It was late when Hudson finally got back to his AirBNB. The temporary home was dark inside as he walked in. He walked with caution as he didn't know what to expect inside.
"Hudson Alexander Lewis Maverick...so glad for you to finally join us this evening" The sound of Neil's voice comes from the kitchen area. He can also hear the sound of loud chopping. He slowly walked towards the kitchen, swallowing hard as he passes two beefy security guards.
In the kitchen, Neil was currently chopping up meat on a cutting board. He was using a suspiciously large butcher knife and chopping down hard that it was echoing throughout the entire area.
"I hope you don't mind...fellas and I are a bit famished from traveling all day. Mike here wanted to go to Nandos and Sylvester wanted a steak. But I told them why spend all this money for a less than average meal when I can cook you a 5 star one" Neil chuckled. He threw the knife on the cutting board so hard that the tip lodged itself in the board.
Hudson shook slightly from the action.
"Cooking a steak is delicate Mr. Maverick. Heat too high you can ruin the perfect meat. Heat too low can also ruin it. I'm a medium well type of person. How do you like your steak?" Neil questioned.
Hudson gulped, "S-Same as you sir."
Neil turned around and smiled at the man, "I knew I liked you Mr. Maverick. Medium well...steak is not too pink but also not too done that it feels like tire rubber in your mouth." He turned back towards the stove to finish cooking steaks.
"W-W-With all due respect sir, what's going on?" Hudson questioned terrified.
Neil sighed and snapped his fingers at Sylvester to finish cooking the steaks. He grabbed a paper towel and cleaned his hands of any food particles. He grabbed the beer that was sitting on the island table and took a big sip. He looked at the bottle then back at Hudson before he swung it across Hudson's head.
Hudson let out a loud grunt as he crumbled to the floor. But he didn't stay down there long before Mike forcefully pulled him back up on his feet. Blood was dripping down the side of Hudson's face as his vision was also blurred.
"You have one job...one. That job was to keep Jenna in line. Simple instructions yet they weren't followed" Neil seethed in his face. "Now, we have to deal with a baby and a nobody from the Bronx. Do you understand how this makes me look? I look like a fool!"
Neil was shaking in absolute anger. A complete 180 from his earlier mood.
"And now I have to get rid of them both" Neil stated. The statement made Hudson's eyes widen. He was stunned and terrified at Neil's words. He had to come up with something fast.
"Wait...wait you don't have to do that. You can turn this around to boost your status more. You can be the face of the industry that can handle anything that the universe throws at him" Hudson pleaded.
That comment sparked Neil's interest as he stared Hudson down.
"Leak it to the press. Leak everything. Leak the pregnancy, who she's pregnant by...everything. That way you control how the story is. If everything comes out, Jenna will have no choice but to come to you for everything. You'll have her back in your pocket" Hudson groaned.
Neil took a step back and really thought about it. The sound of Sylvester flipping the steak and it sizzling in the pan can be heard. His jaw flexed as the thoughts raced through his head.
Slowly, a dangerous smile started to appear on his face. A chuckle escaped his lips as Hudson looked confused but terrified.
Neil chuckled, "You Mavericks will throw God under the bus if the opportunity presented itself."
Neil walked back to behind the island and yanked the knife out the cutting board. "Like father-" He pointed the knife loosely towards him. "Like son."
Hudson's chest rose and fell rapidly, blood still trickled down his face as he steady himself in Mike's beefy arms. He watched as Neil came back in front of him with the knife in his hands.
"But fortunately for you Hudson. You're right. Control the narrative. Control the outcome. I won't look like a fool in front of my father" Neil nodded to himself.
Hudson swallowed hard as he watch the idea take root into Neil's head.
"You...you can become the man who turned scandal into a power move. Something your father couldn't do in his career. You'll be better than him" Hudson continued.
Neil's eyes lit up at the statement. Better than his own father. Something Neil always wanted to accomplish. Something he will accomplish.
Neil then looked to Mike and nodded. At the nod, Mike let Hudson go and he instantly dropped the floor. Neil then bent down to Hudson's face. He used the tip of the knife to make sure Hudson's looked directly at him.
