For all the nice patrons at the bar, there were always some problem ones too. Problem ones who did not know him personally were no big deal. Problem ones who did…that was another matter. A lot of the people connected to his family would never go near the bar, but some had no such compunctions. He glared at Alecto out of the corner of his eye as she sat down, knowing she was there on purpose to annoy him.
“Hmm, do you kiss your mother with that mouth?” he remarked, pretending to busy himself with cleaning out a glass, “Sure, I think I’ve got something on the top shelf that fits that bill.” Holding up the glass which was still obviously not clean, he offered her a smug smile. “Here’s your glass. Nice and spotless, just like your attitude.”
Alecto would normally consider herself allergic to rudeness, but Sirius Black didn’t count, none of the people in this bar counted. Even if they did count in her mind, recent events were enough to make her less than her usual squeaky-clean self.
Sirius’ dig at her behavior only made her grin, sharp as a shark smelling blood. “No, but I kiss Remus with it, and he seems to be enjoying himself.”
Being handed an obviously dirty glass did irk her though. She curled her lip at the stains on its glass lip, and looked at Sirius again, much of her humor gone.
“Spotless like your record, maybe. Tell me how you did it, mutt. Poison in the wine? Did you get a rush, murdering the PM? Can’t wait to see what the police think.” It was pointless and stupid to needle him about an investigation in which her name had also come up, but Alecto wasn’t feeling particularly smart tonight. She never was when she visited here.
