Because I’m a sucker for afureko

In the Zankyou no Terror making-of special, there’s a big chunk which shows Kaito’s efforts to give his best performance and it’s really admirable.

After take 1, the director and Kaito had a long discussion about his approach to the particular scene while he kept squinting and cocking his head trying to get it.  (I thought it was perfect but hey, what the hell do I know ^^.)

Narrator: “In the studio, there was the presence of Ishikawa who was always suffering.“

The second take 2 ends, Kaito winces all the way back to his seat.  He was still unsatisfied. (I feel bad cuz he was struggling, but that was pretty cute actually.)

Saitou:  “He is a person who is really serious about acting.  He doesn’t evade the situation by indulgent words, he always goes towards that with 100% of his power.  If he isn’t satisfied with that, even if he already got the ‘OK’ for that part…”

Kaito:  “Could I try this one more time?”

Saitou:  “…he’ll go to ask by himself, ‘Please let me do this again.’  I really respect his attitude, and I also admire him.”

You then see Kaito make a small apologetic gesture to Saitou for making him do the scene with him for a 3rd time, but all is well as it seems 3rd time’s the charm.

Ahhh I could watch afureko all day.  I love this stuff and wish they showed more things like this for other shows, CDs, games, etc.  It’s so cool seeing seiyuu do their work!