"I like you Hudson. You're pathetic just like your father and your brother. However, you've sparked my interest so I'm letting you go. I want you to leak everything. Every single detail you know I want on the blogs by morning" Neil demanded. His tone cold and hardened.
Hudson nodded shakily.
Neil's voice drops down to a whisper, "And if it's not spotless...we'll revisit the first plan."
"Y-Y-Yes sir" Hudson gulped.
Neil smirked and gave him a big kiss on the cheek and a pat on his shoulder, "Bueno."
The older gentleman stood up to his full height and snapped. Suddenly, Sylvester stopped cooking and turned off the stove. Him, Mike, and Neil all leave the house swiftly and with purpose.
Meanwhile, Hudson exhaled deeply as what he had done fully hits him.
"I'm sorry Jenna" Hudson cried.

(^ your outfit)
"You have reached the voicemail of Davis Bernard-"
You hung up the phone and tossed it into your passenger seat. You sighed, you were getting worried about Davis. He wasn't answering none of your calls or texts and that's not like him. You needed to go see him ASAP.
Suddenly, your attention is grabbed by the screeching of tires and a red blur passing by your window. You raised your eyebrows at the car screeching to a stop in a parking space across from you.
The driver and passenger side doors both open simultaneously and a 5'10 brown-skinned man and a 5'6 European woman step out the driver wraps his arm around the woman's waist and the two walk inside the building.
"What the fuck?" You whispered to yourself.
You then feel your phone vibrate in the seat next to you. You quickly grabbed it thinking it's Davis finally returning your calls and messages. But no it was someone you've been waiting to hear from.
"Oh so you are alive," You said as you answered the phone.
"I'm sorry. I've just been busy with filming and everything. They have me doing 14-hour-long shoots an-"
You cut off Jenna's rambling, "Yo relax I'm messing with you. I understand that you're busy and stuff."
Jenna sighed, "Sorry. I've just been stressed and my hormones are all over the place. I desperately need a vacation for at least 8 months."
"Eight months? That's a long time" You replied.
"Long but necessary timeframe. Anyway, how have you been? I talk about myself all the time." Jenna smiled tiredly at you.
"Well...I made it to the second round of the music competition" You said with a sheepish smile.
After the words left your mouth and registered in Jenna's head, she quickly sat up from her lying position in excitement. She let out an excited gasp while a huge smile formed on your face.
"Oh my god! Congratulations! I wish I could give you the biggest hug right now" Jenna beamed. "What song did you sing?" She added.
"I did an original song called Have To Be it's on YouTube right now if you wanna listen to it" You said and propped the phone on your steering wheel.
"I'm going to listen to it," Jenna said excitedly and immediately started searching for your song on YouTube.
You chuckled and looked up towards the building again. Now, a black Escalade was pulling up to the building. A muscular bodyguard hops out the driver's side and speed walks to the back passenger side and opens the door. One by one three beautiful ladies all step out. But one caught your eye immediately, she was beautiful with light skin and curly long hair.
It was like she felt eyes on her and she turned her head and the two of you locked eyes.
"Jah? Jahhhh? Hello?" You heard Jenna's voice which snapped you back into reality.
"Sorry...I just realized the time. I have to attend this meeting for the competition" You said as you shook the thoughts from your head.
Jenna pouted, "Aw okay I was hoping we could talk more but call me when the meeting is finished."
"I got you Hollywood" You smiled at her.
You both bid your goodbyes to each other before hanging up. You step out lock your car and make your way into the fancy building. As you walked it you instantly met with the sound of people talking loudly amongst themselves. You felt out of place in the sea of talented individuals.
"Name?" A worker came up to you with an attitude.
"Oh uh...Jahaziel Jimenez or Jah" You nervously answered the worker.
The worker typed something in the iPad he was holding, not once looking up at you which was funny to you, "Okay, here's your badge. You'll take your picture over there. The meeting starts in 20 minutes. Find a seat or converse I don't care."
