What did you think of the reveal of the new positions Magnus and Alec had? If we'd gotten to see some of the time in the year gap that lead to them achieving them, what kind of storylines would you have liked to see? The political plots we could have had!
oh man, i loved it tbh! i wasn’t sure how they’d resolve magnus getting his position back (i thought lorenzo would vacate it in order to find love instead at first lmaooo) but him moving into such a powerful position to unify the downworld and the shadowhunters w/ alec? iconic!!
knowing that magnus in edom and dark magnus was meant to be a much more extended plot in S4, i feel like politically alec would have experienced a LOT of tension w/ the clave prior to reaching his promotion had the series gone on bc he definitely would’ve fought w/ them to allow him to bring magnus home and/or prevent them from killing or capturing magnus since magnus would have registered as a threat to them and they prob would’ve dealt w/ him the same way they did when jace went w/ valentine. that’s smthng i would’ve liked to see play out and it could’ve been rly interesting to watch alec navigate those politics in order to fight for the man he loves.
i also would’ve liked to see more of a discussion btwn the downworld and the shadowhunters to revise the accords, which up to this point have been sorely outdated. but i like that the downworld has official delegates/diplomats now and def the next step i would’ve wanted to see was the downworld taking up more and more official positions within the clave. but it works rly well w/ alec and magnus since i feel like the implication is that they hold comparable positions, i.e. alec as inquisitor to the shadowhunters is the equivalent of magnus as high warlock of alicante to represent the downworlders. their marriage is rly that powerful.
