that you're sure that its where you fit best.
in the moment, however, you're not so sure anymore.
"leave a bit after me so no one sees."
the small smile on your face slowly disappears at haechan's words and hurt quickly settles into your chest. "...why? what would be so bad about that?"
haechan seems unable to grasp how upset you are at his words. he shakes his head with a small laugh. "it's not like that, y/n. but a scandal at this time wouldn't be good."
"a scandal?" you scoff slightly. "since when have you ever cared about that?"
he sighs and runs a hand through his hair that's still slightly wet from his post-performance sweat. "i just don't want to take any risks right now. especially since my album is coming out soon. you understand, right?"
"i fly all the way out here to see you, and you don't want to be seen with me?" you say with a trembling lip and a weak voice. you're hurt and you're angry, but can't seem to keep your tears at bay.
"i didn't say that."
"you might as well have," you spit back at him.
"let's talk about this later, okay? trust me, it would be a lot worse for you than it would for me." haechan picks up his bag and swings it over his shoulder, making his way towards the backstage exit door.
frozen in place overwhelmed with emotion, you watch your boyfriend open the door. you think he's had a change of heart when he pauses at the door and turns back to you, but somehow he's managed to hurt you even more.
"maybe you should take these too," he says, placing the bouquet you made him back into your hold. the smell of roses and sunflowers taking over your senses as more tears well up in your eyes. you hope the flowers hide them from haechan's gaze. though, you're not so sure he'd notice anyway, as he'd already let the door close and left you behind.

'cause, baby, i don't care about the fame
people talk. as an upcoming music artist, you're aware that people talk. as the (hidden) girlfriend of a global superstar, you're more than aware that people love to talk about anything and everything that doesn't concern them.
you and haechan aren't on the same level of fame â not that it matters to you. it never mattered to you, really. even as haechan grew and grew and you remained with your significantly smaller (but still decent) following, fame was never your strongest desire.
yet, now, you're wondering that maybe if you were just a bit more famous, more popular, more well known, then you wouldn't feel as far away from haechan as you do right now. even as he sits beside you on the king bed of the luxury suite he booked for this stop of his tour, you feel further away from him then ever.
"i mean, what would people say about us, y/n? about you?"
"you keep saying that, hyuck, but you're not explaining it to me," you say, growing frustrated with him. "why is it just about me?"
he purses his lips before averting his gaze to the floor. "they'll say nasty stuff about you â that you're using me for fame, or money, or something like that."
you shake your head. "but you and i both know that's not true. we've been together for how many years now? their words shouldn't matter." you take hold of his hand and rub your thumb against his knuckles. "you could have nothing and i'd still be here."
"people don't know that," he scoffs. "they'll assume the worst about you."
maybe he's right â you're sure they will assume the worst about you regardless of your long, deep history with haechan. would he start to believe them? you think it, but you donât ask â too afraid of the answer you might receive.
"what are you so afraid of?" you ask him softly, begging him with your mind for him to look at you.
but he doesn't, his eyes stayed trained on the ground and he can only weakly squeeze your hand that holds onto his own.
"i don't know."

tell me, why i don't play about you
every song is about you
haechan finally has a short break in between the legs of his tour and he chooses to spend every waking moment of it with you.
things between the two of you have felt rocky for a while. it makes haechan ashamed to say it, but he's been so focused on tour and his new album that he's pushed everything else to the side. he's a perfectionist and he feels like he's barely made it â he wants everything to work out perfectly and is committed to making sure that happens. he's not sure how long he's been brushing off anything non-career related, but he misses you â even if you're with him.
he flys the two of you out to a small, quaint place in kyoto where he finally gets to enjoy some peace and quiet in his life. he chooses to turn off his phone, not too keen with the idea of his manager berating him about all his responsibilities he'll have to tend to when he gets back. he's on vacation and he's here with you: the one person who's been with him through every up and down.
you're laying in his arms and haechan misses you to the point where it hurts â when was the last time he laid with you like this? the revelation urges him to pull you closer, placing a soft kiss to the crown of your head as you lay on his chest. he sighs into your hair, breathing all of you in. it's silent, for the most part, until you ask a question that rattles haechan's being.
"why do you not sing about me?" you ask it so softly that haechan almost misses it.
"what? what are you talking about?" he's genuinely confused as to what you mean. who do you think he sings about?
"i know a handful of your old old songs are about me, but you don't perform those anymore," you murmur into his chest. "ah, don't mind me, i'm just talking."
you sound embarrassed and defeated and haechan wants to cry. did you really not know? how long has he been pushing you away?
"y/n, every single song i write is about you," haechan professes. "i couldn't write about anyone else if i tried."
his words shock you, even if they shouldn't. you tilt your head up to look up at him and he looks down at you with the softest gaze.
"not that i ever would, anyway," he continues, a sad smile painting his face.
"you mean it?" you whisper to him, wanting so badly to believe him.
when haechan's resolve breaks and his eyes glaze over, you know he means it. his hold on you tightens with one hand and the other comes up to caress your cheek, swiping a tear you didn't even know had fallen.
"of course," he croaks. "you're my muse, y/n. you."
this time, you're wiping his tears away as he cries and cries into your palms. you shift the two of you so that he lies in between your legs, arms wrapped around your waist and face buried into your torso, your hands running through his hair. he's apologizing over and over and doesn't say why, but you know why. you regret ever doubting haechan's love for you â even if he was to blame.
but, just as you're certain you love him more than anything, you know that haechan loves you back all the same.
"it's always been you, y/n."
âąÂ°. *àż
and everybodyâs shouting out your name
âyou look too handsome to be pouting like that, you know,â you tease lightly, approaching haechan to adjust his tie fondly.
he canât help but smile at you as you do so, his hands easily finding their place around your waist, tugging you close. âif you tell me to stay, i will.â
you sigh and place your hands upon his chest, allowing you to push yourself up to place a soft kiss on his lips. his lips trail after yours once you pull away and he pouts at you again, eyes begging for another kiss but you push him back ever so slightly.