That was all the worker said before leaving you alone with a pictureless badge in your hand. You walk over the line to take your picture when someone bumps into your shoulder. It was the dude you saw earlier with red Ferrari speeding past you.
"Watch where you going" He spit and kept walking in the opposite direction.
You scoffed, "The fucking audacity."
You stood in line for what felt like hours upon hours but realistically only 10 minutes. When it was finally your turn, you stood in front of the white backdrop and fixed your glasses and fitted cap before you smiled showcasing your grillz. As you were taking your picture, you felt eyes on you. You took the picture and tried to look for the pair of eyes that was on you but you couldn't find them. So you just shrugged and grabbed your picture and walked to the seating.
You walked to the back and took the last available seat at the end. You looked around watching as everyone either conversed with each other or practice their songs. You rubbed your clammy nervous hands on your pants as your heartbeat started picking up a little.
Suddenly, a woman in a burgundy blazer stepped on stage and to the mic.
"Is this thing on?...Right good morning everyone, my name is Jennifer and I am one of the producers of this amazing competition-" She was cut off by the sound of loud clapping and hooting and hollering.
Jennifer giggled, "Alright, alright everyone settle down-" She got the crowd settled. "As you know this competition only promotes the best of the best. You guys have come from all over the world to make something for yourselves on this stage. Don't fail now. This competition will challenge you to put your best foot forward and give it everything that you have."
Suddenly, you started hearing buzzing from all around you. People were scrambling to silence their phones but it was like a chain reaction. You started hearing whispering in your area. People showing each other their phones.
“No way that can be true”
“Never would’ve thought she’ll be one of those types of girls”
You frowned at the comment before you felt your own phone vibrate in your pocket. You pulled it out and see mad notifications popping up. You sit up properly in your chair as you unlocked your phone.

The Velvet Magnolia
12:34 am | July 2029
"I shoot the lights out, Hide 'til it's bright out, Oh just another lonely night, ARE YOU WILLINGLY TO SACRIFICE YOUR LIFE?"
THE VIBRATION FROM THE music not only boomed throughout the building, it boomed through Kale's head. Eyes were closed, hands gripped the sides of the sink, and thoughts raced like a marathon in her head. She took slow deep breaths in and exhaled slowly to calm the racing thoughts.
The young adult stands up fully and looks at herself in the mirror. She looked exhausted. Dark circles were deep around her eyes. She hasn't been sleeping properly the last couple of weeks, and she had no idea of the cause.
"Yo, Kale, your mother looking for ya" The southern deep voice of her grandfather Dreux Sr. travels through the door.
Kale sighed and turned the water on to wash her hands. She shakes them dry as she steps out the restroom. Damn Manuel always forgetting to order paper towels for the bathroom.
"She say what for?" She voiced loudly as the pair walk back towards the dance floor. Strobe lights flashed the building harshly, if you weren't epileptic before you definitely would be now.
"Didn't ask but it seems serious" Dreux shrugged. The pair made their way through the crowd. Weaving past drunk men and half naked women dancing. Kale stepped over a spilled discarded drink and dodged a burly male stumbling.
The club was at its peak. Vibrant, chaotic, and loud that's the Velvet Magnolia for you. The home of the Blackwell Bloodline for the last three decades. A place of establishment that has been passed down through two generations and will possibly more.
As Kale comes closer to the main office, she felt the air shift and the music started to get muffled. Her vision blurred and her heart started to burn.
This was new, she never felt this before. She stumbled into the hallway of the main office. She collapsed into the cool white brick wall as sweat poured down her face.
"What the fuck" She whispered, voice filled with pain.
Her ear picked the sound of the door behind burst open behind and through her blurred vision, a familiar figure fell down in front of her. The figure was in the same painful state as her but managed it a little bit better than she was.
"Kale..." Dreux choked out in pain.
Kale couldn't even verbally acknowledge her grandfather as the pain intensified. It felt like someone lit a match to her blood. She looked down to see the veins in her forearms were black and bulging. She looked over at grandfather to see the same thing as well as the black veins were bulging on his neck, face, and eyes. His entire eyes were white with black veins showing.
