BYLER VS BYCHANCE: Battle of Crack ships😂

Sorry I'm tagging this as mileven but it's a funny story and I wanted to share.

I was going through old stranger things posts and came across an anti bychance tag.

Turns out ,before season 5, bylers were in a ship war with Bychance shippers.

Its funny because the Bylers were using arguments like Bychance is never going to happen, the shippers are delusional, it's a crack ship that's gone too far.

They were literally describing themselves and defending their own crack ship by insulting another. According to them Will's 'love' for Mike is sacrosanct and he cannot love anyone else.

At least some of the bylers had the self awareness to realise that they sounded like Mileven shippers when we defended our canon ship. I'm glad that they got to have a taste how we felt.

I think if it stays away from their eyes, disliking anyone is fine. Like I don't like François, but if I met him I'd be nice. But I don't go out of my way to watch him or anything. I think there is a line people cross a lot online, like on twitter.

Actors are in the public eye and queer or not, they should be called on their crap like anyone else. No one would hold back from calling out an actor because they were straight!

I never got involved with the shipping war because I think it's super weird, but I do think there are people who dislike him and it's not because of shipping.

I'm not a fan of him and it has nothing to do with the Hudson or Connor. Not gonna bully the guy, but he has said some things that have made me pause. Maybe it's the sarcasm thing that someone else said? I'm not sure.

It's fine to dislike an actor. I have many actors I don't like for no good reason. It's the bullying that's wrong.

My initial opinion was not about Francois. It's about the toxicity that has infected the fandom as a whole. It always happens because humans can never be peaceful. Fighting and hating is what we do best, it seems.

Okay so we need to stop babying Hudson and Connor, but the minute anyone says anything negative about François people whip out the homophobic and ageist card.

No. I'm a gay man around his age and I won't sit here and say his actions aren't concerning. He has said some very passive aggressive things about Hudson and it wasn't just the MFK thing.

Calling Hudson kiddo, but supposedly dating his costar. Saying he'd kill Shane because it's just so weird, but marry Ilya.. why is it weird, why did he need to say that. Making a comment about Ilya and Scott getting together when you already know some fans don't like you. Calling Hudson chronically online when asked if he'd received any people coming out to him like Hudson has.

Plus he is constantly running his mouth. He's 40 years old and at first I wanted to believe him when he said he was watching out for his younger costars, but he comes off as jealous of their fame. He's been in this for 20 years and this is the most famous he's been and he's riding the coattails.

Anyone with eyes can see he's shady and I'm sick of us not being allowed to say it because he's the only openly queer actor. That shouldn't stop us from speaking our mind on him and as a queer man myself, I'll say it for those of us who can't.

Get the fuck out of my asks if you want to vent about him. I'm not the Francois defence team leader.

The vast majority of the HR fandom on tumblr/tiktok/reddit/insta likes Francois just fine. It's just a pocket of particularly parasocial twitter stans that are constantly crashing out because their RPF ship isn't real and have decided he must pay for their delusions.

Unfortunately, there are many in number.

Heated rivalry won't beat the "straight woman fantasy" allegations because some of them are being homophobic to the out bi actor because he doesn't fit in their perfect fantasies.

Actors are real people. Let's respect that.

I’m not anti francois, but I do think his sarcasm doesn’t land with his audience/the shows audience. He doesn’t need anyone to stick up for him either…everybody is a grown up lol

The audience has chosen him as the villain of their narrative. Nothing he does will fix that.

Anyone who wants to hate him for such reasons needs to check themselves and find out the real reason.

They hate him for having an opinion. It's obvious he has a preference for Connor/Ilya. It's HIS choice.

To be fair. françois has made some passive aggressive comments about Hudson and about the shows fans. Clearly hasn't read the books and was insulting.

Most fandoms run on high reactions to everything. Everything is blown out of proportion by people seeking attention.

As far as I know, Francois hasn't outright insulted anyone. Him bringing up maybes for his character is not an insult to Hudson.

Fans need to stop acting like they need to protect Hudson and Connor from big, bad Francois.

They're adults who can deal with any issues they have privately. Trying to cancel him on twitter doesn't help the other actors in any way. It just creates a toxic environment.

But fans aren't mature enough for that.

The babyification of adult actors needs to be studied. Y'all aren't their mums.

Francois(in the toxic fan's eyes) is apparently the devil who's trying to steal the spotlight from Hudson and become Connor's Co-lead.

I decided to log out of the fandom when I saw how big the show got.

It was nice watching these underdogs make their way to the top. It's better to get out now for my mental health.

In the new Knight of the seven Kingdoms episode, Dunk pays the armour maker in stags.

I thought that only became the currency when the Baratheons took over.

WillEl is a great duo in fanon, but sucks in the show and is mostly helped by Millie and Noah's irl friendship.

People say El's final goodbye should have been to Will, and it leaves me confused. Why? Their so-called siblings' relationship is mostly offscreen.

Will low-key acts like an opp to El in the story.

He flirts with her boyfriend, calls her stupid(he didn't know better here), and desires the same attention Mike, her boyfriend, gives to her.

Will fans have a desire to centre every part of the show around him, and this leads to people over exaggerating his role in the story. I used to love him, but now I actually hate his character after interacting with them.
