To obtain strength and precision of a robot arm

Strength and Precision is a paradox in a Robot, just like different kinds of weighing instruments, those to weigh jewelries and those used to weigh a vehicle definitely don't have the same order of magnitude on precision. Also, robots junctions, with the central parts servo motors and decelerators are vulnerable and have a short service life.   So there is a need in engineering to acquire both considerable strength and precision as well as good operation life.  Thus I'd like to design a new type of robot which can approach those standards.  We all know that hydraulic arms are widely used for it can provide huge strength, we can install angle measure sensors to the joints of the hydraulic arms which can feedback how far the dedicated angle is to be reached.  The oil pumps which power the arm also need to be improved, first ,it must bring less oil with a single round it goes, and at least two of them be used when to power a arm, the added one is more precise and will run when the right angle is approaching nearer and nearer, when the added one is working the main one stops .  When under instable pressure of the inner oil, the shape of the tubes delivering oil slightly changed, this change can accumulate when the tube is long enough, which can contribute to the elasticity movement of the plunger of the hydraulic rod. There is no way to get some tube which does not change a little under changing inner pressure. So, we shall locate the smaller pump at the far end of the pipe. In fact, there must be a three-way pipe at the connection of the rod, one way to the main pump, the other to the smaller pump and the third ,of course link to the rod.  there is a mechanism inside the pipe—once the smaller pump is about to run, the way to the bigger pump shut up and maintain the current pressure obtained.  The smaller pump gets its source pressure oil from an independent pipe , it directly traces back to the main oil tank.  Every junction of the arm which needs special power should be equipped with a small pump. A plan to curb school gun shootings

Let us imagine what you really need when you are facing a school gun shooter, and meanwhile the doorway is jammed by students who are desperately trying to get out?

Yes, the answer is "something to hide behind", and if possible ,if you have secured yourself, you need "some weapons to fight back", in order to terminate the dangerous situation.

The gunman wants to kill as many people as possible, this plan makes it impossible for the perpetrator to carry out a massacre , and he will be punished right away. That is the fundamental idea on which the design is based.

Below are the details of this plan,

Shelters:

We make it easy for the victims to shelter themselves in case some one is shooting at them. We can make use of HMWPE boards, which are not possible to be punctured by bullets to achieve this goal.

1. Change the usual panel boards of the desks with HMWPE plates, or decorated HMWPE plates. The boards are light , they are convenient to hold in hands and shelter their bodies.

2. Furthermore, I suggest that no less than 15 or even dozens of HMWPE plates with the size of 50mm*110mm are placed against the walls of the classroom. They are not to be placed in one corner or in a bundle , but evenly along the walls, every piece is due to be located in a certain place with magnets on the wall.

3. Handles should be fixed on these HMWPE plates, and if possible ,observation holes (covered by transparent bulletproof material ), too.

4.The panels of the desks can be designed being easily taken off with force as a whole; the plates hung against the walls are also can be torn down in emergency, If the main body and heads are covered , the students are less vulnerable, they stand good chances to survive. If the victims piece the panels together a shelter wall emerges.

Fight back:

5. (Optional ) Fix some electric laser pens and if possible several electric stun guns beneath the panels of the desks or the chairs, so that in chaos students could grab one to irradiate the gunman’s eyes. This action can take place after the students have sheltered themselves.

In fact, people become less nervous when they get sheltered and if possible , drilled.

6. Drill the students and teachers every month, teach them to use the laser pens and the electric guns , and tell them, don ’t be too nervous and try to escape if the gunman begins to fire, find some plates to cover themselves and aim the perpetrators with laser beam while some others holding the plates dash to the gunman to knock him down, so the gunman could be subdued.

System and maintenance:

7. No one is permitted to move the plates, the laser pens and the electric stun guns in usual time.

Both the HMWPE plates and the electric guns will sound the alarm when it is brought down from their position, so that they could not possibly be occupied by the gunman beforehand.

8. To avoid these stuff being occupied by someone who deliberately comes earlier to the classroom than anyone else, once any of the stuff is not in its right position, an electric board hung above the entrance of the room will note the information and sound the alarm. The information showed on the electric board is also for daily inspection of the system.

Other options and debates:

I also approve that some well trained teachers are armed with concealed guns, and if possible metal detectors are equipped at the entrances, but if the above methods have being deployed this are not essential.

And hiring more men to guard the campus means more budget every year, while the above plan only need to invest once , the yearly maintenance fee is also cheap.

If we employ more patrol guards, in other words , we are adding more gunmen to the areas, there is a chance in a million that these guards have negligence or even worse , one of them turn to be a perpetrator.

Traditionally, we should escape when we happened to face fierce robbers or gangsters , that is because what they want is money. The campus gunmen are totally different at all, their only goal is to kill, imagine again the students of a classroom trying to flee out in chaos , they could not pass through a narrow doorway in a short time, which just offers a nice shooting distance for the gunman, he is then able to shoot freely like a hunter. Flee is not an option in this scenario.

What if the young activist was a bully?

Allegedly, the young activist of gun legislation, Emma had bullied the shooter from the time they are both in a middle school.

And she was lucky enough to survived the tragedy.

This girl then voiced in the public for gun legislations.

I think she might be really frightened, for the gunman should have aimed to bullies, in her logic, guns must be held out of the schools, or the bullies will certainly be put in a danger situation.

For months, too many people showed their support to the girl, now, when she ended up to be revealed being a bully, and meanwhile the reason of the tragedy, those people must be astonished.

I am not sure how these people developed a character of evil, but we should really keep an eye on them, for they will hurt the vulnerable when they get an opportunity.