Kale could only assume she looked the same because of the way her grandfather froze in his words.
And then...nothing.
The burning feeling. The pain. All of it was gone in an instant just like that. The pair's eyes returned to normal state and the black in their veins disappeared.
"What the fuck was that?" Kale trembled.
Dreux sat against the wall breathing heavily. His heart still pounding but for a different reason now as realization sets in. He only felt this feeling before as teenager...when his brother was murdered.
Someone is dead. Someone extremely close to them is dead.
Suddenly, Kale's phone starts to buzz in her jean pocket. She scrambles to get it and messages start to flood in from Virgil, her best friend.
V. DuBois
call me asap
V. DuBois
i found your dad. farish street downtown.
V. DuBois
he's dead
Kale sucked in a breath as the words hit her like truck. She was already physically exhausted from what just happened. Now mentally, she's gone.

"...I'm so sorry for your loss"
The words echoed through Kale's head as she just stared at the doctor covering her deceased father with a white sheet. Her family, minus her older brother Omar, stood at the glass all expressionless but carrying the pain in their hearts.
Neveah was holding Scarlette as she stared into the room with tears rolling down her face.
Dreux Messiah Blackwell Jr.
A son. A husband. A father. A grandfather. A man that continuously shared his wisdom throughout the family. A man that was devoted to the family he created and the family he came from.
A familiar figure stands next to Kale with a heartbroken look on his face as well.
"Found him in the alleyway by the library on Farish Street. Stabbed. Store got cameras across the street, but the owner is out of town, flies back in tomorrow" Virgil debriefs.
"Any witnesses?" Kale asked.
Virgil shook his head, "Nah. No witnesses. No evidence at the scene. Seemed like a calculated job."
Calculated job.
Kale sighed, "Alright. Soon as the owner fly in I need you to get to that footage before local PD does. Once the investigators are finished with the scene, go back, and reassess everything. Might be a calculated job but people are always messy."
"Got it" Virgil nodded and patted Kale's back before turning away and walking out the double doors. Kale and Virgil always had an unspoken rule when it comes to death.
Be there but don't be there at the same time.
They don't do the I'm sorry for your loss or my condolences sayings. It did nothing for either of them when it was said. So, they give each other a pat on the back to let each other know they got each other no matter what.
A clear of someone's throat grabs the family attention from the room. Everyone turned around to see two guys in suits behind him.
Detective Connor Nolan and Detective Wesley Waters.
"Dreux Blackwell" Detective Waters announced.
Dreux sighed and then faked a smile, "Detective Waters."
"First, I would like to say my condolences to you and your family. I can't imagine what you people must be going through" Waters said.
You people?
The family chose to ignore the comment due to not wanting to escalate things at the time.
"Second, I just need you people to answer some questions for me. When's the last time either of you seen or spoken to DJ?" Waters asked. His partner Detective Nolan looked uncomfortable at Waters choices of words.
"Around 8pm. Every Friday, he takes the Velvet Magnolia's financial books to a secure location" Neveah answered.
"And where would that secure location be located?" Waters questioned while writing down details in his notepad.
No one answered. Waters didn't like that as he looked up from his notepad.
"I asked a question" Waters insisted.
"We heard you. Ask a different one" Kale spoke in her thick Mississippi accent.
Waters eyes cut to Kale who was staring right back at him. Kale was calm and collected. Not an ounce of fear for the man standing right in front of her. It made Waters uneasy, he was familiar with the Blackwell Family, but Kale was a different breed.
She was unpredictable. Waters didn't like the unpredictable. But he also knew not to test Kale because of her being unpredictable. It's one of the few smart things he knows how to do.
Waters sighed, "Alright...did DJ have any known enemies? Get into fights with anyone recently?"
"No. My husband was a good man did a lot for the community" Scarlette tearfully cried. She wiped the snot from her nose with the tissues in her hand.
Waters subtly scrunched up his face at her statement, "He indeed was. Do any of you have enemies or someone that could do something like this to him? Maybe one of the felons in your life or his daughter perhaps-"
"Detective Waters..." Detective Nolan gasped.
