On “possessiveness” with photographers.
On “possessiveness” with photographers.
Photographers that go out of their way to not credit or give pet names to the models that they work with to make them harder to find…that shit is lame. Sure you clicked the shutter, but this weird little possessive game you are playing is basically denying the work that the model puts in and possibly denying them future money they may make from someone else having seen your photo of them.

Have seen this going around again, and its still true! Put your ego aside. Give credit where its due! Without the models we work with most of us are taking pictures of white walls, and empty hotel rooms.
I am reblogging this post from @luxlit and @corwinprescott on a temporary basis, just to add my two cents: I usually give credit to the models in my photos. However, and I am talking specific cases here, there have been a few cases when the models asked me to leave their name out. There are different reasons for that, and I will only mention three:
1. model has posed naked, and she doesn’t want to be found in google/site specific searches, considering the large number of nude re-shares by PORNOGRAPHIC blogs, especially on Tumblr.
2. model has a stalker/jealous partner - wants her photos online, but doesn’t like to be named for similar reason - harder to search by said partner/religious family, etc.
3. model’s job is in conflict with them posing nude/half-naked; a teacher or an academic, cannot be found online by their students during classes, in photos that might diminish their professional authority. I think it’s ridiculous, but this is our society.
I disagree that by not tagging the model, the photographer takes more credit, in the cases mentioned above, they actually are protecting him/her.