âyou canât miss this, hyuck, you know that. this could be really big for you!â you beam, swiping a bit of your lip gloss off of his lips. âsome important people might be there.â
âbut you wonât be there,â he whines. âwhatâs the point?â
you roll your eyes playfully. âyouâll be fine. now go, your manager has been waiting.â haechan sighs and leans down to place one more kiss on your lips.
you pull away before he can get carried away. âgo! and put a good word in for me with taeyong, yeah?â
haechan rolls his eyes but smiles at you, pecking you on the cheek as he bids you farewell. âno promises.â
itâs barely been over an hour and haechan wants to leave.
normally heâs able to tolerate these sorts of things â the bright lights, loud music, snobby people all trying to one up each other. he can get by and chat with anyone as if heâs known them for years. typically, events like these breeze by for haechan. why was he hating every second of it?
itâs lee taeyongâs end of year celebration party. of course, as his junior, haechan was invited. heâs grateful that heâs made friends with lots of other artists under his company, otherwise haechan would have been long gone within the first 45 minutes of arriving. but, haechan stays, mostly because he admires taeyong and does, in fact, bring up you and your songs â which, to his surprise, taeyong says he knows you and enjoys your music.
haechan isnât given the chance to talk more, unfortunately, due to an excited kim jungwoo who locks an arm around haechanâs shoulder and drags him away.
âow â hyung! i was in the middle of a conversation!â haechan grits to jungwoo, lightly shoving his arm off of him.
âmy bad, it looked like you needed saving,â jungwoo chuckles. âcome on, everyoneâs been looking for you.â
jungwoo leads haechan to a small circle of people to which haechan knows as his small circle of friends: mark, his company's beloved canadian rapper; johnny suh, one of seoul's most popular djs; and of course there's kim jungwoo, kim doyoung, and jeong jaehyun who make up dojaejung, korea's heartthrob boy group.
"yo, where have you been?" mark greets him excitedly, lightly slapping him on the shoulder playfully.
"what do you mean 'where have i been', i saw you yesterday, mark," haechan grumbles.
"woah, someone needs a drink," johnny chuckles. doyoung is quick to hand haechan a glass of champagne.
haechan takes a large gulp, hopefully to ease whatever tension he feels in his shoulders. he's trying to enjoy the party, he really is, but all he wants to do is come home to you.
"everything okay?" doyoung asks him, concerned with the way haechan seems to be downing his drink.
the younger boy sighs. "yeah, i'm fine, sorry. just stressed out."
"oh, your album is coming out soon, right?" jungwoo remembers, nudging haechan with his elbow. "congratulations!"
the rest of the boys congratulate him and haechan can only half-heartedly reply despite being very grateful.
"i'm sure it'll be great," johnny reassures him.
"saw a lot of love songs on that track list," jungwoo teases. "got a special someone?"
haechan stills at his words and he's caught in an argument with himself. does he mention you? does he say no? is this how he wants people to find out youâre together? before he can even reply, though, jaehyun cuts in.
"speaking of, i heard that kim minjeong has had her eye on you for a while, haechan," jaehyun says. he raises his eyebrows at the younger boy and haechan gulps, the rest of his friends nudging him playfully as they coo at him.
"that's the model, right? and singer?" doyoung asks. "you should talk to her!"
haechan feels like he's going to be sick. maybe he's being dramatic â its not like they're shoving him into minjeong's face and asking him to profess his love. still, he feels like he's betraying you in some way and he realizes he has to go home.
"i can talk you up, probably," mark says. "we're normally at the studio at the same time."
âi heard that shin ryujin has been talking about you, too,â johnny pipes in. âhonestly, who hasnât been talking about you? iâm surprised youâve done nothing about it.â
doyoung hums. âshe seems like your type, donghyuck! i know some people over at ââ
"no! no, don't â " haechan places his champagne glass onto a nearby table abruptly and sighs shakily. "just...don't. sorry, i-i don't feel well. i should go."
confused and concerned eyes watch haechan as he rushes towards the nearest exit. he doesn't bother saying goodbye to taeyong, but makes a mental note to send him an apologetic note tomorrow. haechan sees kim minjeong catch sight of him, and he's sure she's about to make an attempt to stop him to chat with the way she looks at him with a flirty gaze. haechan is quick to turn in the opposite direction and flees out of the nearest door.
haechan's manager comes out soon behind him, frenzied after trying to catch up to a frantic haechan. he doesn't get the chance to ask the latter if he's okay, too occupied with calling their driver upon haechan's request.
"home," he chokes out. he's out of breath and he feels dizzy â whether its from the champagne or from guilt, he's unsure.
"i want to go home."
âąÂ°. *àż
i'm in the crowd, can you see my hand?
haechan has reached the encore of his final show of his tour, yet he still feels a pressure that he cannot explain.
its not from all of his seniors and friends that attended in support of him, he knows that. it's not from the different producers and music artists that flew to seoul for him, either. its a pressure that weighs on his chest that has made him feel unsatisfied with each stage, despite putting 150% effort in everything.
the crowd is going crazy for him after he delivers his final ment, and he takes a moment to soak in it all, in hopes it would give him some peace of mind.
then, his eyes finally spot you.
you, in the back row of some random section, sitting with your manager, with a banner with his name on it and a headband with bear ears perched on top of your head. he doesn't know if you can tell that he's staring right at you, but you start waving around the banner with excitement. haechan can't help but adore you even more than he already does.
time stops for him as he realizes that you're here. through thick and thin you've always been there â what has haechan ever done for you? he hasn't given you even a sliver of what you deserve, yet you've never left him. you stayed when he was a nobody, and even now when he's been terribly selfish, you let him be.
there are thousands of other hands waving at him, but haechan can only see yours.
"actually," haechan starts, quickly silencing the crowd. "there's one more thing i wanted to say."
from your seat, you feel your heartbeat quicken. haechan is still standing and looking into your direction and you know he sees you.
"there's someone very special to me that's here tonight."
your heart stops as you realize what he's doing and you can't help but glance at your manager in a panic. fans around you are murmuring in confusion since haechan had already given a shoutout to his guests.
"they've been by my side since i was writing silly love songs in my childhood bedroom," haechan says, a fond smile taking over his features. "i wrote those love songs about them then, and i still write every love song about them now."
the gasps and shocked noises at his confession fall upon deaf ears â to you, you and haechan are the only two people in the world.
"some of you may know her â she's an amazing music artist as well. far better than me, in my opinion, but maybe i'm a bit biased." haechan sees you laugh and can't help but chuckle too.