"Are you implying that my granddaughter is responsible for her father's death? Or any of the felons as you call them, in my family?" Neveah fumed.
Even at the comment, Kale still remained calm.
"I'm just asking routine quest-"
"This interview is now over Detective Waters."
A new voice booms through the hallway. Everyone turned to see the 6'4 carbon copy of Scarlette. Omar James Blackwell, well Special Agent Omar James Blackwell. The tall male stepped in the middle of everyone. He towered over Waters and Nolan and neither of them liked it.
"Any further questioning goes through legal counsel which will be at the Blackwell Manor in the morning. If you have any reason to believe that my family members are involved in the murder of my father, then I expect warrants and concrete evidence as well" Omar sharply said.
He then slightly bent down in between the men's faces so they could really understand his next words.
Omar voice deepened, "And gentlemen it absolutely better be by the books because if not, I'll make sure Internal Affairs are able to write your names blindfolded in the dark without hesitation."
Nolan harshly swallowed the spit in his mouth and turned down the hallway fast. Waters glared at each family member before following his partner down the hallway.
Omar exhaled deeply and moved his long coat back to cover his badge. He untensed his shoulders and faced his family. Scarlette's face was red and puffy for the long minutes spent crying. His grandparents were emotionless, but he could sense the grief radiating off them. Lastly, he turned towards his sister. Kale was still. No movement. He knew that wasn't a good thing.
"What's going on up there?" Omar questioned his sister.
Kale exhaled deeply, "I need a blunt bad."
The two siblings looked at each other before cracking a small smile. Omar didn't comment due to his position as an FBI Agent but he secretly agreed with the younger girl.

Farish Street

"Yes sweetheart I know I have to call the police about the tape of whatever happened" An elder man spoke into his phone on his ear. He twisted the key in the lock and looked up at the reflection in his window.
Virgil was leaned against his blacked out Rolls Royce Phantom. His silver jewelry shined with the hot sun high in the clear blue sky. He wore an all black cowboy hat to shield his face from the sun. His expensive black Cartier sunglasses sat on his nose bridge. It was low enough for him to see you with his eyes but also enough to cover them if you staring directly at him.
"Gregory?"
The low voice of Gregory's wife called his name when she didn't hear a respond from him.
"Um...baby I-I have to call you back. I love you" Gregory stammered. He didn't even let his wife respond before he hung up the phone on her.
A faint smirk appeared on Virgil's face as he smell the fear radiating off the elder man. He pushed himself off his vehicle and walked towards the store.
"Mister Gregory Shepherd...owner of Shepherd's Corner Store" Virgil spoke as he stood in front of Gregory.
"Yes sir, how may I help you?" Gregory gulped.
"You can relax you know, I ain't finna do anything to you. Your cameras might've caught something that could help find out who killed DJ Blackwell" Virgil stated.
"DJ Blackwell is dead?" Gregory gasped. Fear was now really coursing through him. One of the most known people in the Blackwell Family is dead...murdered in front of his store.
"Yeah. I need to look at your security footage" Virgil said.
"Uh...yes of course. Follow me" Gregory agreed quickly and finished unlocking his store. He allows Virgil to walk in before him and locks the front door again. Virgil stepped to the side to allow Gregory to lead him to the back where his office is located.
It wasn't much an office, more like office things in a supply closet. Gregory sat the computer with his security cameras. He wasn't tech savvy but he knew enough to try to keep up with the youngsters.
"The police didn't tell me that someone got murdered in front of my store. If they had I would've been back here earlier" Gregory informed Virgil.
Virgil held onto that information. He watched as Gregory rewind the video to minutes before DJ was killed. DJ was walking like normal, he was walking back towards his vehicle when he was suddenly tossed into the alleyway. Three masked and hooded figures walk into the alley. One gets tossed out the alley and into DJ's truck head first snapping it in an awkward way. Gregory gasped and starts shaking from the things he was seeing.
DJ then stumbles out the alley but gets stabbed from behind. He dropped to the ground and suddenly gets thrown right back in the alley. A couple minutes go by and a blinding white covers the camera and cuts it out.
