RIP Arti, 9 May 2026

Arti, offline name Hal, known here as @catsarehumanstoo, died on Saturday 9th May of complications following surgery. He was surrounded by family and friends, including me.

I've been friends with Arti since we were 12 years old, and we grew up alongside each other both online and in-person. He was kind, clever and generous, with a wickedly dry sense of humour, and I will miss him more than words can express. He loved cooking, comics and films, of which his absolute favourite was Speed Racer (2008).

Despite being close friends, in recent years our online circles didn't overlap much. If you had any interaction with Arti, I would appreciate you reblogging this so that we can get the word out. If you were a friend of his and would like to talk, my DMs are open.