"my girlfriend, y/n, is here tonight, and i couldn't be more grateful. wave, y/n!" haechan calls out to you. surprisingly, the camera cuts to you as you wave shyly, hiding behind your haechan banner. even more surprising, the crowd cheers loudly for you.
"isn't she cute?" haechan asks. he's delighted when he sees and hears the rest of the stadium agree.
haechan finally feels that weight lift from off of his chest and he feels like he can breathe. he's happy â ecstatic, even â now that the world finally knows he's yours.
"y/n, you once asked me what i was afraid of, and i said i didn't know," haechan recalls gently. "but i know now." he purses his lips to prevent himself from choking up.
"you've always been so supportive of everything i've done. you've done so much for me and i'm not sure how i could ever repay you." haechan sucks in a sharp breath. "i'm afraid that i'll never truly deserve you."
the crowd coos and some fans in front of you turn around to look at you. you're a mess: tears are streaming down your face, and your hands are shaking. you hide pathetically behind your banner again as your manager wraps a comforting arm around your shoulder.
"i'm sorry for making you wait." haechan puts a hand over his heart, and you do the same. "i love you."
the camera cuts to you again and haechan glances at the monitor to get a better look at you as you mouth something back. haechan doesn't even attempt to conceal his smile or to hold back his tears. there's no use.
"i love you, too."

say what you want, this is true romance
âdid you really have to mention that, hyuck?â
your boyfriend settles next to you on the couch, arm draping over your shoulder, as you scroll through his recent interview with vogue korea.
you pout at him and he's unable to stop the smile that takes over his face. he pinches your cheek and you quickly swat his hand away.
"what? what did i say?" he rests his chin on your shoulder to read the article for himself.
"i mean, does the public really have to know about me crying on our first date?" you complained. you continued scrolling and laughed as you read. "in what context would you ever have to tell vogue about our matching crayon shin-chan pajama pants?"
haechan laughs and presses a kiss to your shoulder. "honestly, i don't remember half of what i said during this interview. or any of what they asked me." he tugs you a little closer to him so that you're leaning against him, laying the two of you down. "all i know is that i'm pretty sure i started talking about you so much that they just called it a day."
"you're that obsessed with me, huh?" you teased.
haechan scoffs, wrapping both of his arms around you tightly. "obviously."
he watches you open instagram and sees you check the likes on your new post. he gasps dramatically, loosening one arm around you to snatch his phone from his pocket. "you posted?! where was my post notification?" he whines cutely.
he's a little too quick to find your account and he then quadruple clicks the picture to give it a like. "babe, why are your comments off? i was about to get really out of pocket," haechan whines again.
"okay, first, don't do that, please. save some of your dignity," you scold him. "but its because people are mean," you admit softly.
haechan's eyebrows furrow together and his tone stiffens. "who? what did they say?"
you sigh. "no one specific, don't worry. some people are just not too keen about us. your predictions were right, i guess," you attempt to joke, but it only makes haechan upset.
"here, come here," haechan beckons you up with him as he sits up. you're still under one of his arms, which he locks around your neck as he tugs you into his side. you're caught off guard, but lean into him anyway, arms wrapped around his torso. haechan lifts his phone up and takes selfies of the two of you, cheeks pressed together as you both smile uncontrollably.
you're both giggling like two high schoolers fresh into a relationship and you've never felt more happy and in love in your life. haechan presses wet kisses against your cheek before you eventually push his face away. still, he steals one more kiss from you â this time on your lips â and you let him.
"okay, i'm posting all of these," haechan declares casually, leaning back against the couch.
your eyes widen and you reach for his phone in an attempt to stop him, but haechan has already dodged you and raised his hand up. "hyuck, don't."
"why not? i'm in love with you, people just have to deal with it," he shrugs. "anyone who has a problem with us can get blocked."
you fall onto haechan's chest and he gladly wraps you up in his arms again. "you're stupid, but i love you."
"good, because i just posted it."
you peer up at haechan's phone and you see that he was true to his word. all of the selfies you just took piled into one singular post to which haechan captioned 'my heart'. you watch as he scrolls through the comments and blocks anyone with anything bad to say.
"wow, you weren't kidding," you say, amused.
"'course not. these people need to learn true romance." he leans down to kiss you one more time, this time letting the kiss linger. he pulls away but rests his forehead against yours, staring at you with eyes full of love. "i love you, too, by the way."
haechan is popular â without a doubt, he's one of the most sought after guys in the industry. he's confident, charismatic, and he's bright. he's everyone's dream guy, it's no secret.
but, above all, he's yours, and you're his as well. he has devoted his heart and life to you and its not a secret to anyone anymore.
this time around, haechan wraps you up in his scarf to protect you from the cold before the two of you leave.
"i already have a scarf on, hyuck, just keep yours," you mumble from underneath the thick fabric.
haechan doesn't hear you (not just because he literally can't) because he's too focused on zipping up your jacket and tugging your beanie over your ears.
"okay," he says as he intertwines a hand in yours. he clutches the bouquet you made for him proudly in his other arm while he carries your bag and his own over his shoulder. "let's go home!"
its bittersweet as you realize how familiar yet different the situation is. you clutch haechan's hand tighter as he tugs you towards the backstage exit door, outside where the press and his fans are waiting.
he doesn't hide you anymore. no, instead haechan shows you off proudly and wholeheartedly as if it was what he was meant to do.

synopsis: When your best friend Minho returns to town four years after disappearing off the face of the earth youâre a little less than excited about it. Feeling heart broken and betrayed you refuse his attempt at reconciliation. Thatâs until you discover the real reason why he left all those years ago.
warnings: no major warnings, implied smut but nothing explicit, angst, best friends to almost lovers to lovers, happy ending
They say if you love someone, let them go and if they return to you it was meant to be. If they donât, well, their love was never truly yours to begin with.
You hadnât been the one to let go, not willingly anyway.
Minho had told you he loved you and then days later he was gone. There wasnât a trace of him to be found besides crumpled bed sheets and a photo of the two of you beneath his pillow. He had up and left his shared apartment without so much of a word to you or to his roommates.
No one knew where he went. There were no calls, no texts, no letters. There was nothing to tell any of you what had happened.
You had been the most heartbroken out of all of them. Many years of your life were spent pining after Minho. You watched him fall in love and get his heart broken while you stood by and waited for the day he would see you as more than just a friend. Then finally, many years and another horrible breakup later, he had finally uttered a confession you had yearned to hear.
