Thing 14 - Soundcloud

Soundcloud is a online audio platform, which means you can search and listen to all different types of music on this website. First off you are going to need an account to do anything on this website. What i found out is that you can search any song and they have all different types of music on this website. If you like a song you can leave a like on it and then it goes into a folder, all of your likes go into the same folder and you can listen to them over and over again. You can also create playlists or follow different people and see what kind of music they like or listen to.

Vimeo - Thing 13

I decided to use vimeo because i have never used it before and wanted to see how different it was from youtube. If you have an account for Vimeo you are able to create a playlist, if you are using it and not signed in you can still download videos. I was able to locate the license information, it was located right under the title of the video and it just tells you who the video belongs to or who made it. Vimeo is a pretty good website because they seem to have a lot of videos of all different subjects and it is pretty simple to use. One thing that i don’t like is that you have to be really specific with your search when trying to find a video. Vimeo allows you to share the video or you can save the video for later. Also if you are signed in they give you the option to follow the person that shared the video and see all the other videos they have posted. Another thing it lets you do is share the video to different social media websites if that’s what you want.

Learning Experience

While on this website i looked how to become a Boarder patrol agent, this job kind of interests me and it seems fun. While looking through the 177 page paper i found out what requirements are needed to be selected for the job, how much you will be paid and what duties you will have while on the job. Also it talked about what kind of skills you will need. Some of them are thinking skills, characteristic skills, you will also need to be able to interact well with others. People with a military background have a better chance of getting this job because they already have some of the training that they need. This job would take a lot of work to get but it would be worth it in the end.

Wikipedia

Wikipedia isn’t a very reliable source if you are trying to do a research paper or for some other reason. It can be a good place to get some ideas on information that you should look up but i wouldn’t use it as a reliable source. When i first joined Wikipedia i would brought through and was shown how to do everything that was available for anyone with an account. I learned a lot of stuff about Wikipedia and then i also had the power to edit and put in some information i thought would be useful. I went to the Flandreau page and put in some false information and within 2 hours that information was taken down and i was emailed about it saying that they are glad i’m a member but don’t be putting any false information on the website.

Facebook

Facebook is probably the most used social media there is today. Everybody from young to old seem to have Facebook, and it really has changed overtime. The group option on Facebook is actually very helpful, some groups that i have joined are some sales pages for Moody county. This page just basically lets people from moody county post items that they want to sell to people that are nearby. Also they can be useful when you are planning a family vacation or want to share something with your friends that you don’t want your parents to see. I think it is just a great addition to Facebook.

Twitter is a social media website where you can follow you friends and you can share pictures or if you want you can share your ideas through tweets but only up to 140 characters. If you have a good idea of what to do with twitter there are a lot of things that you could do. Like in the steps on the website there is a way where you can view a certain persons tweets. That is pretty neat.

Diversity

Diversity is important in today's society, kids these days want something different for when they are texting or tweeting stuff. Diversity is a good thing because it includes everyone in it and doesn't cut anyone out of it. The new emoji s come in all different colors and that is good because no one is left out that way. Another thing they are doing is creating Bitmoji, this allows everyone to custom make there own character to match their personality. Doing this keeps everyone happy and ensures that no one is left out.

Digital security is a big deal to me. I checked the security on all of my apps and was surprised who could view some of the stuff i was posting on social media. People don’t realize who has access to some of your information because social media websites don’t want people to be afraid to sign up. It is kind of scary knowing that there are people out there that can hack into anything they want and get any information they want from you.

Digital footprint

When on social media you want to be careful what you post or like or re-tweet. Because today social media has a big role in how people view you, if you are going for a job and they see some negative stuff on your twitter account they could look right past you and go hire the next guy if you don’t be careful what you post. Leaving a positive digital footprint is a must when trying to apply for a job because you want to look professional. Just watch what you post and make sure it’s nothing negative.

Introduction and Blogs

The introduction just tells you everything that you need to do to get started. The first thing you have to do is find a place where you would like to blog and then set up an account. Then you should probably do a little of exploring to get use to the website and everything that it offers. After you feel comfortable with the site then next step is to start blogging. Blogging is basically just writing about a certain subject and giving your opinion on it. Blogs shouldn't be to terribly short but at the same time they shouldn't be to long so the reader gets bored. After you right down your thoughts and your feeling on a certain subject you can always go and read others peoples blogs and give your opinion on the subject they are writing about.
