Gavin didn’t think the guy would agree with him, but he did. It seemed as strange as he was, they still had some morals in common. Gavin just nodded along. “He really does. So you’re going to take him there, then? You’ll make sure the little guy is safe?” Children were innocent. They deserved the best protection possible. He didn’t need to realize the ugliness of his past just yet.

“Yes I shall take him there, but we’re still not sure if he’s special or not, so he could just be a normal child. Maybe bringing him to the PROTECT won’t do hime good. Maybe I just need to bring him to an orphanage.” Sylar said. But of course he was going to bring him in to the PROTECT. The kid belongs there...even when he’s not that special.

Gavin sighed, pursing his lips, thankful the other guy didn’t know his allegiance. “Honestly? The closest to the right authorities would be PROTECT. Everyone knows the police would just turn the child into Nexus and god knows the child would be better being raised by you than even spending one minute with Nexus.”

Sylar had not really an idea on which side this guy stood on. Sylar was used to people not being nice to him...but this guy really looked like he wanted to be Sylar’s enemy. “Right.. PROTECT ...I think that’s a good choice. This kid deserves a chance to live like he wants to live.”

“Never said I was,” Gavin gave a small shrug. “What,” he teased, avoiding the question, “are you asking me for advice?”

“Well...if you say it like that. For once I’m asking for your opinion. Just this once, so enjoy it. Who do you think are the right authorities?”

.“Proper authorities are definitely not you, buddy.” Gavin sighed, crossing his arms. “And, I wouldn’t put that past you.”

“I wouldn’t say you are that either. So...who do you think the proper authorities are again?” Sylar asked his question again.

Gavin rolled his eyes sighing. “Well if you are telling the truth then maybe you need to take that kid to the proper authorities instead of just hanging around with him. His life could be in danger.”

“What would be the proper authorities to you? Who knows I’m even telling you the truth. I could have just killed his parents to kidnap him.” Sylar always liked it to play with people’s minds.

“Are you serious?” Gavin didn’t know if he was the kind of guy to make dark jokes like that, but he wouldn’t put it past him.

“Maybe I am, maybe I am not.” Sylar grinned. “Who knows.” Sylar knew it was true, but he had to deliver the kid to the protect, but needed to keep a watch on him.

“Why wouldn’t his parents know who he is?” Gavin was more wart now, wondering if he had kidnapped the child. However, the bitter laugh and grimace made his feelings known. Yet through gritted teeth he repeated to himself, “good boy… this guy.”

“Because aparently someone has erased their memory and I found them unconscious attacked on the floor. Something is going on with this kid worth killing.” Sylar said calmly.

Sylar stood in front of the building thinking of what he was actually doing there. He really didn’t want to go inside, because he really wasn’t interested. Maybe he could just go inside and do nothing at all. At least he’ll have proof that he has actually been there. He took his phone and looked at the schedule. He slowly walked towards the entrance and suddenly he bumped into someone. “Sorry.” He said quickly putting away his phone. “Was looking at the schedule.”

“Wait, do his parents even know you have him?” Gavin asked, not reflecting a smile in return, only watching the man in front of him. “Sure,” he started. “Sounds like a deal.”

“Nope,  I don’t even know if his parents know who he is.” Sylar said. “You see, it’s not that bad, isn’t it? I knew you could be a good boy.”

Event Headcanon

Sylar doesn’t feel like going to the Nexpo, but he has to go anyway. He has to learn about all the new things on the market and so he decides to attend the expo. He’ll try not to screw up things and will try to keep a low profile. During the event he’ll also follow the live tweets on his phone. @not_a_hero as he was told not to use his normal name or nobody would follow him. His profile pic is an eternal clock so that he’s not really reckognized. Only his coworkers know who is behind the twitter account.

“Ehhh, alright I’ll take your word for it.” Noa really didn’t need any further details. “Hey, I doubt I’d do any good as a parent either, so,” she shrugged, having little desire for a kid anyway. “Whatever, man, you knew what I meant. You just borrow ‘em for a bit. It sounds way better than babysitting.”

“Borrowing, really sounds worse than babysitting. It’s like you’re using the kid for something...that’s not better is it?” Sylar looked at the woman.

“Okay, great,” Gavin kept his palms pointed at the other man, not wanting him to get too excited. “Babies cry a lot.” Gavin didn’t have much experience but everyone knew babies cry. “Messy diapers, gas. The kid’ll stop crying, but it’ll take a while. Crying babies attract people too.”

“Yeah, I know that babies cry a lot. This one didn’t wanted to stop crying when his parents had left him alone at home.” Sylar looked at the kid. “No neighbours came to look expect for me. So a kid crying does not always attract people and eventually he will stop crying. They can’t cry forever, can they?” Sylar smiled at Gavin. “So as long as you behave, I’ll behave.”

While Noa found the other guy a little odd, if he had a baby with him, he couldn’t be too bad. “So whose this kid again? Your friend Peter’s?” She couldn’t remember if he even told her. “Mm, well, I think it comes down to whether you want a kid or not. If you do, you’d be willing to make the sacrifices necessary. If not, then enjoy your life without ‘em… and occasionally borrow them from your friends.”

“No, he’s from another friend.  I don’t want a kid at the moment, I don’t think I’ll be a good dad either. Sometimes...I do stuff my child never can see.” Sylar smiled. He didn’t want his kids become a monster like he is. “Borrow them from my friends? This is called babysitting, never heard of it?”

He grimaced slightly. “Well, it’s not my fault if you can’t control yourself,” he urged and then gestured to the child. “At least do it for the boy. You don’t want to upset him and get him crying.” Still, he kept his distance.

“I can control myself!” Sylar said full confidence. He knew it was still an issue, but Peter kind of trusted him so that was the only thing that mattered to him. “If I do something, this boy wouldn’t even notice and eventually the kid will stop crying.”

“I won’t…I know enough stuff about babies.” Sylar said without even thinking. He didn’t really know how to take care of a child. “So funny that this tiny little human will become as big as us. Peter is not my husband! He’s a friends of mine!”

“Cool then,” Noa nodded, feeling more relieved but still crossing her arms so she wouldn’t have to hold the baby. “It’s funny how vulnerable we are for so long. Can’t even hold up our own heads.” She let out a breath of a laugh. “Alright, chill, man, I was just wondering who he was. Why does it matter if he thinks you should have a baby or not? Sounds like he’s your keeper. Not your friend.”

“Yeah, soon he won’t be vulnerable anymore and he’ll become a strong boy.” Sylar smiled knowing that this kid will have powers too, only not much people know it. “Because I get different assignments from him and with a kid that would be difficult. I’m also not really the person someone wants  to get a child with.”