âIâm tired of pretending to love other people when all my heart wants is you.â
Those words had continued to haunt you.
None of your lives had been the same without him. Hyunjin had lost his dance mentor. Chan and Changbin had lost their roommate and youâyou had lost the love of your life.
The four of you had tried to contact anyone that might know what happened to him; old childhood friends and family members alike, only to be met with the same answer.
No one knew where he had goneâor rather no one would tell you where he had gone.
Now four grueling years have passed.
You had already gone through all of the stages of grief and then repeated them all over again. You felt numb in his absence. It was hard at first to go about your day-to-day life without him. For so long he had been your other halfâboth as a friend and a loverâthat to not have him by your side felt wrong.
You felt empty.
Minho had been the only man you ever loved and the one you had lost. You had no idea where he had gone, but no matter how confused and hurt you were, you still wanted him to come back to you.
One night you found yourself outside of your friendâs apartment, scuffing your shoes against the welcome mat as you waited for one of them to open the door.
The warm summer days had soon turned into crisp autumn nights and while you often found yourself appreciating the cold every now and then you could practically smell the popcorn wafting from their apartment calling your name. Your stomach gurgled at the buttery smell, hearing shuffling behind the door before it was being pulled open. Butter and spice hit you instantly, a mix that you didn't ever find yourself thinking youâd like but somehow you didnât mind if it was coming from Changbin.
âHey,â he greets you, stepping aside so that you can make your way into the apartment.
A shiver wracks through your body as the warmth envelopes you.
âSorry for leaving you outside. Chan almost burnt down the kitchen right before you arrived.â
âIâM NOT THE ONE WHO LEFT THE POPCORN OVER THE OPEN FLAME AND WALKED OFF,â you hear Chan yell from the kitchen.
You watch Changbin roll his eyes before crossing his arms over his chest.
âAlways trying to blame me,â he huffs.
Then his eyes shift to you, a soft pout forming on his lips.
âYou know Iâm innocent donât you Y/n?â
That damn pout. Seo Changbin was really too cute for his own good.
Before you can say anything, Chanâs popping his head around the cornerâfixing you both with a glare.
âYou,â he points at Changbin.
âGo clean up your mess.â
âAnd you,â his eyes soften when they meet your gaze, making his way towards you before wrapping his arms around you.
âGo get comfy on the couch. You look like youâve had a long day,â he says as he pulls back, gently ruffling your hair before dragging Changbin to the kitchen by his earâresulting in a whine from the other.
A giggle slips past your lips as you watch the two of them go.
Shortly after, the three of you are wholed up in the living roomâbowls of popcorn in laps and on the coffee table laughing at some cheesy movie Chan has picked out to watch. Itâs not long after the movie is over that Changbin gets a call from Jisung, asking him to come down to the studio.
âIâm sorry I have to bail on our movie date Y/n,â Changbin pouts before bending down to give you a hug.
âUh Iâm literally right here,â your eldest friend mumbles.
You giggle at Chanâs pout.
âItâs alright. Be safe, okay?â
Changbin nods before clapping Chan on the shoulder and making his way out of the apartment.
Chan raises an eyebrow at you before nodding towards the door that Changbin had just exited through.
âShould I be jealous?â
You roll your eyes as you pull your knees to your chest.
âOf what? Me being nice?â
Chan laughs.
âThat seemed a little more than nice to me Y/n.â
You frown at him, turning your attention to the credits still rolling on the screen.
âYou know itâs not like that,â you mumble, a mop of brown hair and catlike eyes flashing through your mind.
âIâm sorry I was just messing aroundâ.â
âItâs fine. You donât have to apologize.â
You meet his gaze which has softened significantly.
âI like Changbin.â
Chan nods as he plays with the edge of the popcorn bowl.
âBut I donât think it can ever be anything more than just that. At least not right now.â
Silence passes over the two of you momentarily.
âYou still love him.â
It wasnât a question but a simple statement that had your chest tightening. You nodded before leaning back against the couch.
âI donât think Iâll ever stop.â
You didnât say much else. You wanted to but there was nothing left to say. It had been four years and you still couldnât bring yourself to go any further than the living room of their apartment. As much as you loved Jisung you couldnât accept that Minhoâs old room had been taken over by him.
Sometimes it felt like his existence had just been your mind playing tricks on you.
As the world moved on you still couldnât and you were scared that you never would.
âAre we still on for Friday,â Chan asks, changing the subject to which you were grateful.
You shrugged as you grabbed a handful of popcorn from the bowl propped on his lap.
âIâm not sure Channie. You know parties arenât really my thing.â
âI know butâbut we are celebrating your promotion,â he added suddenly before shoving some of the popcorn into his mouth.
âSo you have to come!â
You cocked an eyebrow at his seemingly innocent expression.
âNow itâs celebrating my promotion? With people who donât even know I exist?â
Chan shot you a sheepish smile.
âThatâs not true. You know some of them!â
You rolled your eyes before reaching out to take another handful of popcorn but Chan held the bowl out of your reach.
âChanâ.â
âIâll make sure the fridge is stocked with your favorite drink,â he tried, bottom lip jutting out.
You sigh as you lean back against the couch. He was making it hard for you to say no to him.
âBetter not let anyone touch it this time Chan.â
âNo one will touch your precious drinks.â
âIâm serious. If I come only to find out that Hyunjin has downed them all again heâs not going to remain pretty for very long.â
âIâll make sure to pass on the message,â he laughs.
two.
Tonight couldn't get any worse.
You had half a mind to just turn around and go home. The muffled music coming from inside of the apartment wasnât doing anything to help the headache you were currently sporting.
In all honesty, your phone had been on its last moments of life anyway. Although dropping it in a puddle on your way to work earlier that day hadnât been ideal, what was even less ideal was the fact that your new phone wouldnât be in store until Monday.
Three days without a phone. You could do it.
You didnât even bother knocking on the door, knowing that no one would hear you anyway. You slipped inside, the smell of sweat and alcohol so thick that it made you feel lightheaded. Most of the party goers were in the living room, drinking and laughing away. You spotted Chan in the midst of it all, his arms stretched over the back of the couch as he talked to Felix who sat on his right. You spotted a few more familiar faces here and there but overall the majority of the bodies filling the apartment you had been unfamiliar with.
