Got some Galaxy express 999 records.

It came with a lot of extras like behind the scene stuff, cel scans of some of the scenes in the show/movie and even a calendar. What gets my interest is that this is one of the very rare moments where you can see the TV-series in HD since Toei animation won’t rescan most of their old shows.

Touhou Illusionary Ridge and the Fastest Legend ~ Project Downhill Queen It's a package containing a music album with Touhou arrangements, illustrations by various artists drawing Touhou characters and a small manga.

Initial D extra stage 1 & 2 VCD.

I don't have a VCD player, but I decided to buy this only to have high quality artwork of the initial D girls. Since it seem every scan of them online is low res and the JP DVDs are really expensive. So this was a nice alternative since it only costed me $20 in total.

GBA TV tuner I bought back in 2012. I would use this to play my Wii and other consoles in the GBA SP screen back when we only had 1 TV at home, so this was my way of continuing playing games when my parents wanted to watch TV after work.

Screen may have been really tiny and low res, but it was better than nothing.

I never really used it for TV cause the reception was always poor and never got any good channel on it.

I mostly bought it cause I really like the Pepsi logo cd. The songs in this CD are alright. Very... 2000s.

So after a long time of working in extracting the game sprites, I got help from a friend to create a script that would import new sprites into the game. So I decided to make a touhou mod just for fun. I'm probably the first person to ever mod this game.

So I was reading the official translation of "He is my master" and noticed that it was really dark compare to the Japanese scans. Like, Reeeaaaally dark to the point that a lot of details get lost. It's been a long time since the last time I did a manga translation, but since I really like this series I might probably do a... I guess you could call it retranslation? Because the manga is already translated, so all I would do is rewrite the text on the Japanese raws. Although I do wonder if I should keep the translation the same, since reading the Japanese scans made me realize the English release added some flavor text that wasn't in the original. Example being "Kyaaa!" in Japanese scans, but in the English scans it got translated as "Back off you pervert!" so that's one thing I will have to consider when retranslating this.

I haven't post umineko stuff here for a long time, but today I finally completed a goal I made quite some time ago, which was to get all of the umineko no naku Koro ni gold edition DVDs.

Took some time to complete it since they're expensive and also hard to find (The last half of the set are the most difficult to obtain)

Amusingly enough I got some repeated volumes because I found an auction bundling some of them and it just so happened to have some repeated ones along with a few I needed. So I just bought it cause it was cheaper and faster than buying them individually in another site/auction.

And also bought some other umineko stuff I happened to find affordable while I was looking for the Gold DVDs, so they're nice addition to the collection.

Feels nice to finally be done with the search.

So an update on the crazy taxi DC restoration mod for the steam version. A guy came to my discord server and figure out how to restore the pizza hut textures and the FILA building. Apparently instead of patching the textures, sega used the exe to manually edit the building models to remove the building textures. That’s such an odd thing to do. but then again, it’s suffering from a lot of flickering, so they probably got lazy and removed it instead of fixing the rendering. (That, or the restauration attempt is still not perfect) either way, we’re close to restoring crazy taxi as close to the DC as possible.

Looking at the anime cel does make me wish the show was rescanned to fix how dark the colors were in the DVDs. The inside of the cars are pretty much cover in darkness while the cel does show the details of the inside. Plus a proper rescan would fix the ghosting the DVDs have.

I was looking at the initial D super Eurobeat albums and the artwork uses the anime cels and even HD render of the CGI cars and roads. So this is how Initial D would look like if it wasn’t stuck in standard resolution... It’s really a shame the BD are just upscale of the DVDs instead of rescanning the episodes film rolls and re-exporting the CGI in HD.

Hello. May I ask if you could help me set up O.N.G.E.K.I. Plus for pc. I'm not sure how to work the controls, the server and whatever. I only have a keyboard, no joystick, but i was hoping i could work it with mouse maybe.

Sorry, I haven't touch it since I made the last ongeki video in may of last year, so I don't remember the steps you had to do to get it to run since it took like 2 hours back then configuring the emulator and test menu . All I know is that it should technically be easier to run now if the emulator has made any progress since then. but as I said, I haven't touch the game so I'm not sure how much they fix in the emulator.

Funny how I'm just trying to extract the game sprites and they end up looking like unintentional shit posting because of a wrong value when extracting.
