caelum liked to pretend that he was one to mind his own business but everyone around him knew that this was a lie. he was nosy, it was in his nature to try and find out what was going on with everyone around him. this was the case when he was walking outside and noticed a familiar figure up ahead. usually his late night walks were spent alone, he usually didn’t even take his eyes off of the stars but tonight was different. he’d been outside alone for far too long but when he approached the other and got the reaction that he did, he began to wonder if he should have gotten involved at all. “woah, okay. that’s not usually the reaction i get but i won’t take it personally. are you okay?” 

he was startled to say the least, hands getting clammy as he listened to the other approach. “just fine. i’ll be back in soon.” he replied, hoping the undertone of ‘don’t stay and just give me some space’ wasn’t lost on the other. “too many people.” it wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate the sentiment of from the other, he was just sort of drained from the night.

“thanks, i felt like i was slightly dying.” the humor of their conversation so far wasn’t lost on him. “why’d you leave? too many people on the verge of heat exhaustion or dehydration that you couldn’t be the life of the party anymore?” he made no effort in hiding his grin as he took the bottle from the other’s hand. “cheers.” the water quenched the small thirst building and he was thankful.

Daniel had successfully snuck away from Roman which was not an easy feat. Luckily, someone else snatched his attention and Daniel was able to escape the heavy and loud atmosphere to find some sort of peace. While the music, dancing and heavy breathing was always something that helped Daniel forget his troubles, in this moment all he wanted was the isolation. But just as he reached the exit he saw another felt the same. Daniel almost didn’t follow, if it wasn’t for the crippling and growing anxiety within forcing the man out of the building he wouldn’t have. He tried to move as slowly and as quietly as possible but he was caught. Bewildered eyes fell on Nolan, and a soft, somewhat anxious, exhale left him. “Uh– no take all the minutes you need I just–” With a roll of the eyes Daniel scorned himself as he pulled a cigarette out of his back pocket. “Want a smoke?”

he caught himself laughing as the other’’s tongue twisting, feeling at bit less on edge. “no, thank you though. i’m a fan of fresh air, oxygen and what not.” nolan turned his body toward the other slightly, as if to say ‘you’re welcome here, i’d enjoy your company’, but in a more subtle way. “don’t let me stop you, though.” the music shook the ground beneath them, making his heartbeat feel out of sync. he decided to shake it off. “you don’t seem like the type to miss a big party like this.”

nolan stepped outside, completely lost in his own head as per usual. he just needed some air, needed to breathe normal again. he got easily overwhelmed in crowds. it’s not like he didn’t enjoy being out with his friends, didn’t enjoy getting drunk every now and then, because it was one of his favorite things to do. nolan just preferred to be by himself more than anything, so when he swore he heard someone come up behind him, the air caught in his throat. “i just needed a minute.”

“It’s sacred, the Earth is sacred.” she quipped in a short manner. “Why litter, pollute and destroy something that’s sacred. All for what, unnecessary materialistic wants.” This was not a topic the other should have brought up, especially not with Kaia. While she may be tiny, she had an unrelenting passion for the Earth. “Maybe if people weren’t so egocentric the Earth wouldn’t be dying.

“to be fair, there is only so much one person can do. it has to be a group effort.” nolan knew that he wasn’t the worst when it came to being ‘earth-friendly’, as he always recycled and loved his little garden at home. “one of the worst things about it is how awful the air is getting. global warming, smog, the general unhealthiness of the air we breathe, you know?”

              “ i hate when people just assume that i’m not down to go out because i went out the night before- like what kind’a weak ass punk do you think i am ? i am always down. i pretty much run off of cheap booze and bad trap music you fake fan…” mercutio always did have a tendency to talk even if no one was listening, fully embodying the narcissistic rock star stereotype that he loved more than he’d care to admit. 

“we all know how much you love to go out, m.” nolan was half ignoring him now, taking a sip of his drink and leaning against the wall. “nobody doubts your incredible “partying” skills and your love for awful trap music.” they may have had different tastes in music, but the band was one thing they could agree on.