You decided to head straight for the kitchen. It had been pretty much deserted except for a few people who had opted for a quieter place to chat. Your eyes landed on the cups and bottles scattered about the countertop. If one thing could save your day it would be the drinks that Chan had bribed you with. You head straight to the fridge, pulling open the door to find them untouched, a small sticky note attached to them that read âfor Y/n only!â You couldnât help but to smile at the note before pulling a bottle out.
You settled on one of the bar stools, scooting the abandoned cups and snacks away from you before leaning against the granite. The music continues to play from the other room as you take a swig of your drink, letting out a sigh at the taste.
âI heard you threatened my life over those things,â a voice sounds from your left.
Turning, you find a surprisingly sober Hyunjin eyeing you from the doorway with a small smirk on his lips.
You shrug before taking another sip of the drink.
âNot your life, just your face. It was the only way to ensure that I would get at least one this time.â
The blonde laughs as he makes his way towards your slumped figure, sliding onto the stool next to you.
âI canât believe you Y/n. I thought I was your favorite,â he pouted as he propped his chin on one of his hands.
A smile tugged at the corner of your lips, reaching out to ruffle his hair. Hyunjin whined as he swatted at your hand.
âOf course youâre my favorite Hyun. But I had to put me first,â you giggle, already feeling a little dizzy from the few sips you had taken.
Hyunjin beams at you.
âBetter not let Changbin hear you say that.â
Your smile falls ever so slightly at the mention of your other friend. This was the second person that had mentioned him now and from the way Hyunjinâs eyebrows were wagging at you, you knew he had meant it in the same way Chan had.
âThereâs nothing going on between us Jinnie,â you sigh, eyeing the bottle in front of you.
A part of you knew that their comments and teasing were only harmless, they would never do anything to hurt you and you knew that. But ever since you and Changbin had gotten closer after Minho left, you couldnât help but to think that a small part of all of them wanted you to move on. But no matter how nice Changbin was, he wasn't Minho. It had been four years but your heart couldnât let him go. It wouldnât be fair to Changbin.
Before Hyunjin could say anything, Chanâs stumbling into the kitchenâeyes wide and frantic as he searches the room for something or rather someone. He makes his way towards you, eyes wide as he scans you from head to toe.
âY/n why havenât you been answering your phone,â Chan asked as he shakes your shoulders slightly, panic evident in his features.
You grumble at the motion, removing his hands from your shoulders.
âDropped it in a puddle earlier. I wonât have another one until Monday.â
âS-So you didnât get any of my messages?â
Chan seemed stiff as you looked him up and down.
âNo, why? Is something wrongâ.â
âYou need to leave.â
You were a bit taken aback by the sternness in his voice.
âHyungâ,â Hyunjin starts but you cut him off.
âExcuse me? Werenât you the one that practically begged me to come? I just got here!â
He dragged a hand through his hair, clearly distressed.
âYes but I just need you to go. Iâll explain everything later okay?â
âChan Iâ.â
âHyung, Felix is trying to hang from the ceiling fan again,â Jisung slurs as he stumbles into the kitchen.
Chan sighs, brows furrowing in clear frustration.
âCome help me Hyunjin,â the older man states as he turns towards the blonde.
âY/n,â his voice is desperate, eyes pleading as they search yours.
You nod, a feeling of uneasiness overcoming you.
âY-Yeah okay. Iâll go.â
Chan nods before ushering the other two to follow him. Your eyes fall back to the bottle in your hand, throwing it back as you finish the drink. You pull yourself from the stool and discard your bottle, moving to the fridge to retrieve another one before you take your leave. The sticky note catches your eye once more and an uncomfortable feeling forms in the pit of your stomach.
Chanâs scene only moments earlier had left you feeling uneasy.
Why did he want you to leave?
Too busy staring at the yellow piece of paper, you didnât realize that the answer to your question had wandered into the kitchen. That was until their presence was right beside you.
Someone clears their throat, pulling you out of your clouded thoughts.
âSorry I was justâ,â your words die on the tip of your tongue as your gaze meets his.
For a passing moment, the two of you just stare at one another.
âHey,â he breathes, a small smile on his face as he takes you in.
Strands of now ash blond hair fall into his eyes, watching as his hands slip into the pockets of his leather jacket as he greets you.
You felt as though the wind had just been knocked out of you. You thought about this moment more than you cared to admitâwhat it would be like to see him again. In that daydream you had leapt into his arms, and had cried tears of happiness. But in reality, all the feelings you had bottled up these past few years had managed to resurface with a single word.
You felt nothing but hurt.
âHey?â
Minho blinks down at you, his smile slowly faltering.
You scoff as you shut the fridge door with more force than you intended before turning to him.
âFour years and all you have to say to me is hey?â
Your voice has risen at this point, causing other partygoers to cast curious looks in your direction. Minho winces slightly at the sharpness in your tone, reaching a hand out towards you.
âDonât fucking touch me.â
You try your best to ignore the hurt that flashes across his face. Tears begin to surface as you push past him. You make your way through the house, a call of your name getting lost somewhere in the crowd as you make your way to the door. Before you know it youâre out of the house and on the street.
It isnât until youâre halfway down the block that you realize why Chan had been so distressed.
You should have left without question.
Maybe then you could have saved yourself from the heartache that was currently suffocating you.
three.
When you wake up the next morning you think it had all just been a bad dream.
You hadnât drank that much but your head pounded as if you had consumed an entire pack and then some. Your joints popped as you sat up, letting out a small groan as you did so. The shirt and shorts you sported caused you to frown.
âYou're up,â you startle at the voice sounding from your bedroom door.
Chan makes his way over to you looking exactly how you feel. His curly hair is a mess and the bags under his eyes tell you he hadnât slept properly.
Your couch hadnât been the best for sleeping anyway.
It was silent between the two of you. There was so much to say, so many feelings that needed to be discussed but you couldnât find the words.
âThank you for changing my clothes,â you whisper, voice hoarse from crying.
Chan looks at you then, a soft huff leaving him.
âI know thatâs not what you want to say,â he says.
You sigh as you run your hands over your face, cringing at how dry and rough your face feels beneath your fingers.
âI donât know what to say Chan.â
Without warning, Chan wordlessly pulls you against him, arms wrapping around your frame as you tuck your face against his neck.
