Hi everyone! I’m Sora, or Soleil—either one is perfectly fine, though most know me by the former. I’m a fandom enthusiast (my many fandoms are listed below this portion of the post) and I like to write. Well, it’s more than a ‘like.’ My dream is to write something that I love and that I can love with the people that matter. I want to fall in love with something harder and harder everyday, and to resonate with something beautiful. For me, that something beautiful isn’t necessarily tangible; nor does it have to be just an idea. But it will always be something that puts a smile on someone else’s face. Whether it ever comes to fruition, I suppose that’s my job to do what I do best: be a person. So, without further ado, welcome to my space I have been so vulnerable to share with the world.

Requests must be sent via ask unless explicitly stated otherwise. Please don't direct message me or leave comments under other, finished request posts!
I can write oneshots and multi-chapter narratives, but the chapter limit for all requests is 4-5 chapters. Poem prompts are also accepted!
I'm completely fine with writing oc x canon material as long as I can be familiarised with your oc/sona/yume (any necessary details can be in the ask submission)
Requests for headcanons are also entirely welcome! They can be individual characters, platonic or romantic relationships, and oc headcanons (once again, any necessary details can be in ask submission)
I personally don't have any triggers, so the only big 'no's are some darkships.* SFW and NSFW requests are equally welcome as I enjoy writing both forms of media
Please only send requests for fandoms listed above as the list will be updated regularly and will be accurate to my personal knowledge in fandom spaces
All of my work will use United Kingdom spelling as well! So be warned for any “typos”
Asks can also be sent for requests for tips on writing, so don’t be shy!
I also really like songs so you can send me songs or request songs for certain characters or ships!
REMINDER!!: While I may not respond to your request within the day, it was still seen and is in my inbox! If I don't explicitly state rejection of your request, that means I simply haven't gotten around to beginning the request! Also, please keep in mind that requests will not always be completed in the order in which they were submitted because each piece of media takes its own amount of Time & Effort.™
*incest, paedophilia, and zoophilia are *pretty much* the only darkship dynamics that I don't want to support in a romantic manner, but feel free to send an ask about any other darkship tropes/material!

Ren it is a SEVEN book series. I'm not even lying. I have 1, 2, 5, and 6 rn because barnes & nobles HATES ME
also not to like be a spoiler but there are book spoilers in this long ass rant sorry gang (I say as if spoiler isn't my middle name)
I'm not mad because obvi the movie was popular because it is a Tim Burton film. I personally believe it is his worst film because he took SO MANY creative liberties that made it so that the movie storyline could never continue like the book series does.
Did you know that the main character's name isn't Jake? People that have only seen the movie think his name is Jake and it makes me sad. His name is JACOB and he's special and I love his stupid first person monologuing
ALSO Emma is the one with fire powers, not Olive, and she also has dark hair. She's not blonde folks. Also Olive is canonically seven years old while Claire is five, and Enoch is canonically 13-15 so shipping him with Olive in makes no sense at all (thanks Mr. Burton).
Also Bronwyn is actually the eldest biologically (around 17 if I'm not mistaken), Millard is 16, Emma is 16, Horace is somewhere between 13 and 16 I can't remember right this instant sigh, and both Hugh and Fiona are also teenagers (and canonically together. Emma says that she caught them making out the first or second time she was sneaking out to see Jacob). The twins never existed in the books other than in a polaroid that Abraham had.
Jacob's only friend in Florida was an older boy named Ricky with bright green hair and a car he claimed to have bought with a jar of quarters at the town dump. Ricky was the only that drove Jacob to Abraham's house and was there when Jacob found his dead body in the woods. Ricky called him Special Ed because he was in gifted classes at school. Jacob's parents did not like Ricky and that was part of the reason Jacob was even friends with him.
The first time Jacob kissed Emma (yes this happened on multiple occasions), one of his main thoughts was how the girl he liked could have easily been his grandmother. What a mood killer my boy.
Millard has canonically been shot (I cried, no he's not dead) and apologised when he was retrieved to have his bullet wound tended to (he's such a sweet boy I'm in love with him)
Dr. Golan was always a man. He was never a woman. (unrelated but I literally loved Samuel L. Jackson as Mr. Barron in that movie he was so funny for no reason).
During the scene where the loop resets, in the movie a record player is shown playing the song Run, Rabbit, Run (or whatever it's called but you get the point). In the book, the children sing it themselves if I'm not mistaken.
In the book, Emma's reaction to Abraham dying is much more tragic. She does not figure that he's dead simply because Jacob has came to the loop. She actually eavesdropped on his conversation with Miss Peregrine and when Miss Peregrine noticed she was listening in (because she could hear her quietly crying), she ran away from the office sobbing. She was in love with Abraha. it wasn't just a close friend thing. She didn't really ever get over it.
That's all I have to yap about but I could go on.
They really fucked over the characters and storyline compared to the books. idek why they changed their ages and dynamics but whatever he's rich and famous so he does what he wants

one argument you often see about fanfiction is that it's like 'training wheels' writing? like 'oh it's fine to do that while you're still learning, it's easier than coming up with your own ideas'. and I have to say I have just never agreed with that.
in my experience it's actually pretty common for newbie fanfiction writers to gravitate towards coming up with OCs rather than writing about the canon characters (hence the infamous Mary Sue); this suggests that many people find that 'easier' than attempting to write about pre-existing characters.
I would say that recreating the characterisation, mood and general vibes of an existing work of fiction is in fact a skill in and of itself that's acquired via practice. A common compliment delivered to fanfiction writers is how well they have captured the spirit of the original work. Inexperienced fanfiction writers fail to do this.
When creating an original character you can, ultimately, say anything about them and now it's canon bcos you created them and you said so. conversely, well, if you are covering a well known song and start playing the wrong notes people will notice immediately.
In addition: a lot of fanfiction, IMO, is in actuality a form of metafictional literary analysis. a story where two characters sit down and talk about their feelings about a canonical event? literary analysis, which is of course a skill. Sometimes fanfiction is bad bcos the writer is not good at interpreting texts.
finally I have made this point before but you never really see anyone suggesting that fictional works based on existing public domain texts are on 'easy mode'. is it 'easier' to write something based on a copyrighted work than a public domain work? Of course it isn't.
A major strength of the transformative work is its ability to create dramatic irony. If a fanfiction's emotional resonance is dependent on being familiar with the source material that's not necessarily a bad thing. sometimes it's a sign that the author has done a really skillful job of engaging with said source material.
"I want children to suffer" is the ultimate flex by red-pilled conservative anti-feminist dorks who are equally racist when screeching about birth rates dropping.
