sometimes the only explanation for what just happened is sex like it wasnt sex but narratively they just fucked we all saw it
Too bad the prophet Cassandra never met Odysseus
They say if she made a prophecy Nobody would believe her
I’ve gotta say, that is exactly the kind of stupid thing that probably would circumvent a curse.
Cassandra: YOU ARE ALL GOING TO REGRET THIS SO MUCH YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW.
Odysseus: Regret it why?
Cassandra: You won’t believe me if I tell you. If I prophecy, nobody believes me. That is my curse.
Odysseus: … I’m Nobody. Fill me in.
*A couple of months later*
Odysseus: HELLO PENELOPE, I AM HERE PRECISELY ON TIME AND NOT YEARS LATE incidentally I rescued and adopted a Trojan seer while I was away, she’s great, got me home really fast, Cassandra this is your new mother who’s not going to treat you like shit.
Penelope: … I’m going to need more details, but okay, sure.
Cassandra: *in tears* I love you, new family.
Cassandra: Penelope, I’ve had another vision.
Penelope, sighs: Go tell your father.

To everyone that’s like “oh Roxas and Xion and Namine had tragic endings it should’ve stayed that way it’s bad writing that they brought them back blah blah blah” let me raise you this: Kingdom Hearts isn’t a tragedy. That’s not what the games are about. When you have your main character be Sora, a kid who’s entire thing is seeing the best in people and spent the entire first game trying to find his friends, who will do literally anything to save people, is ride or die, you don’t just permanently kill off characters. Not like that.
ESPECIALLY when the whole point of those characters is that they are fighting to be their own people. That’s like the whole point of 358/2 btw. (Well not the whole point but it’s a big plot point) Roxas and Xion fought so hard to be their own people that it was literally making it impossible for Namine to fix Sora’s memories. Their whole arc, their whole thing, is that they want to be their own people. But everyone is telling them that they shouldn’t exist. And Xion accepts this, and Roxas does as well eventually, and it’s sad and tragic yeah. But why should these two people die at the expense of Sora living? Because they are their own people. They had their own hearts. Their own personalities. Roxas is Sora’s nobody, but he didn’t get his memories like the others, so he formed his own identity, created new memories, and gained a heart. Same with Xion.
And let me tell you this, I would bet so much money that if Sora knew that to bring him back meant that Roxas and Xion would disappear and basically die, he would’ve said no. He wouldn’t have agreed to it. We saw what he did in KH 3, he basically sacrificed himself to save his friends, and then extra sealed his fate to bring Kairi back. He wouldn’t ask someone else to make a sacrifice. But he would make the sacrifice himself.
If anything, I could make the argument that Sora should’ve stayed gone and we get a new protagonist for the games. Sora had a tragic ending, but a good one. He sacrificed himself to save everyone else. He misused the power of waking, a nature taboo, to bring everyone back and rewrite time to save everyone. And did it AGAIN to save Kairi. And I wouldn’t have been mad either if that was the ending we got. So, just throwing that out there.
So them finding a way to make Namine, Xion, and Roxas come back, to save them, give them a second chance and let them be their own people, is the perfect ending. Because Kingdom Hearts isn’t tragic. It’s not a tragedy. That’s not the genre of the game. Would it have been a fine ending if they stayed gone? Sure. But that’s not the overarching theme of these games. The theme is friendship and love prevails. And it did.

Daniil boasting about how brilliant and dangerous Artemy is to Death Itself is the most romantic thing he's ever done.
And he's on my side.
oouhh eva...
The image of Daniil attending Isidor's funeral (from a respectful distance) and then his thoughts about Artemy afterwards just show how much he actually respects Artemy's situation and how he's handling it. And the conversation they have later that day after Daniil has investigated Isidor's death and brings all of the information to Artemy is great too. If you choose not to pester him with your own theories when he doesn't want you to, the conversation ends respectfully. "Your hardy self will be just fine" is a casual statement but coming from Daniil it means a lot. You can tell he admires Artemy's strength and his will to shoulder so many burdens while being surrounded by people who disrespect him constantly. "I couldn't do that" and "I wouldn't forgive" kills me
that's one hell of an opener, artemy
Daniil, why is that your first thought?
Daniil "thinks about Artemy's gentle hands" Dankovsky
