Candice Swanepoel.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge talking to Wimbledon Men’s Single winner, Novak Djokovic.
Congrats Novak!
”Why? It’s not like you own the place…” he trailed off and considered the thought for a moment, “do you?”
"Well," she grinned. "Let's just say I'm a very good customer of theirs."
“Only terrible, terrible images of motel rooms with a non-working plumbing, a mattress filled with bricks, a room that reeks of sex and unholy things and a carpet infested with bugs that are probably unknown to mankind. No big deal.”
"Bad choice," she replied. "You shouldn’t have come here. Try St. Regis, tell them you’re a friend Alexia Larson. They’ll give you a great discount."
Well unfiltered was certainly a word for it. Niels tried not to stare, processing everything he was taking in. Alexia definitely liked to talk. He preferred listening anyway, but he couldn’t help feeling like she was making fun of him - for whatever reason. “I’m going to pretend that didn’t sound like sarcasm.” Life was easier when he ignored most personal attacks and simply went along with his business.
With a sigh, he tilted his head and looked her in the eyes. The innuendo did not go unnoticed though he pretended to ignore it. Usually he was used to people -not even entirely women- flirting to get out of tickets. Anything outside of work tended to be entirely new territory for him. It still didn’t entirely make sense that people might be interested in him. “If you say so,” he replied evenly. “I’ll take your word for it. Though I’d probably be going against principle if I didn’t tell you to stay out of trouble.” He preferred not to deal with more trouble than was strictly necessary. As a concession he smiled again, his grin widening.
"Ah, oui. I’ve never been to Switzerland. Somehow…that doesn’t surprise me, though." He decided he was getting to know her despite the short meeting. "There’s nothing wrong with talking. Sometimes there is a time and place, however. No matter what happens."
Alexia laughed out, "No! I wasn't being sarcastic, silly." she laughed again, slowly slapping his arm. Alexia hoped that Niels is not one of those "Don't make jokes with a cop." kind of cop. "I really am amazed that you're a cop, I am." she added.
"Ah," her laugh continued. Alexia is a big flirt, but she only flirts with people she thinks are interesting. When her laughing stopped, she noticed him looking at her so she looked right in his eyes, her blue eyes pierced to his. "Take my word and keep it." she added, "You see, as I told you; I don't see the need to stay out of trouble—I am trouble. But thanks for the reminder though, I need a man to remind me things every now and then."
This man is a really cool and easy going man and Alexia liked that. He was fun to talk to. "You just knew, then? 'Oh, this girl's so been expelled from school in her youth.' Wow, Niels. I must say I'm quite offended." she said jokingly, resting her hand on her heart. She tried to look serious, but couldn't get the wide grin off of her face. And then she broke into another laugh. "No, nothing wrong. But I'm afraid it's pretty hard for me to control myself."
You okay down there? You’re looking a little lost.
Huh?
oh, um, yeah. Kind of.
Happy Birthday to The People’s Princess
(07.01.61 - 08.31.97)
Diana broke the barriers of nationality and saw everyone for who they were- first and foremost, human beings and extended members of her family. ~ Larry King
The most amazing thing about Diana was that although she was a princess, the struggles she went through were those of the everyday woman. She had been royalty, but she was just like all of us. Someone to aspire to, yet someone to relate to. And when she left the earth, she left a void that can never be filled. ~ Tyra Banks
She had it all, the outside and the inside beauty. Even though I photograph many beautiful people, few have this. ~ Mario Testino
Diana was the very essence of compassion, of duty, of style, of beauty. All over the world she was a symbol of selfless humanity, a standard-bearer for the rights of the truly downtrodden, a very British girl who transcended nationality, someone with a natural nobility who was classless, and who proved in the last year that she needed no royal title to continue to generate her particular brand of magic. ~ Earl Spencer
I still miss her, she was such a light in everyone’s lives. ~ Prince William
First, I want to pay tribute to Diana myself. She was an exceptional and gifted human being. In good times and bad, she never lost her capacity to smile and laugh, nor to inspire others with her warmth and kindness. I admired and respected her - for her energy and commitment to others, and especially for her devotion to her two boys. ~ Queen Elizabeth II
As if by instinct, Declan’s hands shot out to steady both himself and the blonde infront, as eyes skimming over her to see if there was any harm done. He let out a breath when there wasn’t. “Scusa, my fault entirely.”
Alexia was having a fair day, and there was no way ruining it. She put on a smile and with the help of the man, she balanced herself. "Oh, it's fine. You wouldn't be running into me if those stupid cars hadn't park in my spot."
"Something on your mind?"
Vogue Brazil July 2014 - (Supplement Vogue Travel Miami)
I’m here… I’m here. Sorry. I…—- Alexia, you’re not even dressed yet. Let’s go! We don’t have all day.
There you are! About time you show up, Casaretta.
Exactly. We do not have all day.
Sorry. I walked outside, looked up and the sun was gone. I didn’t realize how late it was.
Oh, no, no. I wasn't—I was talking about my agent, he's... always wasting my time.
Is it really that hard for people to show up on time?
Declan breathed out a heavy sigh as he walked out of yet another less than impressive motel. “Mon dieu, what does a guy have to do to get a decent room around here?”
Via Condotti was crowded, people with money parked their cars came early and parked their car in front of the boutiques, and Alexia just had to park her car one block away. Walking one block while carrying numbers of shopping bags and a five-inch Choos was tricky.
A familiar figure almost knocked her down the pavement. "Woah, slow down."
"Area clear, 10-4"
"Hey, um, excuse me. Are you about to be done yet? This is my parking spot."
"There’s plenty of trouble to go around these days without adding to it anyway." That much was true. Niels didn’t want to create more chaos than was needed. It went against his code. And she was right after all. "That is part of the job description. In a place like this, though…" He shrugged. "The job is a little more difficult than it should be." He did his best regardless. Rome was his city, and he’d do all he could to take care of her.
Though he smiled, Niels took stock of the woman in front of him with cool precision. If she admitted to being trouble he’d take her word for it. No doubt he’d have to confront her at some point, though he wasn’t sure if it would be due to a noise violation or worse. She seemed like she knew how to have a loud time. “I’m sure I’ll have to keep an eye out, then. I won’t go easy on you, though.” He shifted, nodding sagely. “I’m not. And neither are you.”
Try as he might, he couldn’t quite picture her as a police officer. She talked too much. “Niels - Officer - Yannick. Originally from Belgium, spent a few years in France. And now I’m here.” He offered a small smile, along with a handshake.
"Mm, I can only imagine." she said. It really has been a while since she last had a decent conversation. "Oh, thank you, officer, for protecting our beloved city." She gave him yet another cheeky smile, another sincere one. She just had to tell him that. Alexia visited the police department once, on a Sunday along with a few of her friends. One of them was married to the chief and she asked Alexia to come along with her one day to celebrate his birthday. Some of the officers were kind, but another part of the group were rude and horny.
Alexia scoffed, crossing her arms under her breasts. "Now, why would I want you to go easy on me?" she shook her head, keeping her eyes on his. It is a habit of hers to make eye contact with the person she was talking to. Well, unless she's got her phone in her hand. "I'm a big girl, I can handle hard and rough." and yet another one of her many unfiltered jokes.
"Ah, France. Je parle Français. I was educated in Switzerland once. A french all-girls boarding school. Before they expel me for being such a disgrace to the facility." She stopped. "Oh God, now I am only embarrassing myself. See? I'm always, always talking."
