The world is a bright, loud and vivid place. Everyday we are bombarded by News and Opinions. Whether you get your news from a Newspaper, media website, hear it on the radio or television, the parade of information based on opinion is everywhere. I canât promise you that what you read from me wonât be opinionated because ultimately it is. I choose what I write about, as well as the context of what the ânewsâ may be. The 2010âs have been a very exciting time for us. Gamergate, Elections, Social growth and the importance of how we move forward as humans.
I will be taking a trip back in time, Looking at the present and venturing into the future to learn and grow myself politically and morally. There are some things I wonât agree with, things I will love and things I fear for with this journey. I will press on, say what I feel needs to be said, look at the moments that will either fade into oblivion or pave the road for tomorrow.
Consider this your âTrigger Warningâ. I will be talking about subjects many may find to be sensitive, I will have opinions that differ from your own and I will speak my mind. I do however want you to speak yours as well. We live in a world that values opinions and there is no opinion that is wrong in my view. If you have any question, any concerns, any ideas or just want to tell me I am wrong, I openly support your right to do so. I only wish for things to remain civil and to hear me out as I will hear you out.
I was born in Phoenix, Arizona though I don't consider that to be my home town. I have lived most of my life in San Antonio, Texas. Texas has always been good to me, I formed myself to be a very thoughtful, understanding and loving person thanks to a family who is the same. After graduating High school I had the opportunity to change the world in 2008. I was finally able to take part in my first presidential election as an adult. Standing on a platform of Hope and Change, I was able to cast my first vote ever for Barack Obama. Shortly after I moved to Virginia, to explore a beautiful and historically rich area of our nation as well as be closer to the political action in Washington.
Virginia changed a lot in me. Being so close to Washington, I was able to see how politicians really interacted with the people. Hear what they said when not every camera was pointed their way, and understand that there is really little Hope for Change. In 2012 I once again walked to the ballot box, this time however I did not vote for Obama, Ron Paul was my better choice for America. I had always had a hard time with the idea of two parties. Republicans cast a shadow of religion, lower tolerance and are often times pretty scary. Democrats are scary as well. Instead of having deep pockets like many republicans, democrats seem to have a huge hole in theirs. Money falls from it as they preach a tolerance often times they donât have themselves.
As beautiful as Virginia was, I had to leave. I ran back to San Antonio and here I have stayed. I donât consider 2012 my Political awakening. As time went on different groups started forming. From the fabled âSJWâ to Feminism and Black Lives Matter, the world is changing for the better or for worse. I donât want to become too bias, I want to understand. That is why I have decided to look back at these groups, understand what they stand for and possibly change for the better.
