I don’t know how he pulls off that pink get up and can still pull off such charm. He is truly not of human origins. Demi-god is back.

World Team Trophy 2021
Videos and an article:
SP + FS + backstage (JPN commentary)
SP + FS (google drive, thanks to Sue Moon)
ISU, we have a serious problem. Your judges don’t know your own rules…
Team Japan medal ceremony (Yuzu and Kaori gave each other medals and bouquets, so cute, haha)
Gala, ‘Hana wa Saku’ (Chinese commentary)
No-commentary videos (thanks to Dasani)
“For the tenth time in his glorious career, his total score in an international competition exceeded 300 points.” –Max Ambesi
Moments to remember:
“Hanyu Shuzo”: Because Yuzu said he will borrow Shuzo-san’s “hotness” (enthusiasm/passion) and become Hanyu Shuzo to cheer for Team Japan, Japanese TV news showed ‘Hanyu Shuzo’ at the K&C cheering for his team. The commentator said “he uses his whole body”, haha. Btw, the band on his forehead says “ichiban” (Number One). And he’s so kind to Rika who has been having back pain, telling her “you did well” (ganbatta) and “did it hurt?” –my translation from this video. And a longer video here.
4A challenge during gala rehearsal: video clip and my brief translation here (will update post if video gets subbed later)
“May I become a light for someone.” – When he was going for Worlds (Stockholm) and returning from there, the plane was so empty and the airport was so empty that you wonder if it’s really an airport, and it made him feel keenly that many people are still out of work and are in difficult situations. And so, he wants to skate with the thought that perhaps he can be a light for someone else, so he chose this phrase for WTT. –my brief translation from the video here. Detailed translation here.
During ‘Hana wa Saku’, fans turned on their phone lights for Yuzu, to show their love and support, to say ‘we will be the light for you too’. What a beautiful gesture….. :’)
Photos: much thanks to Japanese media and twitter fans.
Added: Translations of his WTT interviews: axelwithwings (thanks to the team!)
World Figure Skating Championships 2021

Gala- ‘Hana wa Saku’ (with Eng subs of lyrics)
“Yuzuru Hanyu for the seventh time in his eight entries won a World Championships medal. After the Second World War, only the German Jan Hoffmann won seven medals.” – Max Ambesi
Yuzuru is now one of the top six most decorated men’s world medalists. Credit
Dearest Yuzu, you’re the best. You’re always Number One for me!