âDid you see me leave,â you ask as you pull back.
Chan hesitates before shaking his head.
âI came back to the kitchen and found Minho.â
You nod as your eyes fall to your lap.
âHe told me you had leftâasked me to go and find you because he didnât want to upset you even more.â
You nod unknowing of what to say.
âItâs all really sudden isnât it? I didnât expect him to come back at all, let alone show up at my apartment last night.â
You donât say anything, watching as Chan drags his hands through his hair.
âHe wants to meet to talk later.â
You nod as you play with your fingers.
âHe wants us all to go to his place.â
His place? He had a place here? How long had he been back exactly?
âI understand if you donât want to go. He told me to pass the message along to you but he understands if you donât want to see him.â
âI donâtâI canât right now,â your voice is shaky.
âHey,â Chan whispers, his palm gently soothing over your back.
âYou have every right to be angry with him, we all do. If you arenât ready then thatâs okay.â
You nod as you rest your head against his shoulder.
âWill I ever be ready,â you find yourself wondering out loud.
âOne day,â he says as he softly squeezes your shoulder.
âBut thereâs no rush. Go at your own pace and talk to him when you are ready.â
Your curiosity doesnât seem to overpower your broken heart.
You couldnât face him right now.
four.
You let out a sigh, taking in the trees as you leaned back against the park bench.
Fall was finally starting to set upon your quaint little town. The seasonal decorations filled the shops of windows and the trees began to change their color with the arrival of the crisp autumn air.
A laugh left your throat but there was no humor behind it.
Minho had left at the beginning of fall and somehow managed to return around the same time.
Half a month had passed since then, the world still moved and yet you couldn't bring yourself to move with it. You hadn't seen your friends since then and you had begun to miss them.
In truth, you missed Minho too.
The night after the party all of them had went to Minhoâs place. All that they had told you was that it was worth hearing Minho out but you couldnât bring yourself to.
All of the hurt and anger had taken over that night. Tipsy and heartbroken, you had lashed out on the one man you were yearning to see again. You sigh as you lean forward, letting your head fall into your gloved hands.
How could you ever face him again?
A small giggle pulled you out of your thoughts. Lifting your head in the direction of the source your eyes spotted a little girl, crouched beneath a tree as she held her hand out towards a stray cat. You frowned as you looked around, noticing that there wasn't an adult with her. You got up from the bench, making your way towards the child.
The cat sensed your presence before she did, ears perking up as the leaves crunched softly between your feet. You stopped a few steps away, squatting down and holding your hand out to the small creature eyeing you curiously. The cat darted towards you, sniffing at your fingertips before rubbing its head against your palm.
"Kitty likes you," you hear the little girl laugh.
You eyes meet hers where she watches you and the cat from where she's slumped against the tree.
"I think the kitty likes you too," you laugh before lifting the stray into your arms.
The child lets out a sound of wonder as she makes her way towards you on her little legs. She reaches a chubby hand out to pat gently at the cat's head, giggling when it gives her a few licks. Something about her wide, catlike eyes seemed familiar to you.
"You really like cats huh," you ask, watching as the little girl nods enthusiastically.
"Daddy and I have three kitties!"
You couldn't help but to smile as she recalled her cats and what they looked like to you.
"Oh really? And where is your dadâ.â
âYena!â
You freeze at the sound of his voice.
âDaddy,â the child called as she ran towards the voice behind you.
Your hands began to shake, a small meow leaving the cat in your arms as if it sensed your distress. The cat climbed out of your embrace, walking in the direction that the little girl had wandered off.
âI told you to stay right by my side! You canât just wander off like that!â
Minhoâs voice was firm as he scolded the child. As you turned, you noticed the discarded bag of food on the ground, Minho's hands placed firmly on the little girlâs shoulders.
âMâsorry,â the little girl hung her head, âI just saw a kitty and I wanted to pet it.â
You watch as Minho takes a deep breath, the tension slipping from his shoulders as Yena bends down to pet the cat rubbing against her legs.
âPromise you wonât do that again. I thought I lost you,â his last words were mumbled, but you both had heard them nonetheless.
Yena shook her head, her little hands coming up to cup Minhoâs face.
âIâm not lost, I'm right here!â
Minho couldnât help but laugh at the child, taking her small hands into his own.
âJust donât do it again. Promise,â he asked, holding out his pinky.
She made a sound as she wrapped her little pinky around his.
âPromise!â
Minho nodded before standing and brushing the grass from his jeans before retrieving the bag of food.
âIâm really sorry Miss,â he speaks to you as he collects his things.
âI was paying for our food and sheâ.â
His words stop as his eyes meet yours.
âY/n.â
The way he says your name has your stomach churning. Minhoâs eyes shift worriedly between his child and you.
He looked scared.
You open your mouth but nothing seems to come out.
âIâm sorry for the trouble I caused Miss Y/n.â
Your gaze was torn from his at the child's voice, a soft pout on her face as she blinked up at you.
Now you know why they were so familiar. They were his eyes.
You shook your head, plastering a smile on your face as you bent down.
âItâs alright sweetheart. But donât run off from your dad again okay? You really scared him.â
You hear Minhoâs breath hitch slightly but you pay no mind to it as the little girl nods at you.
âI won't.â
When you stand back up you're faced with a conflicted Minho. You want to run, you want to cry, you want to scream. But you donât, you donât do anything.
âDaddy can Miss Y/n come to eat with us? I like her,â the little girl exclaims before beaming up at you.
âOh wellâ.â Minho casts an unsure glance in your direction.
âIâm sure Miss Y/n is very busy.â
The child pouts and your chest clenches.
Copy and paste.
She was Minhoâs child through and through.
Despite the sudden and unexpected revelation you couldnât help but to fear that Yenaâs mother would also be there.
âAre you busy,â the child asks and Minho frowns at her for being so bold but his gaze flickers towards you as they both await your answer.
âIâm not.â
You should have said yes. You should have said yes and walked away from them.
Minho looks a bit relieved that you are even considering going with them.
âThen please join us. Only if you would like to of course.â
Minho wasnât pushing you but rather allowing you to choose.
Despite the way your stomach rolled you nodded nonetheless.
five.
