It seems my blog has been shadow banned. 🥴 I can't write replies to posts and I can't see messages. My other blog was unbanned ten days after I wrote to tech support. Let's see what happens with this blog. Last time the reason was that my VPN made my activity look suspicious. But this time I logged into my tumblr with VPN very rarely, only when I forgot to turn it off. So I don't even know… 😭

I can and probably will write a long essay about why Durge/Bogdan looks the way he does. But I'm too lazy. So here's just a quick sketch. Here he looks older than he does now in my drawings, but someday (if I don't get bored) in my AU he will grow up to look like this too. He has severe dermatitis all over his body, sometimes these spots bleed and often itch. Most of the time he just wears pants and at best also puts on boots. So, despite how tragic it is for me, he has terribly rough, calloused and dirty feet. He got the scar on his lips in childhood, when his older sister Arina "played" with him.

I wrote an unnecessarily long text about my inspiration for creating Bogdan

I created Bogdan from two parts.

The first is Russian and Tatar cultures and in particular fairy tales, or rather their similarities and differences, which have fascinated me since childhood. Tatars and Russians have been neighboring nations since ancient times, but due to the difference in cultures and lifestyles, and also because they often fought with each other, the fairy tales and legends of these nationalities sometimes have very interesting features and nuances in comparison with each other.

I wanted to make a character that looks a lot like a Russian Bogatyr (some kind of medieval superhero) and even has some of the same qualities (Bogdan is big and strong, quite cunning and not stupid), but like… you look at him through the eyes of a person from another culture, so he seems fucking creepy to you, lol.

I was especially inspired by the hero Alyosha Popovich. The youngest hero from the classic trio of Russian Bogatyrs. In fairy tales, he is a positive character, but if you look closely at the stories with him, he is actually a very... dubious character, even if you look at him from the point of view of Russian folklore. For example, he tried to fuck the wife of his older comrade, trying to convince her that her husband was dead. Like what, excuse me?!?!?! And in many ways, unlike his older comrades, he relied more on ingenuity and cunning than on physical strength. He often has a rather wicked and black sense of humor. And in some stories he even had physical flaws.
