Anyone down to read the absolute hobbit rip off I wrote like a year and a half ago featuring the hermits? I do subconsciously imagine people look like their pf's no matter how fictional it is or whatever. Hell if you have a picture of a muffin as pf, that's just you in my mind now, accept it. That's also why I almost never change my pf's. I still look like mine for the most part, but my bangs have grown and I usually just hang them behind my ears and I have brown glasses now. Other than that- still pretty accurate.

Little rant;

As many of you know, I'm a sucker for stationary but especially fountain pens. I own quite a few, ranging from dirt cheap to pretty expensive. I know my way around them. Cue me sitting at the dining table at my bf's place, talking to his parents, and pens come up. His dad says he's got a Parker fountain pen, but it never really worked so it's been left to catch dust, asks me to take a look at it. He grabs the pen, I open it up, sure there is a converter in it and a ton of dried up ink. I ask him what ink he put in, he grabs it; it's Chinese brush / calligraphy / permanent ink. My heart drops. It's everything that doesn't belong in a fountain. Looking at the quality of the pen- likely it wasn't cheap, gold plated nib and accents, black sleek design, Parker branding. I don't know the make- I've tried to figure it out and I might ask reddit for help, but no clue. I have spent the entire rest of the evening cleaning out this pen- it wasn't enough. I was determined to bring it back from the brink of death, unsure if it could be saved. The gold plating on the nib was dissolved by the ink, only remnants left, there were literal pieces of dried ink in the shape of the nib coming out of it. It was so stuck in the converter I could barely twist it down to suck up the water. I could only imagine how back it would be in the flow channels of the nib.

Anyway, a few weeks, a shit ton of time, enough water to flood a small village and some good ol' blood, sweat and tears later. I've filled it with parker blue fountain pen ink. It's working. It's writing. I just packed it in my bag to hand it back over to his dad but like, I'm gonna give him a crash course pen care.

Spent two years in the dating way of life now. I love my boyfriend, I love him to everything and back. But sometimes... Sometimes I genuinely wish I could take a look inside. Maybe fiddle with the wires and re-route some shit.

So, I got a bill of £984 from a previous employer in the mail and I'm currently unemployed. As many of you are aware I'm diagnosed autisitc and suffer from anxiety and depression as well.

now to my fave minecraft worldbuilding topic

what can you cook? what's edible? what's possible with enough imagination?

I'd like to start with things that are present in-game (vanilla), first, the foods and drinks (ingredients too), having a loaf of bread with a nice mushroom stew seasoned with dandelions for breakfast is an option taken straight from the game

now let's say that I take the apples, wheat, milk, sugar and eggs to make an apple pie, that isn't in the game, but it's something possible to craft

in an extend things like salt can exist because the presence of sea water, same as things like bacon (pigs), cheese (milk) and so on

what if I throw the existing leaves in hot water to make tea?

or since all the dyes have an organic source can I make a rainbow cake?

how you cook things must be important too I imagine, maybe steak cooked in the smoker tastes way better than cooked with a fire aspect sword

Okay so. I may have gone a little insane.

Yes, azalea leaves are very poisonous. BUT they are also the most closely related plant to actual tea leaves in the whole game. I made a chart.

The “Score” is the number of categories it has in common with Camellia sinensis, the tea plant. C. sinensis‘s classfication is: plantae, tracheophytes, angiosperms, eudicots, asterids, ericales, theaceae, camellia, c. sinensis.

SO taking cactus as an example, we’re looking at the Cactaceae family. They’re plantae, tracheophytes, angiosperms, and eudicots, but they’re caryophyllales and not asterids. So they get 4 points.

There are a bunch of asterids, earning 5 points, but the only plant on the list that is also in Ericales is the azalea!

So maybe an intrepid player can breed a non-toxic azalea to make Real Tea out of, but I think I’ll stick to herbal infusions and potions instead.
