28 | Pureblood | Death Eater
The younger twin and the more easygoing of the two, Amycus often finds himself going with the flow. Because of this, he was quite popular at Hogwarts, his years there juxtaposed with summers spent learning about the family business and his future responsibilities. Never complaining, Amycus’ smile often puts others at ease, a trait that the Dark Lord found quite useful when he sent one of his Death Eaters to recruit the young Carrow. Joining the Death Eaters was one of the first decisions he’d truly made for himself and it is one of the few he has never regretted. In Voldemort he has a purpose that exists separately from his family and separately from his sister. Now, however, as he gets older, he realizes the importance of continuing his family line and sets to finding himself a bride, unaware of how vindictive and manipulative many pureblooded women can be.
For much of their existence, Amycus has always felt he comes second to his sister. She is the brains and he is often the brawn. Most of the time, it doesn’t matter. They are twins and Alecto is his other half; she always will be. His induction into the Death Eaters was the first time he’d truly been able to distinguish himself from her and when she had joined months later, he’d finally felt as if he’d gotten the upper hand.
The two had gotten along alright at Hogwarts and Amycus has always enjoyed spending time with the quidditch star, for at least the other man knows how to party. Recently, however, Amycus has begun to realize there’s a stark difference between his friendships in the Death Eaters and those outside of it. He finds himself wishing that Henry fell into the former category instead of the latter.
Rivals since their school days, Amycus has always thought there was just something a bit off about Octavius Burke. This thought was proven true as they grew older and Octavius’ proclivities became more known. Though their rivalry has continued into the Death Eaters, Amycus has found himself intrigued by Octavius’ efficiency and methods when it comes to carrying out the Dark Lord’s orders.
