hell-fyres:
“Hmm…” Matthew hummed as he took in Aleixo’s words. “You should let the fire out more often. It’s refreshing,” he said, noting that the man was still angry but also trying to keep a lid on it. “Yes, I happen to enjoy doing a bit of scolding,” the fallen angel grinned. It all came down to making sure others knew who was in charge and that they had jobs that needed to be done well.
“Why? Is your slave giving you problems?” he asked. “Are the masters?” They may have worked together for quite some time, but the way Matthew handled matters was very different to Aleixo.
“I couldn’t tell after all the years I’ve known you.” Aleixo replied with a touch of sarcasm even as he gave Matthew a smile. For the phoenix’s part, his scolding usually was just a stern talking to, but things had been building for awhile now and his mild mannered facade was beginning to crack underneath it. “No, Regulus is good. He always is. It was just watching the fights with him. I shouldn’t have.” He shook his head, frowning. “And Raphael just...reminded me of something earlier this week. It’s not important, I’ll deal with it.” Poorly, apparently.
