ReddSterling is a young soul with dreams that transcend his humble beginnings. Although he was born and raised in the south, his sound was established in Compton, California at the ripe age of 16. That is where he began writing songs and rapping with his older brother just as a mode of expression. He soon realized that he had some real talent that could be cultivated into dynamic art. Not being afraid to take risks, ReddSterling can be found singing on some of his tracks facilitating his lyrical art. Currently residing in Austell, Georgia (about 20 minutes outside of Atlanta) ReddSterling is working on performing at various venues in Atlanta to get a buzz circulating while continuing to build on his sound. This courageous, young MC takes influences from Future to the hip-hop collective, Pro Era, working on a creative sound with potential to develop into one of the most unique sounds coming out of Atlanta. #Videographer D NYSE Shaw

I had the chance to speak with a videographer out of Peoria, Illinois by the name of D NYSE Shaw with Breakin Bread Ent. He never went to school for videography, but he said he always used to play with a camera. It wasn't until his friend Juganot, a rapper out of Peoria, got serious with music that D NYSE also took his own craft more seriously.

Now 32 years old, D NYSE has been in the game for about 16 years. I asked him how he got his name, and he told me the streets named him. The streets aren't only responsible for his name, but the streets of Illinois motivate him to keep grinding. Coming out of an area where gunshots and poverty are the norm, his biggest motivation is to get his family out of the streets. But in the mean time, he continues to shoot videos putting himself in positions that many wouldn't just to get a good shot. He even said he'd "jump in front of gunfire." This videographer describes himself as a One-Man Army as he edits, directs, and shoots videos by himself. However, he also pointed this out as his one downfall, because he takes on the entire load with no production team and it sometimes can be discouraging. Shooting videos for a lot of local artists in the area like Juganot, Swallay, and DVS Vegas, he says he prefers listening to and drawing inspiration from local artists over industry artists, because they are hungrier and express a lot more pain and passion in their music. The artists he shoots videos for complement his own style that he described as "real, street, graphic, and original." He described industry artists as very monotonous and unoriginal with a lot of auto-tune. However, he said he's willing to work with anybody who is motivated. I asked D NYSE what his definition of success was and he answered saying he had no definition. He went on to say it's because he hasn't made it there yet, and success is uncommon where he comes from. To him success is always a dream. However, it is important to stay hungry and humble, never to lose focus, and stay creative. Coming out of Peoria, which is about 2 hours outside of Chicago, he wants people to know that Chicago isn't the only city in Illinois with talent. He is an upcoming director who isn't trying to be famous. He just wants to be recognized for the talent he possesses. Originally from Albany, New York, KT Burke is a rapper with a purpose. Coming out of Grand Rapids, Michigan and maintaining a clean image with non-offensive lyrics, KT Burke's aim is to uplift the genre of music he fell in love with. Unlike many of your favorite industry rappers, KT Burke stays away from profane words, insensitivity to women, and lyrics romanticizing the harsh reality of the drug game or gang banging. But don't let his approach mislead you. This hip-hop artist still brings the heat with clever word play, complementing samples, and content that elevates him to the next level. Through his study of other artists and various genres of music, he brings energy to his game that is demanding attention and recognition of true talent. Although he maintains a clean image by making sure his music is suitable for all ears, he is not afraid to take on any rapper that challenges him. As a matter of fact, his love for hip-hop began with a simple freestyle challenge among friends. However, his love for music extended beyond battle rap into a insatiable thirst that has him grinding for something much more than fame, but conscious awareness of what hip-hop really has to offer as a movement. The image associated with hip-hop is tainted with unbecoming female images, black on black crime, and unrealistic ideals. KT Burke discredits rappers who feed into this hype to sell records. Turning down opening acts for rappers like Kid Ink, Yo Gotti, and Curren$y, KT Burke's image is something he withholds with fervency. Recently opening up for rapper T-Pain in Grand Rapids, Michigan, KT expresses he need to respect any rapper he works with. In an industry where respect is worth more than a check, KT Burke is on the right path to high esteem, impressing the likes of those who respect his positive grind.
