because you're here, and I'm here, and I love her, I will also take this opportunity to talk about 3 of my favorite roles of hers:

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

She's a mercenary. She's in love with Chow Yun Fat and he's in love with her but they can't do anything about it because she used to be engaged to his best friend/brother who died 10 years ago or something. The yearning is off the charts. She's technically just a side character but this movie is a masterpiece of subtle acting while also involving characters flying through the air sword fighting. 10/10 amazing movie, amazing performance, I'm gonna watch this again, I love it.

2. Star Trek: Discovery

She begins as Captain Georgiou of the USS Shenzhou, being a mentor and overall excellent Starfleet Captain and then she dies and you're like, well, that was an excellent time with Golden Globe Winner Michelle Yeoh, wish we'd gotten more of her. AND THEN YOU MEET EVIL TERRAN EMPEROR PHILIPPA GEORGIOU

LISTEN SHE GETS TO BE THE MIRROR UNIVERSE EVIL VERSION OF HERSELF AND SHE WEARS LEATHER AND KICKS ASS AND ADDS EXTRA GRAY MORALITY TO STAR TREK AND ROLLS HER EYES AT STARFLEET AND DID I MENTION SHE KICKS ASS?

3. Everything Everywhere All at Once

I've only seen this once. It's ridiculous. It's charming. It's full of heart and ADHD and love and regret and super weird alternate universe shenanigans and Golden Globe Winner Michelle Yeoh carries you through it.

I just think she's neat.
