Applying a label with a shortcut key
The label will now be applied. You will notice the new label, in this example ‘Notes’, appears on the email in the top right corner.
1 - Click on any email you would like to apply a label to
2 - Press the L key
3 - A list with all the labels will appear in a menu.
4 - Click on the label of your choosing.
5 - The label will now be applied. You will notice the new label, in this example ‘Notes’, appears on the email in the top right corner.
Please note: To remove the label just applied, click on the ‘x’ next to the label.
Move Email to some other Folder with a Shortcut
The quickest way to move an email to a specific folder, is using the shortcut key ‘v’.
1. Click on any email you would like to move 2. Press the V key 3. A list with all the folders will appear in a menu. 4. Click on the folder/label of your choosing. 5. The message will now be moved to the new folder.
Send to Services Shortcut
To quickly access the Share menu shortcut, simply press the letter ‘z’ in the message list.
In the message list, press the letter ‘z’,Â
This will open the share menu.
Choose a sharing option.
Rules on Airmail 3
1- Airmail now can sync the rules to the iCloud drive.
2 - Airmail now offers a new rule type - forwarding the messages.
3 - You can record a keyboard shortcut for each rule.

Send Later
Airmail now has a new option to schedule messages to send automatically at the chosen/scheduled time. This is only available for Gmail and Exchange email accounts. Please note that Airmail sends the scheduled messages even if the app is not running. To schedule a message at a later time please follow these steps.
Open up the ‘Composer’ (New Message) window and compose the message that you want to send at a later point of time.
Set the point of time at which you want to send the message automatically and choose ‘Schedule’ as shown in the picture below!
You can retrieve the scheduled messages in the ‘Send Later’ folder which is available in the Folder Panel on Airmail Sidebar. If you are not seeing the send later folder you will have to select the ‘Send Later’ from Airmail Preferences > Favourites. Please see the picture below:
New VIP Contacts
Airmail now gives you the ability to mark the desired contacts as VIPs and you can find all the received messages from a VIP contacts at one place by a simple click on the Folder Panel present in Airmail Sidebar. VIPs are synced over iCloud with other devices(for example with Airmail on iPhone/iPad). Please follow the picture below.
You can see all the messages that you received from a VIP contact ion one place by selecting the VIP > Contact as shown in the picture below.
You can also set the VIP ONLY notifications for a particular account. To accomplish this, follow Airmail Preferences > Accounts > More as shown in the picture. Please note that this an account specific preference, so you are required to set for each account separately.
New Preferences - Actions Tab
Airmail has a new ‘Actions’ tab in Airmail Preferences. ‘Actions’ allow you to customise your actions and their order as per your liking. You can also enable the gmail shortcuts from selecting the option for ‘Gmail Shortcuts’. Please refer to this link for Gmail shortcuts https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6594?hl=en
You can now customise the swipe actions for the left and the right swipe. In addition, you can customize a few of the keyboard actions too and also, record the shortcuts for ‘new message’ and ‘show app’ actions as shown in the picture below

Favourites Tab
Airmail has a new ‘Favourites’ tab in Airmail Preferences. ‘Favourites’ now allow you to select the folders and labels that should appear in the ‘Folder Panel’ in the sidebar as marked in the picture below.
You can also access the quick folder view from the ‘three dash’ icon in the folder panel, to gain a quick access to any folder of any account, which is present in Airmail. Please refer to the picture below.
Smart Folders
Airmail 3 has now a new feature called ‘Smart Folders’. You can now save your searches as ‘Smart Folders’.
These ‘virtual’ folders just save your search with a particular criterion so that, you don’t have to search for the same criterion again and again. ‘Virtual’ in this case means that they don’t have the messages’ copies in them for real. They just fetch the search results in one place.
Smart folders can be made to appear in Sidebar just as the iOS Airmail app, for easy access. Please see the screenshots.
How to create a Smart Folder?

How to set the search criteria for a smart folder?
You can use the pre-defined operators which are already indicated in the smart folder box as shown in the picture below. These operators should be sufficient for almost all the quick searches. If you still need to define extra operators for the smart folder, you can use the Google Advanced Search Operators  https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7190?hl=en
How to include the Smart Folders in the sidebar?
You have to just click on the three dash icon and select the Smart Folder option to enable them to appear in the sidebar.

Snooze Feature
Choose an option from the new menu:Airmail’s latest feature is Snooze. This features allows you to snooze an email, which means it will disappear from you inbox, but return at the time you have chosen. It is a great tool to declutter you inbox without forgetting to answer those important emails.
The snooze feature was introduced with the Airmail 2.6 update. If you you can’t find the upgrade, make sure to update your app on the App Store.
The snooze feature can be activated by right clicking on an email in the message list
**Set Snooze Defaults **
1. Open Airmail App 2. Open Airmail Preferences (⌘,) 3. Click on the Snoozes Tab 4. The following menu will be displayed:
5. Choose you default snooze preference for each of the options.
**Using Snooze Feature **
To use the snooze feature, right click on any email in the inbox (tap with two fingers or ctrl + click).
Choose Snooze from the popup menu:

4. Each of the options above will use the default settings set in preferences. To choose a specific date, click on the Pick Date menu. Choose date and click on set snooze date.
5. Your email will now be moved to the snooze email, only to return on the time or date selected.
**Where are the Snoozed emails located **
Once an email has been snoozed, it is moved to the Snooze folder/label that Airmail App created. The snooze folder is located in the sidebar below the account folders/labels.
Tap on Snooze to see messages.
How to disable Advanced Graphics
Airmail App uses a feature called Advanced Graphics, to enhance the visual aspect of the app. However on older computers, this can slow the computer down.
To turn off this feature, please follow the following steps:
Open Airmail App
Open Airmail Preferences (⌘,)
Click on the Advanced Tab
Click on the select box to deselect Advanced Graphics
Close the window
Click on Airmail in the Menu Bar
Click on Quit Airmail (⌘Q)
Reopen airmail
Advanced Graphics has now been disabled.
Enable and use Swipe Gestures
Airmail app uses similar swipe gestures, as you would find in iOS Mail Apps.
Enable Swipe Gestures
To enable swipe gestures, follow these steps.
Open Airmail App
Open Airmail Preferences (⌘,)
Click on the Advanced Tab
Click to select Enable Gestures
Using Gestures
Swipe gestures are only active in the message list section
Archive a Message
Simply swipe to the right with 2 fingers or press and hold Alt, while dragging the mouse to the right
Delete a Message
Simply swipe to the left with 2 fingers or press and hold Alt, while dragging the mouse to the left
Today Extension
Airmail makes full use of the OS X environment to utilise the latest features, such as the Today view in the Notification Centre.
Enable the Today Extension
Click on the on the Notification Centre icon in the top right corner of the screen
Then click on Edit
Click on the green plus sign, next to the Airmail Today

Using the Today Extension
Click on the Notification Centre icon (top left in the menubar)
Notice the new Airmail section in the Today screen with 3 tabs: **Â Â Inbox: **List the 10 most recent message in the inbox. **Â Â To Do: **List the 10 most recent messages marked as To Do. **Â Â Memo: **List the 10 most recent messages marked as a Memo.
Click on each tab to view the messages.
Each message has 3 shortcut icons.
Reply: Opens the message in Airmail ready to reply Archive: Archives the message, without opening Airmail Delete: Deletes the message without opening Airmail
Click on any of these icons to perform the appropriate action.
