When watching this scene in chapter two the whole jumping out the window and growing wings I got the vibe that this fantasy was something she thought of often then just a spur of the moment answer.
River scene normal route:
N: āFor a long timeā¦ Iāve actually been thinking about.. what would happen if I leftā¦ā
S: āYou mean, like ran away from homeā¦?ā
This proves my hypothesis of Noelle possibly being applied to be $uicidal (100% dissociative and isolated tho)
Scary things she associates with freedom, Susie she admires because she does whatever she wants, her actions are free. Heights scary but flying is freedom and escape. She plays a games āweird routeā purposely out of curiosity or freedom to control her actions in a game. She likes to watch scary movies because she knows she has the freedom to turn them off. She has control.
And letās not forget the repeated phrase Noelle uses to justify snowgrave in chapter 2: It will make me stronger.
But in reality thereās a limit and a large line that separates doing things that are scary and doing things that will actively harm you. I think the weird route blurs that for her.
And now death is scary, and the lake is cold. But could freedom be worth it?
Now idk if the lake scene was her actively trying to drown Kris and herself or if she actually believed theyād make it across. But damn