"What the fuck was that?" Gregory trembled as he stood up from his chair.
"Ou pa reziste. Ou obeyi (You do not resist. You obey)" Virgil chanted. Gregory stood frozen in front of him with his eyeballs fully black. "You will not remember this. I was never here. When the police come you will tell them that something fried your cameras and you have no video from last night. You know nothing of what happened."
"Lage (Release). Dòmi (Sleep)" Virgil whispered. Gregory fell back in his chair asleep. Virgil sticks a flash drive into the computer and downloads the video from software. He also deletes footage of him today. He shuts down the computer and walks out the back door back to his vehicle.

Jenna sat alone in her trailer, the first time she's been alone in the last week. Usually, people would run in and out of the trailer for various reasons. But today, the weather forced the shoot date to end early for everyone. She sat by the window as she watched the English rain pound against the glass, caught in her racing thoughts. Her brown doe eyes focused as a lone raindrop slid down the glass taking different paths and angles to reach its final destination.
The young pregnant woman was extremely bored waiting for her driver to come pick her up from set. She tried calling you but you didn't answer and that's when she realized that it was currently 10 am in New York. You were most likely asleep especially since she watched you stream until like 4 am Eastern Time last night.
Suddenly, a knock breaks Jenna from her thoughts. She sighed thinking it was just another make-up artist or stylist coming in to gather the rest of their belongings but when she opened the door, she was slightly shocked to see Hudson.
"Oh great, you're awake. I would've thought you would be dead asleep" Hudson smiled.
"Nope just about dead from boredom" Jenna replied and moved out the way so Hudson could come in.
"I can tell by the look on your face and...your whole demeanor" Hudson playfully responded and closed the door behind him. He pulled off his raincoat and then took a seat on the small couch behind Jenna.
Meanwhile, Jenna grabbed her phone and sat back in the chair. She opened the TikTok app and immediately she was hit with a video of you. It was a clip of one of your YouTube videos that had gone viral recently. It didn't help with her need for you but she pushed it away.
Hudson noticed her demeanor and sighed, "Look so, uh, I was thinking we haven't hung out in a while like we used to and we're in England so I figured we could...I don't know explore a foreign city a little. There's a cafe I saw one night that's not far from here. Do you uh...wanna go check it out?"
Jenna thought about it for a moment. She knew she needed a much-needed distraction from everything. But she was hesitant about going with Hudson especially after he betrayed her trust by running his mouth to her mother. But she needed to do something so she doesn't into her head and lose her way like before. She needed to do something.
"Yeah sure let's do it" Jenna agreed and grabbed her bag and other items she needed. A huge smile grew on Hudson's face as he jumped up from the couch excitedly.
"Okay! So let's get the day started shall we" Hudson smiled and opened the trailer door for the smaller woman. The two friends start their day journey exploring the city of London.
The two friends quickly found a small English restaurant not too far from their respective hotels. They find a booth towards the back of the restaurant and take a seat across from each other. After sitting, an awkward silence covers over their atmosphere. It was weird for the both of them and they each hated how one bad decision (on Hudson's part) led to a fracture in their friendship.
"So...this is kinda awkward" Hudson spoke out loud.
Jenna hummed and nodded in agreement. Soon, a waitress walked over and took both of their drink orders and appetizers. Jenna ordered a green tea to help the little nausea she felt while Hudson ordered a simple water and some sausage rolls to munch on.
"Listen, Jenna, I am truly sorry for what I did. I know I keep saying it and everything but if I could rewind time and stop myself from ever doing that I would do it in a heartbeat. I want...no I need my best friend back.
Jenna sat in thought for a bit. She watched how Hudson's demeanor was calm and composed. She could sense that he felt guilty for his actions and therefore wanted to give him another chance. She missed her best friend too.
"Please stop apologizing I forgive you H&M," Jenna said.
Hudson smiled at the nickname she gave him in the eighth grade, "Thank you Jenster."
The two continued to converse with each other falling back into their friendship like before as their drinks and Hudson's appetizer came to the table.
