The Magic Garden Pub - Battersea, London
An eclectic, colourful and welcoming hideaway. Fairy lights, live music, drinks and a tipi, what else do you need?
A unique way to display items, the way things are displayed is often just as important as the objects themselves.
Hybrid Office by Edward Ogosta
Set in an LA warehouse, this office space was designed to create varying degrees of privacy in the different work areas. The simple colour palette and materials used create a blank canvas and a calming space to work in. Is this the future of office design?
Precarious Perches
Would you dare to take a perch on either of these? The Spike Chair by Alexander Lervik and The Dome Stool by Toer look as though they'd be both incredibly uncomfortable and more the the point unstable. This is where the genius of design comes in to play as they are actually perfectly stable and fairly comfortable.
Integra Desk
An integration of design and practicality.

New Google Offices in Tel Aviv
Creating a work space that people want to be in is, I believe, one of the main factors of having a productive company. Being inside a space that creates an impact surely spurs people to want to make an impact themselves. Google are on another level with their incredible office spaces - who wouldn't want to work somewhere like this?
Alexander Mcqueen - Savage Beauty
I saw this exhibit in New York at the Metropolitan Museum, to this day it is one of the most breathtaking exhibitions I have ever seen. Images do not do justice to the incredible clothing which are more like works of art. Not only this but the lighting, graphics, and other effects such as wind machines also cannot be experienced through an image. It was obvious that ever aspect was thought about and the level of detail was inspiring.
Burnham Pavilion by Zaha Hadid Architects
A temporary pavilion built in Millennium Park with the stunning Chicago skyline sprawled out behind it. As small as it is compared to the huge skyscrapers that surround it, it manages to make an impact and stand out due to its stunning and sleek design. I also found the original plans, sections and drawings interesting because they show how an original idea can be brought to life.
Check out Eater’s Good News Bad News column, today they featured sister spot, El Toro Blanco: Last month, John McDonald and Josh Capon opened their stylish new Village Mexican restaurant, El Toro Blanco. The space features a bar, a large dining room, and a guacamole station, plus cacti and old Mexican tile pieces. The menu includes regional dishes from all over Mexico, many of which were developed for the restaurant by Southern California chef Scott Linquist. So far, early diners love the vibe and the food — especially the appetizers.
Here’s a roundup of what people are saying about El Toro Blanco:
Interesting layout and rustic design, having different areas for different activities creates a fluid well organised space.
Dalziel & Pow - Primark Oxford Street
High impact visuals and neon colours have made Primark a design contender on the high street.
Plans for Frank Lloyd Wright’s National Insurance Building, 1924, Chicago.
Meant to have been built on North Michigan Ave at Chicago Ave, the glass and copper facade proved to be too expensive for developers. This building is often cited as the greatest FLW structure that was never built.
Beautiful plans , such a shame that it was never built
I love looking at maps, especially old ones, they are so intricate and detailed. I experimented with collage and distortion of colour to create these four.
Every great architect is necessarily a great poet. He must be a great original interpreter of his time, his day, his age.

Aesop
Ever since I visited my first Aesop store in Shoreditch I've become slightly obsessed with the inventive designs. Each store is unique yet they all link and intertwine due to the way they are designed. Using the product as part of the decor of the store is a design feature found in all of the stores and is one of the ways you can spot them.
Up in the Trees
If you never take the time to look above your surrounding you could miss seeing one of the many amazing small spacing being created in amongst the trees. Combine beautiful architecture and design with the simple and traditional concept of the treehouse and you could end up with something high impact hiding amongst the greenery.
