the night had hardly been an early one. but when alessandra had sent the message wondering where he was. what he was doing. and who he was with. luciano had understood the underlying words. and he'd retired for the evening, to the comforts of his own bed while he'd waited for her to show up. he hadn't needed to let her in, for she'd always had a key to his place. each and every one of them. and when she'd climbed into his bed, he'd welcomed her into his arms. nestled her against him, as he allowed the need for sleep to pull him under. he'd been nearly there, when her words pulled him from its depths. something about snoring, and he offered a soft huff of a laugh. all while his arms tightened around her, drawing her ever closer to him. he forced himself to shake off the clutches of rest, focused his mind on what she asked of him. " something about my day, " he repeated, while he searched for something of value. " i met with an investor. i'm thinking about expanding el despertar. "
Lucky's home was almost as much her home as it was his. Just like her home was his too. They always had blended together, and there was a comfort in that familiarity. It was the same comfort that had led her to his bed tonight instead of the empty home that felt larger and quieter than it usually did. Alessandra had locked the door behind her when she entered, easily shedding her bag and coat and shorts before sliding into the familiar bed. Sleep had already started to pull Lucky under and she should have been following him but her mind wouldn't quiet. She nestled deeper into his arms, smiling as his words almost slurred with sleep. "Really? That's great news! Definitely board member worthy." She teased in the dark. "Thinking about a second location then?"
