The use of “Clair de Lune” just made me love this drama more.
When Come and Hug Me started, I thought, just like some others, that it had something similar to Rain or Shine (Just between Lovers). The setting of the characters and their ill-fated relationship as well as the beautiful cinematography certainly reminded me of Rain or Shine. It turned out, however, Come and Hug Me was much darker and gorier, which put the drama quite apart from Rain or Shine in the end. (I’m not saying this as a bad thing though. It’s just that they gave me different feels in the end.)
Now as I watched the first 4 episodes of Still 17, it reminded me of Rain or Shine more than Come and Hug Me did! Of course it’s really much lighter in tone with lots of comic moments, but somehow the well-made-ness, let alone the character setting and some of the details like the architecture models, the dog, the young actress who played young Moonsoo, and so on reminded me of Rain or Shine so much. Or maybe it’s just me. I seem to see everything in this Junho-centric perspective right now. Speaking of my biased perspective, while I was watching Still 17, I could not help but wish Wok of Love had been better-written and better-made with much more time to shoot and edit!

I just wanted to give a brief nod to the beautiful cinematography in the opening credits, and more specifically to the way in which it recalls the very first line in the series description:
This drama is not about the ‘wind’ that blows unexpectedly, but about the ‘fire’ that ever guards that place.
The ‘wind’ here symbolizes hardship, while the ‘fire’ stands for the strength to go on living. I think the main reason for the colored smoke in the opening (other than that it’s pretty), was so that we could have a visual for that ‘wind’ that surrounds the main characters.
This particular fade-through is my favorite bit, though, because it shows us that Kang Doo himself is the fire. He was always going to live and find happiness, because that was the message that his story was meant to convey - literally from the very beginning.

Junho, playing Seo Poong in Wok of Love, ep18, looked so much like a college student, I imagined him playing Aamir Khan’s role in Three Idiots.
Maybe not.
But if Junho and Chansung were to play alternate lead roles (Charlie and Lola) of Kinky Boots (not the film but the musical), I’m sure I’ll be on the next plane to Korea to see both versions. Wouldn’t it be something?

There’s a talking horse, but this is by far the most outrageous thing that’s happened in this show.
It’s a really common thing in kdramas though, to show a pretty person, then state that they’re ugly. Just remember the weight lifting princess. We were supposed to believe that she’s ugly AND huge af, that tiny, lovely flower face, like, seriously…
I was wondering if this could also mean that SW was trying to deny her being attracted to SP, for their one-night fling only works if they don’t have feelings for each other -- as it shouldn’t be a serious thing. Yet she couldn’t resist SP’s almond-like eyes, and she couldn’t help slapping SP when he said he’d make an almond dish for her because she probably knows she would have to admit her true feelings if she enjoys SP’s dish. SW was like that with CS, too.
