I'm sorry for the long long wait to start on the art reqs! To answer your question, yes, I'm part of the Alien stage fandom (vivinos when I catch you vivinos)

I've only posted mizisua before, but Ivan is one of my favourites, I see some of my worst qualities in him. He's just a silly doomed little guy you know?

Pls pls pls give a hair tutorial I adore the way you paint hair🤩 also, what program/brushes do you use for your art?

Hellooo! Thank you for your kind words, I use ibispaintX and the brushes I absolutely adore are 'Blurring Brush 1' and 'Pen (Fade)' I might use a few more to add some textures, but these two are my most valued ones!

Now for the tutorial, I've never tried to explain my process before or give a tutorial.. but I'll try my best

So let's colour Zuko's hair with just 3 colours and 2 brushes!

I start with a basic sketch, I don't pay too much attention to the sketch itself, just a form that will most likely be altered as I go on.

Step 1: I create a new layer underneath the sketch and fill in the base colour, I use the Pen (Fade) for most of it.

Step 2: I pick a lighter colour, usually more on the orange/yellow/gray area and decide where I want the light to come from. I clip the layer with the solid colour and draw very vague shapes on top of it, following the flow of the hair.

Step 3: Carefully define the shapes I just made, by erasing the light with inward strokes. I usually shape the highlights like an "H" shape. I go back and forth if I erase too much, play around with thin strands, until it looks okay. After I'm done, I usually merge the two layers together.

Step 4: I lock the layer and pick a darker colour than the one I used for the base and go over the darkest areas, like the roots of the hair, behind the ears and wherever I want there to be more contrast (more contrast means the eye focuses on that part the most)

I lastly add a few single strands of hair with Blurring Brush 1 around the head, for the final touch.

And that's it! We now have hair!

I hope this was helpful! It's a pretty easy way to render hair I think, just play around until it fits. Thank you for coming to my ted talk!

Zukka week is over and honestly, I've never felt such warmth and support in a community before! It was amazing to meet so many people, to see all the creativity and get closer to a lot of you. Thank you for all the love you've given me and to all the artists and writers that shared their works. You made these days memorable.

On that note! Remember Day 1? I did a little comic with Zuko reuniting with Sokka in the spirit world. Well... There's a fic now to go along with it! The wonderful @buffy wrote the story based on my art and I've never felt more honoured to have inspired someone in that way.

The story itself is so lovely, I couldn't have written it better myself even if I wanted to. So please, drop by ao3 and give them all the love, I promise it's so worth reading!

@zukkaweek Day 4: Clothing swap

I think I had the most fun drawing this one and it shows! Sokka is fed up with workaholic Fire Lord Zuko, so he takes matters into his own hands. He steals his clothes, becomes Fire Lord and makes up a whole new law.

As for Zuko wearing Sokka's clothes, I was thinking that maybe they visited Sokka's hometown and Zuko was terribly underdressed. Resulting in Sokka lending him his clothes until they buy him some new ones (they didn't buy new ones, Zuko wore Sokka's clothes the whole time)

Sokka braiding Zuko's hair (aka their nighttime routine) It helps them both relax after a long and hard day.

I wasn't sure about sharing this, I went a bit wild with the art style and didn't know how to feel ab it. But it's probably good enough and it's just my brain telling me otherwise.

I've been loving zukka week so far! There are already so many beautiful artworks and fics. Can't wait to see what's next

I wanted this to be a bit canon compliant. So in this little comic, Sokka is already gone too early, Zuko is old and tired and thinking about all the things he's done as a Fire Lord. He closes his eyes for the last time in the land of the living, and opens them again in the spirit world, where he's reunited with his lost love.
