Do you have any suggestions for beginner artist and just art over all?
heyy, i have been kinda un post-y lately but i’m back now and i don’t normally have advice but i’ll try ^.^
do the thing. well, more specifically find your thing, and then do it. idc what it is but if you wanna start making art you should totally try a lot of stuff and go all out testing things or acting on any ideas you have, bc hey-you could find something you’re seriously incredible at. so yeah, try as many “types” of art as you can-it’ll give you an idea of what you’re into.
if you’ve already found your thing(s) then that is super cool (keep trying new ones if you want) but if you’re doing something that you really like then don’t stop bc stuffs that make you happy are the best.
literally give no fucks. sometimes you may make something that is so bad in your own opinion that you just wanna cry (i have legitimately been there and ik i’ll find myself in that position again) but just try and remember (ik it’s hard omg) that it’s all part of a process and that it really doesn’t matter. like, at all. try and laugh about it if you can.
another thing. you don’t need to do art everyday and the silly misconceptions about this annoy me ahh (mainly bc i am sick, but also lazy and procrastinate-y). but seriously, do it when you want. okay, there are times when i do force myself to do a 2 minute sketch with the promise that if i hate it, i can go back to watching youtube videos, but this is usually when my motivation is not even a thing anymore. ((like, when it’s practically the antithesis of itself-see: anti-motivation as a concept?)) also, with a solution like that, 9 times out of 10 i actually get into the sketch and stick with it.
uh…look at stuff and engage with surrounding thingys i guess (who am i to tell you what to do haha?)-sometimes the stuff that inspires you is surprising, but people are influenced by so many different things, so just pick some.
anyways, there are so many more things i could say, but i picked a few i could think of quickly. i hope i helped, even if only a tiny bit <3