Minhoâs home wasnât all that far from yours. In fact, it was about a 10 minute walk from your place. A part of you couldnât help but wonder if he had chosen this place on purpose.
His apartment was niceâmuch nicer than your place a few streets away. Upon entry you had spotted three sets of eyes staring at you.
âMiss Y/n come meet our kitties,â Yena squeals before grabbing your wrist and pulling you towards the couch.
You have already met the cats. Played with them, bought them gifts, even helped Minho to name Dori when he brought the kitten home.
But Yena didnât know that and you werenât sure Minho wanted her to know who you were at all.
However your thoughts are cut short when Minho speaks.
âY/n has met them before Yena.â
His daughter stops on her tracks, tilting her head curiously at him.
âShe has?â
Minhoâs eyes flicker to yours.
âY/n and I areâfriends?â
You donât miss the questioning tone on the last word but Yena does.
âYouâre daddyâs friend?â
You look down to find the little girl staring up at you.
She looked as if Minho had crawled out of his baby photo and grew longer hair. The resemblance was unmistakable.
You nod before looking back at Minho.
âYour dad and I were very close.â
Minho swallows hard at that.
âOh my gosh,â the little girl exclaims before dashing towards the hall.
âBe careful,â Minho yells to her but sheâs already gone.
You observe him for a moment. He looks exhausted and youâre certain you would be as well.
The little girl returns moments later with a picture clutched in her hands.
âIs this you,â she asks before stretching her arm out towards you.
âAre you the angel daddy always talks about?â
You open your mouth to speak but before you can Minho is reaching for the picture.
âOkay little miss detective,â Minho laughs as he kneels in front of his daughter.
âWhy donât you go wash up so we can eat hm?â
Yena nods before taking off once more, this time towards what you assume is the bathroom.
When sheâs gone Minhoâs smile drops and instead is replaced with an apologetic look.
âY/n Iâm so sorry.â
You stare at him for a moment.
âFor what exactly?â
Minho sighs, dropping your gaze as he looks down at the picture in his hands.
âThereâs too much.â
You think you should be angry but the broken look on his face makes you think thereâs more to the story. Minho would never intentionally hurt you. A part of you knew that.
âMaybe we can talk about it after dinner?â
Minhoâs eyes meet yours once again, this time looking more hopeful.
âYeah?â
âYeah.â
six.
Yena is just like her father.
Sheâs unbelievably mischievous but sheâs also kind and incredibly smart.
Minho has her enrolled in dance classes which she informs you starts the following Monday. Youâre certain that she will succeed in the skill just like her father had.
Minhoâs gaze doesnât leave you or his daughter; there's a fond look in his eyes as he observes the way you interact with one another.
It feels weird. A little too weird but at the same time it feels comfortable in a way.
There are still so many questions that have been left unanswered.
You will admit that a part of you felt relieved as you noticed the only pictures in the house were of Minho and Yena.
There was no sign of another woman.
As if Minho could sense your inner turmoil he cleared his throat, âI think it's a bedtime bun.â
Yena frowned, âCan we watch an episode of Cuddly Wuddly and Friends? Please?â
Minho sighs but gives in.
âJust one and then itâs bedtime. Go brush your teeth and then we will get your pajamas on.â
The TV show puts the child to sleep almost instantly.
All it takes is a few seconds of singing and colorful lights and Yena is out like a light.
You watch the way Minho caresses his daughter's hair gently. Thereâs a soft smile on his face as he watches her. But then it suddenly seems he remembers the presence next to him on the couch.
Minhoâs smile slips slightly as he turns to you.
You arenât sure what to say to him and neither does he to you.
âCan we talk?â
You nod, âYeah. Iâd like it if we did.â
Minho nods before carefully moving, removing himself from beneath the slumbering child. Once he makes sure Yena is comfortably tucked against the cushions he nods in the direction of the kitchen.
You take a seat atop one of the barstools while Minho makes tea for the two of you.
After he slides you your mug, he positions himself on the stool next to you.
âI donât even know where to begin,â Minho sighs.
He looks tired, not so much from being a father but rather an unknown weight heâs been carrying since the last time you saw him.
âHow about why you just disappeared?â
The words come out more bitter than you intend them to.
Minho hunkers in on himself as he drags his hands down his face.
âWhat I did to you was unfair. I shouldnât have run away like that. I will never be able to tell you how sorry I am for doing so.â
Minho turned to you, reaching out towards your clasped hands. When you donât pull away, he intertwines your fingers together and you let him.
You missed his touch terribly.
âMin,â the nickname falls from your lips, âIâm so confused.â
âAsk me anything,â he breathes.
You stare at him for a moment, mouth opening and closing as you consider your words carefully.
âDid youâdid I have anything to do with you leaving?â
Minho is quick to shake his head, squeezing your hands in reassurance as he does so.
âNo Y/n. None of this was ever about you. I was a coward and I was afraid of what you were going to think of me if you found out the truth. I wanted you so much and I fucked up and lost you.â
You feel like a bucket of ice water is poured down your spine at his words.
âWhat do you mean?â
Minhoâs gaze meets yours, he looks so defeated.
âYena, she means the world to me,â he whispers.
âI just wish I could have had her with you instead.â
You feel your breath catch at the confession.
âWhoâs her mother?â
One look at him and you already regret asking because you knew. That also explains why sheâs not currently in the picture.
Minhoâs ex has never been one to be tied down but you also knew that her family would have forced her to keep the baby. As you eye the child sleeping peacefully on the couch you are grateful that she did because you had never seen Minho love someone as much as he loved his daughter.
âI swear I didnât know until a couple of weeks after you and I had confessed to one another. I would never hurt you like that. It was a drunk and stupid mistake,â Minho's voice is strained.
âWhat happened,â you found your voice after a few moments.
You knew youâd probably regret asking but you just wanted answers.
âWe got drunk and yelled at each other and then wellâ,â Minho sighs as he looks over his shoulder as the sleeping child.
âI know I hurt you Y/n but I couldnât face you. I felt like I had betrayed you even though we werenât together at the time it happened. But I never intended to sleep with her. I woke up and didnât remember a thing. I was afraid if I told you that you wouldnât want to be with me. So I made the decision for you and that was wrong of me.â
You nodded as you took a shaky breath, staring down into your nearly empty cup of tea.
