Safe House Pt.1

The sun was starting to set which meant everyone would be leaving soon. You’d been picking at the rusted lock that kept you hostage in a cage for a few days. Fortunately you’d snatched the key from a man who looked as if he were going to pass out any second when he wasn’t looking.

“Worthless. Your kind shouldn’t be allowed to exist!” A green haired boy yelled.

Two days earlier you were kidnapped and taken to UA, a school for wizards, to heal a dying one. However he was beyond saving. His wounds were beyond repairing. They blamed you for not being able to save him and were set on executing you the next day.

After they left you in the dark room you exited the cage, living out your plans of escape. You ran through the halls and into the closest forest. Tall trees surrounded you. You found the tallest one and climbed it. The dark green started fading to black along with everything around you.

You jumped up when you thought you heard the voices of wizards. A warm blanket fell from your chest.

“You’re finally up.” A man said, watching you from the opposite side of the room.

“Where am I? Who are you?,” you questioned, eyes looking from his beautiful scars to his ears, “you don’t look like one of us.”

“I thought you were dying so I brought you here, my home, but you seem fine. You must be exhausted, I can run you a bath before you go.” He held his hand out, which you took, “as for my name it’s Dabi.” The two of you walked to the tub where you watched it fill with bubbles.

“Aren’t you getting in too?” You asked, stripping out of your clothes. Dabi’s cheeks shaded a bright red. He shook his head squatting next to the tub after you got in.

“Unfortunately I can’t.” You brushed your dry fingers across his burns. He leaned in kissing you gently, “I’ll be waiting in the other room beautiful.”

Hands wrapped around your towel lifting you from the ground when you got out, placing you on the bed, “you don’t have to leave.”

“Good, I didn’t want to.” You caressed his face bringing it down to yours. He slowly unwrapped your towel from around your body leaving kisses down your torso. He held your legs sliding his tongue between your lower lips. You flinched at the feel, pullin the sheets unattaching them from the mattress. You never understood why people treated you the way they did. It’s not like you were a villain or some kind of scary monster that caused people to avoid you at all cost, but for some reason they did just that. They all did. No matter where you were real friends were not a luxury you had.

Growing up was hardest of it all. It was like putting together the wrong pieces of a puzzle except you were the wrong piece to every puzzle. When you were around your non black peers you stood out like a sunflower in a rose garden.

“Your hair...why does it look like that?” They would always ask when you wore it in it’s natural state. It was either ‘too big’ or ‘looked nappy’ when it came to them.

They always found a way to invalidate your blackness to make them feel more comfortable around you.

“You don’t really look black.”

“Maybe if you straightened your hair it would look better.”

“I get it, but your not really black.”

It was a constant cycle with them. When it came down to try and find a spot with other black people it was the same thing. They hardly acknowledged your black side.

You were constantly in a lose-lose battle with those around you.

The echo of your footsteps came to a hault as you approached your apartment door. You were met with a winged man chilling on your couch.

“We should have movie night!” He said a bit energetic than normal. You nodded, changing into a different pair of clothes. Not long after doing your morning routine together the two of you stopped by a few stores collecting snacks. He let you pick the movie this time since he had a habit of picking the same three of his favorite movies.

“How abouttt,” you dragged, “this one!” The cover pictured a short haired school girl jumping through the air. The art of the animation stood out from the rest. Aizawa’s face twisted in confusion.

“The girl..”, you finished for him, “who leapt through time.” It had been something you’d watched previously but still foreign to him. He shrugged, paying for it before then heading home. The sun was beginning to lower by the hour. You heard him calling out for you a few times.

He waited impatiently in the fort the two of you made earlier in the day. Snacks laid in front of him. You hustled to his side relaxing your head on his shoulder. Throughout the movie all you could hear were the sound effects and commentary coming from your husband. After almost two hours the credits rolled darkening the room.

“How was it?” You asked, flicking a light on.

“Ehh, it was alright.” He answered, secretly wiping a single tear that left his eye. Truth is he loved movies like this, the ones that pulled at your heart strings.

“Yeah right! Admit it! You loved it.” You teased.

“It was decent.” He stood, hugging you from behind.

“You loved it.” You held onto his warm hands.

“You know what I would love, is to take a nice long beautiful rest with my beautiful wife.” He lead you to the bedroom, pulling you close in his arms.

Whenever someone walks up the steps In my house they creak so I can hear when someone is coming. So I heard two sets of heavy footsteps and creaked my door open.

My instant thought was “should I take my shirt of” I DONT KNOW WHY THAT WAS IT BUT BITCH THAT WAS WHAT I WAS THINKING.

All of a sudden two officers walk in and ask me if I’m okay. That’s when I started feeling dizzy and realize I all of them had disappeared and the officers told me I was acting weird, IN MY HOUSE. Then I actually woke up and realized I was late to my zoom class lmaooo.
