“California?” he asked, carefully, since he had noted the sad tone in her voice. He was about to ask her the next question, if he was to move along with the lad, when she already continued speaking to which he only nodded. General security? “And what would my exact tasks be, if I might ask?” Bradley spoke at his turn, hands folded behind his back as he looked at his employer. “But I’ll do whatever you want me to, ma’am.”
“Yes. I will be sending another guard with him to California. You’re more needed here,” she explained. “You will be guarding the estate, mostly. You’ll accompany us for family events outside of the estate, like the other guards. You’ll also be required live in the guards’ quarters as part of the 24-hour surveillance.”