âIt was. I loved you Minho. It would have been hard but I would have understood. I would have stayed with you.â
You watch as his face falls, eyes glossing over before quickly looking away.
âHey,â you whisper as you squeeze his hand.
âDonât hide from me anymore. Please?â
Minho's tears begin to fall as he turns towards you, letting his head fall into your shoulder. You gently run your fingers through his hair as his body wracks with silent sobs.
âIâm such a shitty person,â he laughs but thereâs no humor behind it, âA shitty dad too.â
You shake your head as you squeeze his shoulder.
âMinho I can assure you thatâs not true.â
He doesnât look at you, only sniffs silently as he shifts to look at the sleeping child once more.
âWhat makes you say that?â
You shrug slightly as you find yourself looking at the slumbering child as well.
âSheâs alive isnât she?â
Your attempt at joking didnât fail as Minho huffed a laugh against your shoulder.
âYou got me there.â
âPlus sheâs incredibly kind and polite and from what I can tell she has the biggest heart. Sheâs independent and strong willed. Youâre doing an amazing job with her Min.â
A soft laugh leaves him as you continue running your fingers through his hair, missing the feeling of it between your fingers.
Minho wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you against him as he dug his face into your neck.
The movement had your body stiffening, having to try and control the fluttering in your chest as he pressed further against you.
Four years and a child later but he was still the same Minho you fell in love with.
He presses a tentative kiss against your neck. When you donât react negatively he presses another and then another, trailing his lips up your neck until you are face to face once more.
Minho gulps, red eyes flickering between yours and your lips.
âI never stopped loving you,â he breathed.
The confession sent a shudder throughout your body.
âI never stopped loving you,â you echoed back.
Minho released a breath neither of you realized he was holding before leaning in and pressing his lips against yours. The kiss was soft at first, the only roughness being that of Minhoâs chapped lips.
But no kiss had ever felt more perfect than his.
His hands squeezed your waist where they had been resting causing a soft whimper to leave your lips. Minho growled lowly at the sound, his kiss becoming rougher and more rushed than before.
âM-Min wait,â you gasped as your hands pushed at his chest.
His eyes were hooded as they met yours, tongue darting out to wet his already spit slicked lips.
âYouâre not leaving again, right? Youâll stay?â
Your words seemed to sober Minho up, pulling him out of whatever trance the kiss had on him.
âHow could I ever leave again,â he whispered as he cast a glance at the sleeping child before meeting your gaze.
âHow could I leave when everything Iâve always wanted is right here?â
After a long talk between the two of you, Minho had carefully removed Yena from the couch and carried her to bed.
He had asked you to stay and when you nodded he had taken you by the hand and led you to his bedroom. Once the door was shut tight Minho kissed you once more.
That kiss led to more kisses, deeper and deeper each time.
Those kisses had led to your back being pressed into the bed as Minho took you apart beneath him. Hushed whimpers and moans passed between the two of you as Minho made love to you.
He had brought you to ecstasy several times in the dwindling final hours of the night.
Laying with him in bed, naked limbs tangled together as your head rested on his chestâyou think you feel truly happy for the first time in a long time.
âYou look like an angel,â Minho had whispered as he brushed a stray strand of hair from your face.
You couldnât quite pinpoint the look in his gaze but you had never felt more loved.
âCan I ask you a question,â you whisper against his bare chest.
âAnything.â
âWhat did Yena mean earlier? When she asked me if I was the angel in that photo?â
Minho looked slightly embarrassed as his head fell back against the pillow before letting out a huff of laughter.
âI always talked to her about you. Even if you decided that youâd never want to see me again, I thought she deserved to know about the woman that stole my heart.â
You proppered yourself up to look down at him, a rush of heat spreading through your body as your gazes met.
âBut why Angel? Why not use my real name instead?â
Minho shrugged as he cupped your face, guiding your own lips towards his before connecting them softly.
âThatâs what I always referred to you as. Because thatâs what you are,â he whispered against your lips.
âMy angel.â
Your heart had been broken and empty for so long. But the look in Minhoâs eyes and his words had mended that.
He had come back to you.
He had come home.
epilogue.
A few days later and you were on your way to see your friends again.
You couldnât help but feel a bit giddy at the prospect of being reunited with all of them for a game night.
Once Minho had made sure Yena was fastened in her car seat, he slid into the driver's side. His hand never left yours the entire way there.
After your night spent with Minho, it was like he hadnât left at all.
Things fell back into place, Minho was by your side and your world started moving once more.
Chan had been the one to open the door upon your arrival. There was a smile on his face as he looked fondly between the three of you. Yena rushed to him, demanding for her Uncle Chan to pick her up which he instantly complied.
How could anyone resist her charm?
Upon entering, Chan had carried Yena into the kitchen and Minho had followed them after greeting both Jisung and Changbin.
As you made your way into the living room, Jisung had uttered something about forgetting to buy some things before making his way to the door, leaving both you and Changbin alone.
Your eyes fell on the man who had recently showered if the wet strands atop of his head were anything to go by.
âSlept well I presume,â Changbin smirks up at you.
It wasnât a secret to anyone that you had been spending more time at Minhoâs place than your own recently.
You felt your face flush at his suggestive tone.
âShut up Bin,â you whine softly as you plop down on the couch next to him.
Changbin let out a laugh as he adjusted his glasses.
âAre you happy?â
Things between you and Changbin had been different than with you and your other friends. Youâll admit that with time, you might have even found yourself falling for Changbin. But with Minhoâs return, the waltz that had been going on silently between you and Changbin had finally come to an end. Changbin didnât seem too bothered by it so you know that you shouldnât feel any guilt in being happy with the man you had never truly stopped loving.
âI am.â
Changbin smiled at you before reaching out to tousle your hair.
âGood. Iâm glad. You deserve to be happy Y/n.â
Before you can say anything, Yena is bounding into the room and towards Changbin who easily lifts the child into his lap. Minho isnât far behind, a soft smile on his face as his eyes fall on you. He leans down and presses a kiss to the top of your head before taking a seat next to you.
Changbinâs words replay in your head as your lover settles next to you.
You deserved to be happy and after four years, you felt that you finally could be.
Thank you for reading! Comments and reblogs are always appreciated <3
AHHHH I was rooting for Changbin a bit, but the reveal was so good, and the way they fell back into place so seamlessly. What a fun reunion. This was wonderful!
