Well, I have nothing better to do rright now, so I don’t mind at all.
It's that those guys have been in jail for too long, even during holidays. Christmas, New Year's Day... I mean, that's a shame. I wish I could do something more.
Oh, you’re that curious?
Alright, I guess I can.
Yes, I'm that curious. Go on, then.
Did anything bad happen or…?
Nothing happened, it's-- Don't worry. I don't want you to be bothered by my "complaints".
Yeah, I know… if you want to learn any other trick, you can talk to me.
Or maybe you could simply show me one.
No, I’m serious! I told you it wasn’t so hard.
So, that was really your card. Woah! It wasn't that bad, after all.
About what?
About... Everything.
Really? No way, you're kidding me.
Let the Interviews Begin? || Daniel and Alex
Daniel was surprised to see the sudden fatigue that washed over Alex. He watched as she messaged her temples, and only then did he see how worn out she looked. He hadn’t realised the case had taken such a toll on her. When he thought of their first meeting, he noticed the difference in her demeanour. The case had taken as much toll on her as it had on him. How he had missed it, hadn’t noticed until now was beyond him because he seemed so blindingly obvious in that moment that she wasn’t the same person he had met in the cafe all those months ago.
He had expected her not to say anything else, so when she spoke again, he was surprised, and not entirely pleased. “Someone doesn’t find me attractive? Well there’s a first for everything. I just didn’t think it would hurt this much.” He wiped away a fake tear, while the hint of a smile spread across his face. Maybe despite everything he was enjoying himself, just a tiny bit.
"Well I have one question only about the whole magic proofing stunt. Why bother even bringing fake keys into the room. I don’t understand the logic." He raised an eyebrow at Alex. "I was never sure what happened to him. I didn’t really care to be honest." he had never really liked Arthur Tressler. He hated the way he had earn’t his money, how he never had to work a day in his life to become so rich and how he always acted so goddamn superior. The only thing that had kept Daniel around him was the knowledge that they were going to rob him. Since they robbed him, Daniel hadn’t even thought of him. He had been satisfied that they had got him back for everything he had done, even before the FBI were involved. "You’re right, they probably wouldn’t believe me. Though, they might not believe you either, seeming as you don’t even really like anyone who works here except Dylan."
He raised an eyebrow at her when she backed off. “Really?” he asked, feeling dismayed she backed off. Even though she eventually came closer again, he still felt slightly betrayed. He wasn’t sure why. It wasn’t like he was particularly close to Alex, or knew her that well. He shook his head, trying to shake away the feeling when he noticed Alex’s fingers fly so quickly to her mic he wasn’t even sure he had seen it. If it wasn’t for his well trained eyes, used to years of watching cards flying at impossible speeds through his hands, he probably would have missed it, but he chose not to say anything about it. If he was right about what he had just seen, Alex had just given him the means to say almost anything he needed to without the other FBI agents listening in. That must mean that to some degree, she trusted him.
"I know." was all Alex said, and suddenly he felt relieved. He saw her eyes staring up at him, and he thought he saw sorrow in them. It surprised him, seeing the sadness he felt mirrored back at him in her eyes. It was different to the Alex he had seen moments before, who seemed like she really didn’t care about him and before he could really decide what to think of this new look in her eyes, the old one was back and he was leftt thinking that maybe he had imagined it. She turned to him, speaking quickly. When she confirmed she had stopped the mic from working, he smirked. "I know." he said. "I saw you."
Daniel sighed dramatically. “Well finally we both agree on something. Thank god we got that cleared up because for a second there I thought you considered me guilty. Anyway I think there is people working on getting something on Axelson, I’m not really sure, I’ve been here so I’m not particularly up to date.” He stopped, smiling. “Thankyou. I thought you didn’t believe me.” he stopped for a moment, his eyes widening. “Wait you know Dylan is helping?” He stared at her. “What did he tell you?”
"Yeah, truth can be so shocking sometimes, right?" she tried to hide a smile when Daniel faked to wipe off a tear. That was probably the only fun she was going to get from that interview, since there were more important and serious topics about to come.
Alex sighed at him, getting none of that shit. She couldn't understand why he was acting so different to her. Of course, she didn't believe the interview was going to be as their little chat of a few months ago, but still it was a bit... Hurtful. She was feeling different emotions towards that guy: intolerance, torwards his regardless and arrogant behavior; compassion, for his situation, him being held in a prison even though he was completely innocent; respect, for how he was trying to protect his friends, something she comprehended well, something she would have done as well; curiosity, for what was going on in that mind, for what he was thinking and what he putting up.
