The irony of wanting to re-read/ re-watch old books/ movies because I know I will enjoy them vs looking for something new, while at the same time trying to promote my Sci-fi/Fantasy series to people is not lost on me.
Just watched Adam Conover (of Adam Ruins Everything) make such a solid point that I think we should spread far and wide. Yes, having AI write your emails is lazy, sure, but people love being lazy. We need to really emphasize that sending AI emails (or using AI responses on social media, or publishing AI flyers, or or or) is rude.
It's rude. You're making someone take their time to read something you couldn't bother to write. You're telling them they were so unimportant you couldn't be bothered to actually take the time to say something yourself. And frankly, you're lying about it while you're at it.
It's rude.

I start memorizing their usernames and slip little things into the story here and there that I think they'd like. I love my repeat commenters, it feels like I'm actually writing FOR someone
Is anyone else annoyed by Season 3 of Euphoria?
The vibe was completely off and while the ending was more or less expected, what ground my gears the most was this whole "finding God" bit...
Drug addicts need real human connection to heal, not some imaginary friend in the sky, ok? Least of all not the kind of hateful, anti-woman God our three major religions preach...
Every single fic update there is an author trying frantically to find the right balance between a nonchalant aside of "leave a comment if you enjoyed =)" and clinging desperately to the coat tails of a random stranger, dragging along behind them on the street wailing "Please, please! I have to know what you thought! I'm desperate to talk to people about this! Ask me about the alliterative repetition! Ask me about the symbolism!"

Like, in star wars I could imagine droids capable of making art, but they are also shown to have their own emotions/goals/likes and dislikes, so that would be better, but an ai that just takes other art and "makes" something using that? No originality, no preferences, no emotion, no societal or cultural influence??? Idk just a thought.

Sometimes when I see a f*ugly piece of s done by a bot I like to imagine him, in his velvety smooth voice going "unacceptable! Completely unacceptable!"
I don't know how it's going worldwide, but at least in Bulgaria, the Mandalorian and Grogu has flopped dramatically.
I hope it's flopped across the board, honestly, it gives me hope for the Star Wars fandom - we're not all asleep at the wheel, ready to be wooed by formulaic, corporate-approved, soulless BS...
I guess I might be a perv or something, but honestly - who the hell reads G-rated fanfics? What for? Why?
Anyways, if you enjoy fanfics for the story or you like writing in a universe/ world you didn't create as a writer - more power to you, but it's definitely not for me. 😇

OK, so I watched "The Drama" and I gotta say - fantastic acting from both Rob Pattinson and Zendaya.
However, I think the whole premise exposes a bit too much the shallowness of American culture. Maybe that was the point? If it was - great job!
Because honestly - the woman who tortured a disabled child by locking them up in a cabinet was swept under the rug in favor of everyone banding together on a troubled teenage girl who was bullied and had a violent reaction to said bullying...
It's such an apt allegory for the Western world right now where outrage is continuously manufactured over ridiculous things, while huge atrocities remain unnamed and unpunished.
Sometimes when I watch the Mandalorian I replace Grogu in my head with random objects - a ball, a cactus, a literal doll...
Story doesn't change all that much when I do. Anyone else try this? Tell me what you've replaced him with and if the flow of storytelling changed AT ALL...
