Nitty’s Knocker Live

Nitty’s Knocker is an exciting online radio show highlighting the different and unique voices of Chicago, IL and nationwide. 

The show is hosted by the Unicorn queen herself, Serinity Marie, and her co-host, Brandon.

I got to sit in on this dope show and capture a few instances of personality exhaulting through the guest and host.

The guest included Play Boi Rice, a Chicago podcaster, and “Jus-Fe,” two highschool students from Gwendolyn Brooks Highschool.

Each offered a different outlook on topics such as Trayvon Martins 23rd birthday and how the Kardashian’s effect young women.

4th Annual Arts Festival

with Cherokee Street Reach and Friends

Since the summer of 2014, St. Louis, Missouri based Street Reach works with Cherokee neighborhood youth in co-creating practical, actionable, positive social change through art. 

Volunteers are local artist and the kids come from the surrounding neighborhoods led by their parents.

For the 4th annual celebration, activities included: Yoga class, Chess, Facepainting, Actual Painting with a design created by Basil Kincaid,  Bracelet making by Dacia “Inngergy” Polk, Tie-dying led by Eugenia Alexander and many more! 

The highlight of my time was the selection of free books given out to the kids. Some even grabbed some for their younger siblings who had to stay home. 

It was great to be able to volunteer my time and photography skills for such a uplifting event!

IndiHopSTL 2017

with Beer Fanatics of STL

IndiHopSTL is Independent neighborhoods celebrating independent breweries. The Grove and Cherokee Street unite for one amazing event each year to provide our community a taste. Ticket buyers taste up to 50 beers, receive an IndiHop glass, printed guide, and access to shuttles traveling between the neighborhoods.

I was able to shoot this event and enjoyed capturing all the happy and possibly tipsy people!

St. Louis Blues Canned Food Collection

Country Financial hosted a collection spot for the St. Louis Blue’s canned food drive on March 3rd. Player Kevin Shattenkirk attended with the St. Louis Blue’s mascot and signed autographs, collected donations for a raffle and took pictures with people who attended.

The even was filled with lots of smiles, snack’s and team spirit for the St. Louis Blue’s!

Honored to be selected to capture the essence of this beautiful black woman for her birthday. The black woman is such a spectacle to gaze upon and I’ll never be satisfied with lone pictures attempting to box it, but Im proud of these lovely shots!

Do the world a favor and go tell the nearest black woman next to you, “Your Beautiful!”. We don’t get told enough and we certainly are the most beautiful creature walking this Earth.

Bryson Tiller at The Pageant.

“With this being a sold out concert, everybody in attendance felt like the luckiest person on the planet. Bryson Tiller brought his T R A P S O U L Tour to St. Louis with a bang and his opener, THEY, followed suite.

THEY, a dynamic duo from Los Angeles, served as a perfect opener for Bryson Tiller. Their energy and voice level was perfect for The Pageant’s venue and you could hear each word articulated by them. The DJ, Donte, came skipping out onto stage wearing a similar outfit as his singeing counterpart, Drew Love. White T-shirts, red hats and jeans were adorned by both performers for their set. There second song was their popular single “Motley Crew” and they presented a new song named “Deep End”.”

Tinashè at The Ready Room

“This was an abnormal day of the year for an above-average performance. February 29 only happens once every four years, and this was a great anniversary for Tinashè’s first headlining performance in St. Louis.

People began lining up outside the Ready Room for VIP and general admission an hour before the doors opened. Within the lines were people of all races, ages, genders, and sexual orientations. When the door opened, we could see several younger fans jumping for joy as we all walked in. Once in, we could feel the energy of what the night would entail. Tinashè and her opener JAHKOY were ready to blow our minds with their talents—and that’s exactly what they did on this leap night.”

Christmas in the Marsh Land’s

W/ My Mothers Side | Dec. 22 - Dec 29

Beaufort South Carolina is the epitome of a family environment to me. It was here where I learned that my family is everything and exactly how important a good family environment is to developing strong youth. 

When you exist in a location where everybody knows you and your family, it makes you carry yourself different. People treat you with the respect you deserve and that in turn makes you feel like your far more important to this world an can make a huge impact. 

My time in Beaufort was spent with my family everyday and It was wonderful. I finally got to celebrate their “12 Days of Christmas” where all of my great grandmothers children met up at a different siblings house every night for dinner and a family activity. 

On Christmas eve we all spent the night over my Grandparents and woke up to breakfast and presents. This was my first family Christmas in a long time where I was actually excited to wake up on the 25th. We opened our presents together then went to the marshes to take family pictures where our love radiated on camera and I taught my family how to work a DSLR camera. 

These images are only a few that I caught from my mothers side of the family. The side of the family that I rarely see, but when I do, it just feels right.

Iris’ Birthday Extravaganza

A child's first year of life is a very important one. It is during this first year that they receive wisdom that they will need for the rest of their life. A child take’s the first of infinite amount of steps, they learn how to interact with other humans, they grow teeth that they need to use to eat the first of the grown up food’s ever, and so much more.

Thank you to Jasmine and Amir Wail for allowing me to experience the birth and growth of their first child. I’ve learned a lot an intended to continue learning and growing through this vessel of life you’ve graced the world with.

St. Louis was his second stop on this tour as he brought along people from everywhere who embodied the soul and country-ness of their hometown.”
