Akagami no Shirayuki-hime

Shirayuki is a beautiful girl working as a medicine woman with red hair, a color that is considered very rare. When she is proposed and chased after by the prince of her country, she cuts her hair and runs away, only to meet Zen, the prince of a neighboring country. Finding respect for the young man, she decides to serve at his side as his court doctor (Anime News Network).

Hello! I found this blog while searching about the series, and I thought maybe you could help me with something. I really like the the designs of the clothing in the series, and I wonder if you know what influenced or inspired the author for them? like if the author said something about it in the past or something. I tried searching about it but couldn't really find anything

Hi! Unfortunately, I do not know how you can find the information myself. My best guess is checking out the occasional mangaka/creator’s notes that may appear in a chapter (the ¼ text boxes found on either the left side or bottom of a page). Fortunately, Viz Media has licensed the series for English and it is expected to be released sometime in Spring 2019. From other series I have read, mangaka talk about how they came up with the series in early volumes.

Akizuki-san is just saying these are two drawings of Shirayuki. She also comments that the illustrations were drawn on white paper despite the lighting of the hotel she was staying in.

The two illustrations are going to be raffle gifts detailed in the July issue of LaLa (the magazine Akagami no Shirayuki-hime is serialized in). Akizuki-san wants it herself! She also thanks the cast for their work on the two upcoming drama CDs (One is available in the July LaLa issue while the other is for the 19th volume of the manga.)

Hi! To my knowledge, there are no official English releases of “Akagami no Shirayuki-hime”. You can read it online on Batoto (an account is required).
