I'll Be Here for You
Cole Cassidy was a man who spent most of his life moving around from place to place, not a lot of it from his own choices until he was sixteen. His life choices got a little dicey after that, he could admit, but it had been a couple years after a life-threatening situation that knocked him back onto the right path. That path had lead him here, to the dorms of university. He stared at the building, standing by his two suitcases that held everything he owned.
If he were honest with himself, he was terrified. He didn't know what he was doing, didn't know what he wanted to do, and had taken up a major that seemed mildly interesting (criminal detective). Now he had to face the dorm situation. It hadn't been his first choice, but he had quickly learned that on campus or near campus housing was near impossible to afford.
He sighed, and resigned himself to his fate. Better to get it over with and start the process. He just hoped his roommate would be decent.

Cole rubbed the back of his neck and leaned forward onto the table. The faintest tint on his own cheeks was clear then, as he smiled back at him.
āI like it too. Beinā āround all our friends is nice and all butā¦on our ownā¦ā the fingers of his free hand tapped on the table, āYouāre the only one I can really talk to about anything without fear of being judged. Or scolded for whatever.ā
Jamieās own blush just deepens though his smile widens at hearing that Cole likes spending time with him took.
āIāll be back. Iāve gotta go to the bathroom before we leave,ā he says hurrying to the restroom. He goes and splashes some water on his face. Heās so nervous but happy at the same time. He really really likes Cole and doesnāt want to screw this up, but it seems like Cole likes him too. Heās so nervous. He wants this to go well
Cassidy waited until Jamie was out of eye sight before he pulled out his phone. Panicked, he sent a text to whoever popped up first in his contacts (that wasnāt Jamie).
sunset watch 2 romantic? not a date but sorta feels like one? HELP
His instincts told him maybe it was a touch too much. But the way Jamie looked at him- and the way Coleās own heart felt⦠Better get some third party help. His own emotions were complicated to decipher, especially after all theyād been through the last year.
Luckily for Cole, the next contact is Angela who knows both him and Jamie very well and is 100% rooting for them to get together. She and Lucio are hanging out together when she gets the text. She quickly responds.
Not too romantic, itās perfect. Go for it. Me and Lucio are cheering you on! ššš¼
With it is a picture of her and Lucio giving him encouraging thumbs up.
Cole felt his cheeks warm more when he realized exactly who he had messaged. It didnāt matter of course. The words of encouragement were all he cared about, and he smiled softly at his phone for a moment before tucking it away. The waitress came back with the bill, Cole paid, and he waited patiently for Jamieās return.
If you count a bouncing leg and tapping fingers patient. Nerves ate at him as he realized that this was easily read as a date. He knew Jamie had some sort of feelings for him, but Cole was nervous. The self-confidence he usually carried was often a mask. One that fell around the people he cared about.
Jamie returns to the table just as the waitress is bringing back the check for Cole to sign. āAre we all ready to go?ā He asks trying not to seem too eager to go get boba tea and watch the sunset with Cole
A quick signature later and Cole was on his feet, offering his arm out to Jamie.
āAll set!ā He said, leading the way out, āWhich way?ā

The ease at which the host handled the issue caused that little nagging feeling to disappear. Cole sighed in relief, and, without much thought behind it, took Jamie's hand and smiled at the host. "Don't mind one bit, thank you much for this."
āItās no problem. As an apology for the trouble Iāll make sure your first drinks are free.ā She tells them before gesturing to the bar. They only have to wait a few minutes before sheās leading them to a table. āYour waitress will be with you shortly.ā
āWow this place is really great.ā
"Damn," Cole said, and led the way to the bar, "It really is. I did have a backup plan if we wind up not likin' this spot- I was afraid we'd have to go there earlier than expected for a minute." They sat and Cole turned toward Jamie when normally he would turn toward the bartender first. "That being said, if you don't like it we can leave whenever."
āYeah me too, but everythingās worked out. Iām excited to try the food here. Lucio told me itās really delicious. Especially their bread and the deviled eggs appetizer.ā
He replies with a smile. When the bartender asks for their drinks he orders a rum.
Cassidy ordered a whiskey, and looked around at the atmosphere of the place. Part of him had been worried he would feel out of place- but surprisingly he did not. Jamie being there made things better too, of course. Cole felt that warmth creep into his chest again, and he let it stay this time. No use in fighting something that stubborn. "Order whatever you want, it's my treat."
āIf you insist,ā he responds with a smile clinking his glass lightly against Coleās. Soon theyāre lead to their table and Jamie orders them the deviled eggs appetizer and the waitress brings out bread for them. Itās fresh from the over and delicious.
The table was nice, the bread was nice, the lighting was nice. It really brought out the softer features on Jamieās face. Sharpened others. Made himā¦well. Cole half hid behind his menu, hiding the way his cheeks warmed slightly. Attractive. Jamie really was attractive. Cole could find his friends attractive, that was normal. After taking a small breath, he cleared his throat and sipped at his drink.
āYou like those eggs?ā
Jamie nods, āyeah theyāre delicious. The hot sauce is amazing on them. Try it I think youāll really like it.ā He suggests.
"Don't mind if I do," he said, reaching for one. Jamie, of course, was right. It was good. If a place couldn't make deviled eggs properly he wasn't going to trust it. This made him hopeful for their entrees. Cole hummed in appreciation as he looked up at Jamie. "So far so good- this place is pretty good so far."
Jamie is so happy, getting to be with someone he cares about and he knows cares about him in return. Just being able to fully relax and not have to worry about being watched by anyone. To know that heās not only safe, but thanks to it being Cole heās with he truly FEELS safe.
The dinner went well, even better than Cole had expected, really. During which they talked about games and movies they had just recently played or watched. they talked about how school was going for the both of them, andā¦
Cassidy decided that the warm fuzzies he was feeling couldnāt really be ignored much. It had started well before the Incident, but he had reason to ignore it then. Reason to ignore it right after all of that too. But nowā¦? Cole leaned back in his chair, watching Jamie.
āDo you want to watch the sunset with me?ā
Jamie enjoys chatting with Cole as they eat. Talking with his is so much easier than it ever was with Tyler. With Tyler he always had to make sure he didnāt say something to set Tyler off. But with Cole, itās easy and fun. She finds himself laughing more with Cole than he ever did with Tyler. The fluttery feeling in his chest that he gets around Cole is back and bigger than ever and for the first time, Jamie doesnāt try shoving it down.
He smiles at Coleās question and nods, āyeah Iād love to. Do you know a spot?ā
A slow grin pulled at his lips, and he nodded. "I do. It's a surprise though, because I want to see your genuine first reaction to it." It'll be beautiful, he thought. "We can get dessert someplace on the way if you got a sweet tooth."
āThereās a boba place down the street. I donāt know if I ever told you but I freaking love boba,ā he tells Cole blushing a bit at admitting just how much he loves it.
āI think you may have mentioned it once. I donāt believe Iāve had the chance to try some before either.ā
Cole waved down the waitress and politely asked for the check. When they walked away again, Coleās eyes were back on Jamie immediately. The rosy color on the manās cheeks made him want to find ways to see it again.
āWe can walk? Sunset spot aināt too far from here and if bobaās down the street thatās perfect.ā

"DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!"
Well he wasn't sure what he expected. The suppressants weren't taking as well as they use to and he could tell his own scent was coming through now. He had to figure out how to do his damn job with this stupid monthly cycle hanging over his head! He stared at his reflection in the mirror for a long time. The dark rings under his eyes, and the paleness of his skin. He was small even for an omega, but he was far stronger. He worked hard to compete with the alphas and betas in Overwatch. He was NOT going to let his heat ruin that.
So he threw back another handful of the suppressants and started his day.
After the mission however he felt even worse. He felt hazed, and it was hard to not be tired. While everyone else was enjoying a meal and talking about their take downs, Jol was sitting quietly, resting onto his forearm. Even as his master, Hanzo slapped him on the back and praised his timing on the improving of his aim. He just nodded, forcing out a smile before getting up to get some air. Fuck he was in trouble. Everything hurt, he was stressed to the brink, and he was still going to have to figure out what he was going to do about his suppressants.
@babe-cassidy
Jol tried to keep his giggle contained as they walked inside. But it was soon clear why he had walked into the bedroom first. As Cole walked into the room, Jol was already untying his robe like tunic, and shrugging off his clothes. Taking the tie from his hair and letting it flow down his back with a grin. Knowing that when his hair was down his natural heat scent would mix with scent of his shampoo. He was being a tease at this point but it was all in good fun.
He sat down on the bed and gave Cole a hungry look then. "Like you said,.... no rules." He said reaching out to take Cole's hand and bring him closer. "My alpha." He purred softly. Oh he was pressing every button he could think of.
Cassidy's eyes tracked every little movement the moment that he set the bags down. They were quickly forgotten about as the scent of his mate reached him. His head got fuzzy, and the heat of arousal that had already been simmering started to boil over.
Cole licked his lips as he let himself be pulled forward. The teasing was too good. Jol knew exactly which buttons to push, and Cole was at his beck and call. They had been wound up tight lately, and after everything-- it was a relief to know they could let go right here, right now. Even if only for a little while.
His hands gripped Jol's hips; not too tightly, but enough to make it known that he was barely in control. His eyes told the same story, since they were dark and hooded as he leaned in to steal a kiss.
Jol smirked up at Cole, and laid back, tugging Cole with him. More than happy to kiss the larger man right back. Cupping his cheek with one and, and tangling his fingers into the gun slinger's hair with the other. The moment their lips touched Jol could feel his heat flaring up. Cole set every sense on fire just with the simplest touch.
As he pulled away from the kiss to breath it was clear just how Cole made him feel. "I love you,... You know that right? More than anything."
There were equal parts of Cole fighting on what to do. Savoring the moments they had, taking things slow, seemed to sensual and romantic. They didn't have enough of that while at base, he felt. They were never truly alone. But there was the animal in him that wanted to bite, claim, and shove Jole onto the bed right now. Tear the clothing between them apart and just get to the point. Cole kept kissing Jole's jaw and neck even as they broke for air. He whimpered some, the animal tamed with the proclamation of love. The romantic in him winning over so quickly. "I love you too," he murmured, "Let me show you. Let me worship you tonight, darlin'."