"So, how's filming going?" Hudson asked and took a bite of a sausage roll.
Jenna sighed, her shoulders dropping, "It's...hectic to say the least. The movie is going to be bigger I can feel it. The pressure is intense and truthfully I'm terrified. Especially with my...situation making things a lot more complicated." She said as she looked down at her growing belly.
Hudson nodded sympathetically at her. He knew the intense pressure the industry could provide since he was associated with it his entire life. But he hoped that Jenna wouldn't fall under the pressure again and resort back to the person she was a couple of years ago. He hoped that the baby and he hated to admit it also, you, wouldn't let her fall victim to it again.
He can only hope.

The Bronx, New York
10:30 am (EDT)
You woke up extremely annoyed at the sound of someone banging on your door harshly. You sucked your teeth and got up from your bed and harshly threw your door open. You didn't even get a word before the person bum-rushed into your apartment. You looked to see who it was and saw it was Davis looking conflicted.
"Yo, why the fuck are you banging on my door like that D? It's 10:30 in the fucking morning" You spit at your best friend.
Davis ignored what you said and continued pacing back and forth deep in thought.
"Yo, you good kid? What's going on? Why you acting like that?" You questioned Davis, genuinely concerned about his behavior.
"I just got word that Slim is being released from Rikers early," Davis said as he rubbed his face, and sat down on your couch.
You gave Davis a confused look as you sat down beside him, "Well that's good. I missed that nigga....don't you?"
Davis looked at you with conflicted eyes, "Y-Y-Yeah of course. I'm just worried about how he going to handle the world now. All these new rules, new phones and apps, and shit like that."
"Understandable but that's why he got us. We can help him to adjust to life now. Maybe, we can introduce him to Twitch and shit so he can get his money up" You nodded.
Davis nodded, "Yeah maybe."
You give your best friend a confused look but before you can question it further, your phone goes off. You walk into your room and grab it off your nightstand. It was an unknown number, now usually you don't answer unknown numbers but something told you to answer this one.
"Hello?" You answered.
"Hi Jahaziel, my name is Rachelle Towns and I'm the executive producer for the Performer Passion competition. I was wondering if you had a moment of your time?" Rachelle asked you.
Your eyes widen in shock but you compose yourself, "Yes I do have a moment."
"Awesome, I was calling to let you know that you have officially moved on to Round Two of the Performer Passion competition" Rachelle informed you.
You let out a shocked laugh, "Nah you fucking me with. You not fucking with me right?"
Rachelle chucked, "No Ms. Jimenez I'm sure I'm not fucking with you. Congratulations, the judges and I loved your performance. I have sent you an email detailing the next instructions I just wanted to tell you verbally also about your accomplishment. Once again, congratulations on advancing to the next round."
With that, she hung up the phone, and as soon as she did an email came to your phone.

"Yo D! I made it to the next round of the competition" You bounced excitedly back into your living room to find your best friend nowhere to be found.
The smile on your face was completely wiped away and replaced with a confused look, "What the fuck."
You shook off Davis' weird behavior and let the excitement of the news seep back into your body. You go back into your phone and go to your contacts. You see Jenna's contact name and click on it.
The phone rings and rings and rings and rings before it goes to her automated voicemail. You pouted but then remembered that she may be filming something right now and can't be by her phone. You'll try her again later on.
You then scroll and click on your mother's contact. The same thing happens with your mother. Now you feel some type of way cause why no one is answering your calls.
@bronxshiesty: i must be chopped fucking liver cuz why ain't NOBODY ANSWERING MY FUCKING PHONE CALLS
@highondatgreen: @bronxshiesty ill answer your phone call daddy
@bronxshiesty: @highondatgreen
@bronxshiesty: oop false alarm my mommy called me back
"What you need Jahaziel, you know I'm at work" Delyse sighed as the connection was delayed due to the hospital's weak wifi.
"I made it to the next round of the competition" You excitedly spoke as a wide smile appeared.
