If you happen to know me, I suppose no pleasantries are necessary. If you don’t however, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you!

You may call me Erik (or Akira), I go by he/him and I do all kinds of stuff here (if the stars align and all that jazz).

It's not like there are many posts for it on this blog anyways, I would however like to streamline the experience a bit + actually start posting about my little brain worm project (pun intended, but I've not yet made the arrangements for it to make sense)

Yes, when the original post is deleted from the server (not just the blog, but the Tumblr servers), there is no root post for notes to be added onto, and also no root post for time to be counted from, so it starts from zero. Most computer operating systems use Unix, which was launched in 1971 with t.he epoch date of midnight on January 1, 1970 as 1. Therefore zero is one second behind that date: December 31, 1969. Also, very unfortunately, this also means nobody except you and anyone you reblog it to will see this explanation, as you cannot open the notes to see comments when there are no notes.

I am trying to rattle up my brains to run CAIN for my friends, but I am so brain dead on designing a CAT appropriate hunt!

I thought I got the ropes as I brainstormed the investigation process but then somewhere along the way I got stuck on - wait, this sounds more like a CAT 3!!

Could anyone on here give me some advice? I'll take examples of y'all' first hunts as well!

we definitely need more (read: literally ANY PLAYABLE) fat representation in arknights. even among npcs the best we've got is Jiang Reunionjoy, and given he's a comic relief chef it's not exactly the normalization of varied and diverse body types i WANT in AK. and so i am IMMENSELY grateful for all the AK fanartists willing to draw our girls with the thick necks and double chins they deserve. braver than our troops.

but it is also interesting that even on the world of terra where some people are giant bipedal owls or rats with barely any human features, there is also pretty unambiguously a bias against fat people. and like there are some doylist biases clearly leaking through in the designs of NPCs like the default victorian nobleman and the enemy named "fatty", but it's also something characters engage with directly - haruka and platinum are both calorie-counting and actively concerned about putting on weight, while franka in the blacksteel comic epilogue is embarrassed by her weight gain while at RI.

idk, no-one in arknights' english translation has used 'fat' as an explicit insult, only a descriptor, and internalized fatphobia by female characters keeps showing up in capitalist countries. there's no coherent POINT here, i just think it's interesting looking at how AK's authors and artists frame fatness.

I would actually go as far as to say that MOST abuse is unintentional. I think most people will go through their lives without ever experiencing intentional abuse. People are abusive because they're selfish, because they're stressed, because they care more about what society thinks they should do than the impacts of their actions on their children and partners, because they think what they're doing is correct, because they've made it make sense in their own heads, because they think they can fix their victims, they think they can fix their relationships, they think they can stop you from leaving, they think they can make you a better partner to them, they think that means you need to do what they want. We've sort of constructed mental illness in a way that doing this shit to other people counts as a form of mental illness because it is anti social behavior in the literal sense— it is behavior that causes social harm.

I don't say any of this to excuse it. I think everyone needs to be more aware of this because if you think abuse has to be intentional you will never realize you are capable of abusive behavior. You will never realize you are being shitty to the people you love, because YOU know what you mean, YOU know you don't mean any harm. But you're doing harm. You need to pay attention to the impact you have on other people, and you need to do it all the time, Especially when you feel least capable of doing so. Sorry! You live in a society. Get your head out of your ass.

I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad
