Mackerel test complete! 🎏
Really happy with how these new patterns are coming out, sockeye salmon is up next!
Made with 100% wool felt
don't rock the boat!
The velvet worm Austroperipatus eridelos photographed by Gil Wizen!
My recent trip to Polish/Czech mountains reminded me of working on this series of illustrations for the Carved in Stone book 🖤 while our countries are far away, all the beautiful heathers, ferns and mossy rocks reminded me of making the reasearch for these! I'm still so, so happy and thankful I had a chance to work on them.
No better time to share some more snippets of these then. 🖤 The book is still available if you'd like to experience the whole thing!

The Riven half of the new trophy icons for the Classic PS1 re-release! My favourite world to draw, and super fun getting to draw some alternate universe Gehns for a couple of the bad endings.
(The Myst trophy icons)
(Also you can get a blanket with all of these on it at the Cyan store! It rules)
"The Fencing World Championships will introduce the "Sword Tip Visualization System." This system was developed by Japanese engineers, used at the Tokyo Olympics, and can track and display the sword tip's movement trajectory without any markers." (X)
This website explains the process of our development from 2012 to the present.
here is more about the technology!
I love this technology. It lets me actually understand what is going on and see how one fencer is able to get through by taking advantage of their opponent's large, open swings by tightly controlling how they move their own sword in smaller, more controlled circles.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds
I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study
after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines
et voila
and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)
there should be a cool, chill way to say things like “I’m struggling” or “I’m having a hard time” that doesn’t imply you might have needs
Man if you wanna be sold on fantasy flight as a game system play a fucking two episode heist where you're cutting between turns of combat and some high tension social shit, splitting everyone up into their own specialties heist style, and then culminating in a crazy shootout as all the pieces come crashing back together.
I love 5e but the fluid turn length allowing for that kind of very cinematic a plot b plot stuff to feel right is crazy good as a system element alongside the resource pool dance. Especially now that everyone has a better sense of how they can use all the tools. (I'm sure it helps that Ash is an outstanding DM, but I play 5e with him too and it's very clear that this is a system strength.)
Strong rec for Edge of the Empire. Outstanding game.