After the comunications with the other agents had been cut off, she let out a smile for his reply. "Of course you know, you have that trained magician's eye of yours." Alex felt the relief in Daniel's behavior, specially when he next spoke. "No, I don't feel you're guilty. That's- impossible for me to think. For how much I hate magicians, this is a completely different thing, and the fact that you and your friends are of that kind is irrelevant."
His surprise about Dylan telling her the truth was more than justified. Alex tried to make the explanation as quick as possible: "Well, he said that he was behind the robberies and that he's in the Eye. He told me about Axelsen and the Spear, but nothing too deep about it."
Is this your card?
The mask that almost fell | Alex and Jenny
Hurriedly, Jenny made her way through the streets and crowds through the most crowded place possible - easily in New York - in a last ditch attempt to throw Alex off the scent. If Alex was still intent on catching ‘The Masquerader’. She hoped not.
In her rushed desire to escape, Jenny didn’t watch where she was going. She had lost concentration on the road in front of her for just one second when she bumped into someone. She was going to mutter a quick apology and go on when she heard her voice. It was Alex.
"Ah! Alex!" Jenny almost leapt up in shock. "Uh, hi Alex." She had been so close. Just that close to being found out and caught. “Uh, what are you doing here?”
Alex wasn't so surprised to see Jenny there. Her friend was known to love those places like parks and similiar. Places crowded with any different kind of people. Her tone, though, had something different. "Eh, I was around patroling with a colleague... That I lost, to be honest." She gave a look around, knowing that she would never find him again in that mess.
"Actually, I saw the Masquerader. You know, that street magician - I wanted to make her some questions about the Horsemen but she just ran away. Suspiciously."
Sure, I’d really like to know.
And which one do you think it’s the real reason?
Well, there could be many... I really don't know, I'm actually so confused right now.

Cold, so cold || Dylan and Alex
Dylan looked up at the mortuary a a couple of seconds, wondering if it would actually help the Horsemen anyhow or would just make him feel worse. He should probably just accept the fact there was nothing he could do for the novices and let that lawer solve everything. But of course he wouldn’t let that happen. He needed to help, somehow. The problem was he couldn’t think on anything. He couldn’t get the Horsmen out of jail, there was no way.
"Yeah… that too." He looked back at Alex, hoping their visit there was going to make any difference. "Sure, let’s just finish this…" He said, serious, really looking forward for that to end.
Dylan wasn’t exactly anxious to go inside the mortuary. Not because there was dead people in there, but because he was afriad of what he could find out about Larson’s body. If he didn’t find anything useful, he’d be obligated to wait. That was something Dylan actually hated. Wait for something important to happen, incapable to do anything to change it.
"Alright, then... Let's go," Alex was the first one to step inside the facility, the sense of coldness still with here. She wasn't shivering, but she knew she was just about to because all that situation was overwhelming. Were her nerves breaking so fast? She hadn't even seen the body yet... Again. The first time was awful, how would the second one go?
Walking through those corridors was quite scary: it looked like one of those horror movies where the killer was hiding at the next corner, ready to make his umpteenth murder. The sense of death stirred all around.
They reached a man - he was supposed to be like the watchman of the whole place -, who asked: "May I know your names?" Alex waited Dylan to answer. After all, she was only the assistant, and he was the boss.
I sent is some confessions were they not recieved?
Just checked the main, they were received. But I’m not home until the 8th so I can’t make the post for them. So sorry ç—çThere are like seven/eight confessions there, omg!!
HELLO EVERYONE! Quick update: Happy new year everyone!! I don't know how late or soon is for everyone (maybe not much), but anyway... Hope you have a nice day <3
When will the confessions blog be updated? I love reading them
// I love reading them as well! But right now we don’t have any confessions in the inbox so it can’t be updated.
So if someone wants to make confessions about any character, GO AHEAD!
I’d go crazy inside an office for the whole day, so no, not really. And you should give it a try. I mean, how is shooting walls even like?
Oh, I see… it makes sense, actually, they did every FBI agents look like completely idiots… this is more like a ‘revenge’ from the other agents, right?
I have no idea... Never tried it. I will let you know how it feels like though.
Well, I do think so. Or they're really so stupid to not accept the facts as they truly are.
