the candidate's lingo was duly noted... and spoofed....
in honour of the ban on political satire that never was (it's not like we didn't tell you about the censors in your head)
OPM obliges civil servants who are local council candidates to take 15 days unpaid leave.
During a Times leadership debate between Lawrence Gonzi and Joseph Muscat a mysterious Bugibba resident takes over the crucial "last question". He stands up to quote from a book about local councils and devolution before getting to the point. The state of public conveniences in Bugibba.
Instability or incontinence?

From the Times Comments boards (where else) Victor Bonello discovers ADRILANINE, presumably an organic chemical linked to PHENYLALANINE and all the LALAs of the spectrum.

I cannot understand why people are so narrow minded.Franco Debono has injected adrilanine into the heart of a technically dead PN.
J'accuse inaugurates its own meme series. Satire publications and Shit-hits-the-fan productions proudly present The Franco Debono Hijacks Bondi+ meme.
Animals I have seen on my honeymoon: seals, stingrays, mongoose(s), warblers, pelicans, loadsafish (too many to list), reindeer, cats, flamingoes, lions, tortoises, barracudas (yeah that's fish too), huge lizards, hermit crabs (big 'uns), lobsters, coyotes, otters... nature rocks!
Did you know that the Americans put main courses under the heading "entree" on the menu?
Just because you thought that the last book that you read was shite does not mean that the next one you pick up will be a page-turning unputtdownable thriller. In other words for every action that brings down a government be prepared for some real soul-searching not to elect a worse band than the last. Even if the "worse" in the last sentence is a very subjective assessment. - J'accuse thoughts on holiday.

The Human Race
"My own view is that this planet is used as a penal colony, lunatic asylum and dumping ground by a superior civilisation, to get rid of the undesirable and unfit. I can't prove it, but you can't disprove it either." - Christopher Hitchens
That Daily Infusion
“Every day, the New York Times carries a motto in a box on its front page. 'All the News That's Fit to Print,' it says. It's been saying it for decades, day in and day out. I imagine most readers of the canonical sheet have long ceased to notice this bannered and flaunted symbol of its mental furniture. I myself check every day to make sure that the bright, smug, pompous, idiotic claim is still there. Then I check to make sure that it still irritates me. If I can still exclaim, under my breath, why do they insult me and what do they take me for and what the hell is it supposed to mean unless it's as obviously complacent and conceited and censorious as it seems to be, then at least I know I still have a pulse. You may wish to choose a more rigorous mental workout but I credit this daily infusion of annoyance with extending my lifespan.” - Christopher Hitchens
Judge the Voter
DCG makes a good point here. If you're tempted to listen to Silvio Parnis, Michael Farrugia, Marlene Mizzi, Karmenu Vella, Jose Herrera, Edward Scicluna, Consuelo Scerri Herrera (?), Charles Mangion, Anthony Zammit, Anglu Farrugia and Joseph Muscat just remember that they all voted to make KMB Prime Minister in 1992.
Then again, by that very same rationale, if you're tempted to listen to Daphne Caruana Galizia just remember that not only did she vote for Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando in 2008, she also backed him to the hilt and shot down anyone who disagreed.
(shot down metaphorically of course ... don't confuse your Bidnijas with your tal-Barranis).
I wish I could experience the same feeling my cats do whenever they find a new clean litter and proceed to soil it without wondering for one second where all the old litter went and how close to throwing up I was while emptying their shit.
Gone was the time of populism and superficiality. A people was judged by the courage of its decisions. - Dr Lawrence Gonzi
