I think it would be really interesting for the Chain to wind up in Times era and actually meet Lullaby. (One cause she's the best and definitely isn't featured enough!!) Mostly for Sky cause I do think much like how Sky twiddles around on the harp all the time I think Lullaby would too.
So imagine Sky getting to meet Lullaby, obviously the excitement is already there cause of the whole "he's the start of the royal family" aka he's her ancestor thing, but also cause I he would see the harp and just get really giddy. Cause that's HIS harp (wells suns technically..), and not only is it still around but it still is being used! They would absolutely have like, a father daughter kinda music session and just play the harp for everyone and teach each other knew songs.
Just an absolute wholesome moment between the two that would make both of them SO happy.
(meanwhile legends having an existential crisis cause lullaby is HIS ancestor and I absolutely headcannon he got his violet eyes from her and OMG everyone can see the resemblance and it's unnerving)
Guys, if Legend was a enemy to/worsking against the rest Chain for some reason, he would be an absolute powerhouse.
He’s sarcastic as all get out, has an arsenal of so many weapons that are specific to his game, and he’s is completely ready to fight some deities since they pissed him off
IDK, if a situation happened where Legend the the Other Links were on opposing sides, the grumpy Vet would certainly not make things easy
Canon (mostly) things to further my point:
Has the medallions (New magic to the others, usually has a lot of magic himself as well)
Can turn into a painting
Has an alternate version of himself
Can turn into bunny (Could be used for evasion or spying; would use it for plot purposes)
The Pegasus boots (evasion or attack strategies)
Has an alternate version of the Master Sword (very sinister indeed)
Holds a very outward grudge against Hylia (more fanon I think; Other than Time, I think he’s the only one)
Is/was hated by his kingdom’s knights and has a ‘criminal’ background
Has the ring that turns him into Hyrule??? (Even better for trickery)
Can sense dark magic (maybe all magic)
Has the most experience/years of active adventuring under his belt
PROTECTION JEWELRY (mostly rings lol)
Mermaid tail (could be useful, underwater fights maybe)
Potentially can turn into three people (I’ve not played Tri-Force Heroes, but again, I would milk it for the plot if applicable)
The chronic pain makes him an angsty boy (more headcanon but still)
Certainly has the backstory for a villain (Uncle died, framed for crimes he didn’t commit, girlfriend died, has been used again and again by Hylia since age 10, and plenty of other things I’m sure)
Has Majora’s Mask (mind games, hehehe)

Hyrule’s warm eyes bore into him, soft and searching and kind. “It may not feel like it now, but I promise you are doing so much better than you think you are. You being here matters.”
Nothing you do matters anyways. If anything, you’re just making things worse.
“Stop it.”
You destroy the world every time you try to fix it. Look at Hyrule’s world. Look at Kohilint.
“I said stop!”
You try so hard and all it amounts to is ruin and the same old cycle as before.
You’re nothing; pathetic and lonely and broken and—
“Legend.”
Legend’s eyes snap open, tears stardust in the void expanse. Hyrule’s warm eyes bore into him, soft and searching and kind. His hands are gentle and grounding on his shoulders and Legend finds himself clutching his friend’s elbows.
“…Hyrule?”
“It’s not real,” Hyrule says, leaning in, still gentle, but earnest. “It may not feel like it now, but I promise you are doing so much better than you think you are. You being here matters.”
“We may not say it often—” Another hand lands on Legend’s shoulder. This one slim and covered with gauntlet and glove. Warriors. His blue eyes sparkle even as his small smile seems sad. “But we love you. None of this would be the same without you.”
“All of us fail,” Wild says, hand on his back. “What matters is… what matters is that we keep trying.”
“This feeling doesn’t last forever,” Four says, eyes flicking up and then back down. “Even if it feels like it right now.”
“And you’re not alone,” Time says, hand landing on Legend’s other shoulder. “We’re here with you.”
Sky nods over Time’s shoulder, tears sparkling from his own eyes as he wraps his arms around those around him. “You’re so strong Legend. You are more than enough, just as you are.”
“Don’ give up on us now,” Twilight says, another warm hand on his back. He smiles, warmth in his being. “You ain’t broken. You’re just human: livin’ and growin’ and changin’.”
“Come back to us, vet,” Wind says softly, a sudden weight against him as the kid’s arms wrap tightly around his waist. Legend’s breath catches, suddenly releasing. He looks around at the people around him, pinpricks of light in a void of dark. “We need you.”
Legend’s breath hitches, as the rest of them pile in. His arms slowly come up to join in the hug.
His throat is sore. His eyes are burning. There’s… something. A bit more alive in his head. The voice is still there, but somehow, it’s duller, surrounded by this much light.
“Come on, Ledge,” Hyrule whispers.
Legend closes his eyes.
And gasps, eyes flying open to the same group hug.
He breathes in the fresh air. Hears the birds chirping in the trees. Sees swords scattered around the clearing, left behind… to help him.
(His chest is still heavy. His mind is still dark. But.)
A while ago I made a post about how we have Legend fearing everyone else is a dream but we should also consider Time fearing that all of them will forget about him.
Imagine that one day Legend wakes up in the middle of the night after a nightmare about Koholint, Time was on watch and went to comfort him. Legend throws himself towards Time and hugs him hard, wanting to hear the old man breathing and to feel the comforting warmth of his body, trying to grasp the fact that maybe Time is real, maybe he's here, maybe he does really have others at his side and he's not alone.
The next morning Legend apologizes with Time about what happened, but Time gives him a side hug and confesses that it's ok. He has a similar fear too. After leaving the Master Sword on her pedestal, during Termina, everyone forgot about him and even if he loved them as close friends, they only saw him as "someone they knew". So Time tells him that he fears that one day, the chain will forget about him, that he won't be "their old man" but just another hero they know.
And both heroes make a promise then. Time promises Legend that he's real and Legend promises Time that he's never gonna forget him. Both know is an impossible promise, a dream doesn't realize it's not real until it disappears and someone can't remeber something that it never happened. Yet they make that promise to eachother, as a way to reassure their own heart, like if promising something in exchange will fullfil the other promise.
Since then, when Legend feels nothing is real Time is at his side hugging him and helping Legend look at the surroundings, hoping that his touch let the veteran know he's real, and his voice calm that grumpy heart. And when Time fears nobody there knows him, Legend is holding his hands between his, repeating his full name and title again and again so Time hears how he didn't forget, but also Legend tells him about a happy memory where everyone is included because there's a memory to cherish.
We're at THIRTEEN completed chapters and 17,000 words woohoo!!! We're getting somewhere! (...not that story beats wise we're at 25% yet... lol the mega project continues)
Lots of these will probably be heavily edited/rearranged, but I'm excited with the progress!

Hyrule traces the glowing gold on the back of his hand.
His glove is held loosely in his other hand, letting the light pulse softly in the darkness. Power sits at the top, full and intricate and bleeding magic into Hyrule’s own. Wisdom resides below, a calming, clear presence. Courage thrums with a special resonance, feeding the fire and concern in Hyrule’s heart. It’s Courage, he thinks, that the nudge to take off his glove came from.
He pulls his finger back, letting out a deep breath.
It’s not often that he’s tempted to use the Triforce. But if there was ever a time…
Carefully, Hyrule pulls his glove snugly back in place and the glow dies, making room for the fireflies and soft light of the moon filtering down through the forest.
Hyrule takes one more breath to steel himself, then lifts a hand to push past the thick vines ahead of him.
When he steps through, his breath catches.
Moonlight spills into the small clearing, bright enough that Hyrule could be convinced it was day if not for the shadows and stars still visible in the sky. The light concentrates on the gleaming blade, sticking out of a pedestal and sparkling orange and white and blue as the light plays around it.
(This… must have been what the others saw, on their adventures.)
Hyrule pushes back the emotion and takes a soft step forward, boots sinking into the thick grass.
(It’s incredible that he never found this place before. With the magic hiding it, protecting the sword, he supposes one needs to know where to look.)
He comes to a stop at the foot of the pedestal, footsteps against stone. He assesses the worn leather grip, the chipped edges on the golden-orange blade. (The evidence of his brothers in the make of it, the wear of it, the magic that twines around and through it.)
“Well, Fi,” Hyrule whispers, and it feels like the wind answers. “It’s nice to meet you, officially.”

Also wanted to acknowledge the reference image I used that inspired Legend's facial features: I couldn't find the original poster, but loved their image of EOW Zelda vs Echo Link. Here's the signature if anyone knows them. I couldn't quite read it or find their actual links
The shape of his eyes and hair were greatly inspired by the image. And obviously, his design in general is inspired by jojo's LU comic :)

The funny part is it's not even that bad... just super not well executed haha. (I mean, what fic are you referring to? I'm sure that doesn't exist in my google doc, this is not the fic you're looking for---)
So pretty much, it's a Young Justice fic - that was the first fandom I ever found, by accident, after I was curious about what Robin's real name was from Teen Titans (2004). (The episode where they teased the briefcase and then never showed us what was inside haunts me to this day.)
That spiraled into a revitalization of my love of Teen Titans, and also led to my finding out about young justice, where there was hope for an identity reveal (it apparently happened off screen, which I found out later, after binging the identity reveal fics and spending hours looking for the clip XD)
Anyway, I love identity reveal fics and decided to try one of my own:
In this fic, Young Justice is trying to protect Dick Grayson, but then Robin disappears, gasp! So, of course, the logical assumption is that Dick Grayson, who popped up in the same location Robin disappeared, is obviously the cause of Robin's disappearance. Cue suspicion, kidnapping, and Robin weighing whether or not to reveal his identity while being beyond frustrated that his teammates won't let this go. "Robin's fine, guys, I promise!" KF (as the sole team member who knows Robin's identity and who was suspiciously absent thus far in the story -- *cough for the angst and threadbare plot cough* ) comes back and mediates, before Robin decides to reveal his identity after all, to dropped jaws and many apologies XD
So although I'll never remake and post this one, it was a good first attempt at identity reveal and misunderstandings, which are still some of my favorite tropes to play with :)
Another fun fact, this one technically wasn't my first fanfic. The first first fanfic was actually a continuation of Gravity by
mizufallsfromkumo on Ao3. I loved the story, and was dying for the reveal, but they hadn't gotten to that point in the story, so I wrote a couple chapters for myself to help me cope XD That one still lives in my docs too haha
I spent like... all this week trying to think up a way to get Time (the character) where I needed him in this time travel chaos fic, and this morning, I had an epiphany, regarding reasonable and believable limits to put on his ocarina and I'm like yes! This makes sense! I'll send Time to (redacted).
And then.
I start writing an interaction between Time and Lullaby, and with no planning, with no hesitation, out of nowhere Time says, "well what about this option you've never thought of and that will greatly complicate your plot, and that will get me to my boys faster?"
And I know that's what he'd do because he's a stubborn one and wants to get to his boys, but he can't yet because plot. So... I am currently in a standoff with a character, trying to figure out if I need to put some roadblocks on his plan, or to just let the guy go for it XD
The inherent problem of writing a time-travel story, and knowing that no matter what you do, people will be thinking of a person when you're trying to write about a concept XD
Hi everyone! Question: How many times has Legend defeated Ganon at this point?? I know he did in ALTTP, the Oracles Linked Ending, and technically via Yuga in ALBW. I feel like I'm maybe missing one but maybe not?
