Laigle de Meaux, as the reader knows, lived more with Joly than elsewhere.
He had a lodging, as a bird has one on a branch.
The two friends lived together, ate together, slept together.
They had everything in common, even Musichetta, to some extent. They were,
what the subordinate monks who accompany monks are called, bini.

By the way, I’ll also have some exciting news to share around this fall in addition to the merchandise release!
I can’t reveal the details yet, but I’d be really happy if you keep following along until then!

Thank you very much for your kind message!💙
Once the LHB manga serialization reaches its final chapter,
I plan to gradually start selling the digital comic and new merchandise.
Of course, I will prepare it so that people outside Japan will also be able to purchase them.
Since the ROCK version was well received, I’m thinking of including it in the merchandise lineup as well, so I hope you’ll look forward to it!
It’s still a little way off, but I’m planning to start working on the merchandise projects within this year.
Right now, in addition to LHB,
I’m also serializing another manga with a Japanese label
(I’m currently working on a manga adaptation of the novel The Amberglow Candy Store!).
Because I’m working on two manga series at the same time, it’s difficult for me to create new LHB artwork at the moment.
After I finish drawing the main LHB story, however, I think I’ll be able to create illustrations more frequently!

Thank you very much for reading my question about social media 🙇
Although I update less frequently there than on X and Tumblr,
once my serialization settles down I’d like to start posting more actively on other platforms as well.
If you’d like, I would really appreciate it if you could follow me on Instagram and BlueSky too! 🙏
I’ll leave the links below.

Hello everyone!
I have a question for you.
I’m thinking about increasing the opportunities to share my manga,
and I was wondering which social media platforms your friends in your language community use the most.
If possible, I’d really appreciate it if you could tell me where it might be best to post and share my work.
Thank you very much!
“To be free,” said Combeferre.

I’ve created an article featuring an interview with a French language coach about the origin of the name “Friends of the ABC”!
It also includes insights into my manga-making process.
The article is in Japanese, but if you can use a translation tool, I’d be very happy if you gave it a read!💙
Citizens,
the nineteenth century is great,
but the twentieth century will be happy.
Then, there will be nothing more
like the history of old;
we shall no longer, as to-day,
have to fear
a conquest,
an invasion,
a usurpation,
a rivalry of nations, arms in hand,
an interruption of civilization
depending on a marriage of kings,
on a birth in hereditary tyrannies,
a partition of peoples by a congress,
a dismemberment because of the failure of a dynasty,
a combat of two religions meeting face to face,
like two bucks in the dark,
on the bridge of the infinite;
we shall no longer have to fear
famine,
farming out,
prostitution arising from distress,
misery from the failure of work,
and the scaffold and the sword,
and battles,
and the ruffianism of chance
in the forest of events.
One might almost say:
There will be no more events.
We shall be happy.
From Les Misérables
“It is a piece of eight, new model, brass,” added Combeferre.
“Let me alone. It must be done.”
And a tear trickled slowly down Enjolras’ marble cheek.
Courfeyrac had a father who was called M. de Courfeyrac.
One of the false ideas of the bourgeoisie under the Restoration as regards aristocracy and the nobility was to believe in the particle.
The particle, as every one knows, possesses no significance.
But the bourgeois of the epoch of la Minerve estimated so highly that poor de, that they thought themselves bound to abdicate it.
M. de Chauvelin had himself called M. Chauvelin; M. de Caumartin, M. Caumartin; M. de Constant de Robecque, Benjamin Constant; M. de Lafayette, M. Lafayette.
Courfeyrac had not wished to remain behind the rest, and called himself plain Courfeyrac.
FROM Les Misérables
An English-speaking reader kindly pointed this out just now:
Among the two unnamed characters who appear in Les Misérables,
the artillery sergeant shot by Enjolras is named after Julien Sorel from Stendhal’s The Red and the Black.
The other one—previously pointed out by a Korean-speaking reader—is the boy whom Combeferre watches over at the hospice, whose name comes from Rousseau’s Émile.
Even though only a Japanese version has been released so far, I’m truly grateful that readers notice details like this. 🥲
Enjolras himself offered him a glass of water, and, as Javert was pinioned, he helped him to drink.
“Is that all?” inquired Enjolras.
“I am uncomfortable against this post,” replied Javert.
“You are not tender to have left me to pass the night here. Bind me as you please, but you surely might lay me out on a table like that other man.”
And with a motion of the head, he indicated the body of M. Mabeuf.