There was silence on the other end for a few moments before a loud shout came through the phone, "YES! THANK YOU JESUS! I'm so proud of you my baby child so so proud!"
"Thank you, Ma! I honestly didn't think I'd make it to the next round. I wasn't feeling confident about the song" You confessed.
"Why not? It's a good song. I keep replaying it at work for my co-workers...airplane on my phone, it can wait til the morning" Delyse whisper-sung and did a little shimmy dance.
You chuckled, "I'm glad you like it. But I just feel like I can do better. I compete with many different people with different voices and talents. I can't be slacking."
"Well if you know what you need to do then go do it. Like you said different voices and talents, now that you're in the next round you need to outshine everyone else" Delyse said.
"Yeah, I just need to figure out a way to do that" You said.
"You'll figure it out, baby child...I have to get back to work. I'll call you when I'm home" Delyse said.
You nodded, "Ight Ma."
The call ended and now you were back in your thoughts. You scrolled through your contacts again and stopped on Jenna's name. You clicked on it and it rang and rung until the voicemail came through again. You sucked your teeth and flopped on your couch. You stared at the ceiling for a second before a smile started growing on your face.
"I fucking made it..." You whispered-chuckled to yourself.

It was now late in the evening (London time). The sky was dark but the streets were still busy as ever. London reminded Jenna of New York kind of. People laugh and walk through the streets with their friends, partners, or just themselves. Everywhere she turned someone was doing something. But as much as she wanted to relish in London life, she needed to rest for a very long day of shooting tomorrow.
"So what's up with you and Jah? Are yall going to date for the sake of the baby or?" Hudson's question breaks Jenna out of her thoughts.
"Uh...no we're not dating. We mutually agreed to just stay friends with each other and raise our child together" Jenna spoke and continued walking to her room.
"Well that's good at least you guys are coming together and being there for the baby. Honestly, you getting pregnant was not on my bingo card this year" Hudson chuckled.
Jenna chuckled, "It wasn't on mine either...but I'm dealing with the huge surprise like a champ and I'm ready for motherhood, excited for it."
"That's good" Hudson smiled at her. He stops in his tracks when he feels his phone vibrating in his pocket. He pulls it out and sees a text message from an unsaved number.
Unsaved Number:
I have a job for you
I'll be waiting at your AirBNB
don't be late
Today was going so good...
a/n: hey….its almost been a year since I last updated this book and for starters…i apologize life has been lifeing for me this past six months. now its not guaranteed that im going to be posting regularly like before because my job be having me tired and depressed lmaoo. But ill do my best to update within a reasonable time frame.
“You were it at one point, you know?” “I don’t like how you used past tense there. Makes it hurt more, and makes things… It makes things so much more real.”
“This is exactly why I never wanted to fall in love with you.”
“I still don’t understand what I did wrong.”
“...Why did you do that for?”
“I’ve always wondered why it had to be you.”
“Did I… Did I do something wrong?”
“I can feel you cutting me off. And it sucks because I don’t know why you’re doing this.”
“Please don’t tell me you’re trying to pull away from me.”
“Why won’t you love me back?” “…You’re drunk, let’s get you home.”
“It’s not that I can’t do this anymore, it’s just that I don’t want to. Not with you.”
“Whatever I do, I can’t fucking get you out of my head and it’s ruining me.”
“I don’t… I don’t think I can trust you again.”
“No matter how hard I try, I can’t help but doubt you. And I can’t keep living like this; living in the fear that you’d end up being the one tearing me to pieces.”
“I don’t want to love you anymore.”
“Can I be honest? I don’t miss you. I don’t miss what we had.”
“The worst part is I truly loved you.”
“I wouldn’t be in this state if you just left me alone from the very start.”
“…I wonder if things would have been better if we never met.”
“Maybe we should let broken things stay broken.”
“I could have lived without knowing you never meant anything you told me.”
Well I’m not sure if you want Jenna stories specifically or if Jenna’s characters would work too but the “Lost” series by Colbaltperun is INCREDIBLE!! It’s a Tara fic
I read both so I don’t mind either but I will check it out Lost! Thank you for the recommendation 🫡
