when darth maul says “join me” on mandalore, instead of turning him down, ahsoka takes a hot minute to realize how desperate he is both to be believed and also to be shown any amount of care and affection and says “no, you join me.” twelve hours later, she kicks down the door to padmé’s apartment yelling “HEY SKYGUY I’M GONNA NEED MY OLD PADAWAN SILKA BEADS BACK” with maul awkwardly waving from behind her, she drags the both of them to the chancellor’s office just as the jedi are arriving to arrest him, and power of the New Team’s spite and bitterness subdue palpatine without significant casualties. the galaxy is saved.

I came across this post by @slipperydevorak ( slipperydevorak.tumblr.com/post/189863542949/ok-but-imagine-this-hux-is-too-smart-to-think-he ) and really liked the conversation written between Kylo Ren/Ben Solo and Hux if things ended differently. Instead of having them freely walking around during the Resistance celebration though, I had them see each other as prisoners after the war. They will eventually be taken to court to figure out what to do with them. 

 Also just consider them doing community service work together. Both are trying to ignore the awkward tension, but also some comfort that they have something familiar in this new situation.
