Dark moments

So I have suffered (suffer) with depression. There, I've said it. The stigma that goes along with that is awful and I know people don't like to hear about it. You weight them down. Some people don't like to talk about it, cause then then get accused of being over emotional, hyper sensitive, a 'drama queen,' so they keep quite. I think there are people who use it as an excuse, or throw that word around, not truly knowing what it's like to not have the strength or confidence to get up in the morning and face the world, the people in the street, friends and family. It is hard, and people who do have it so badly, you'd probably never know. I feel there's a fine line between a shout for help and a cry for attention, and a lot of the time I think the two get blurred. I still have dark moments. I'm having one right now. I've been in a slump all day and it's hardest at night. I've eaten junk, not moved out of my bed and felt sorry for myself and had these horrid thoughts that I can't shake. It hard to reach out and ask for help. You don't want to be seen as weak, you don't want to be a burden to the ones you love, and I know I want to be the one to pull myself out if this black hole that I'm in. It is hard. Just be nice to those around you. You don't know what silent battle one goes through in their head. And if that is you, it's bleak, I honestly know how it feels but take a breath. You CAN do this. I had my dark moment, but now I want to spin them and make them lighter. And one day, I might feel better and I'll feel like me again, until then, I'm doing my best.
