Hi guys, I’m sorry to disappoint you with this post, but I won’t be posting today because there is a huge thing going on in my country and I feel terrible. I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a while, but I didn’t know how to write this. Basically, the north of my country is burning, partly due to the dry period the area is going through and climate change, but also because of both legal and illegal felling. Almost 13 provinces had been affected by the fire. Yes, 13! A lot of people has lost their homes, and the little green areas we have on the north are almost gone! This is terrible not only for the community but also to our planet!! Now, you may be wondering why no one is talking about this? Well, Argentina is probably one of the most ignored coutries around the world. As far as we know, NO OTHER NATION HAS OFFERED TO HELP! NO ONE! Our amazing and brave firefighters are giving their lives to save the community, but the wheather is not helping the situation. We have been waiting for the rain to help us, but nothing is happening. You know, when Australia was burning, everyone wanted to help. California IS BURNING NOW and it’s all over the media. The Amazonas was on fire a while ago, and everyone cared! Why no one is spreading the word about my country’s situation as well?? I know this is something our government should be taking care of, but they are not doing much. I trully believe that if they hear people talking about this, specially from outside, they will do something about this! I know telling you this is not the point of my blog, and don’t get me wrong! I’m not throwing blame to the people who knows about this and doesn’t share the information. No! I’m just asking for your help! We need the world to see what’s happening here! It kills me to see what my country is going through, but what it kills me the most is the fact that no one outside seems to care! I’m gonna leave you some pictures for everyone to see, and if you feel like helping, please spread the word!! Share the post, tell your friends on social media, whatever you can do will help!! Again, I’m sorry if this is not the kind of post you were waiting, but I don’t know what else to do! I’m very far away from the fires, but there is a lot of people losing their homes. Holy shit…. Never Again Action (the group who started #JewsAgainstICE) had an ICE detention truck drive through them while they were shutting down Wayne Detention Center in Rhode Island this evening (August 14th).

Like they were holding the line across the entry gate and refusing to let night shift guards in and a massive truck just, fucking, drove up to them then slowed as the protestors got up from where they were sitting, alarmed, then the truck accelerated into people.

We got hit with a truck DRIVEN BY A DETENTION CENTER GUARD and pepper sprayed and many people ended up in the hospital - one man in his sixties has a broken leg and a potentially broken back because of it. Never Again Action has been protesting ICE the entire time. Recently they launched a virtual protest against ICE’s vigilante justice program in Chicago. If you want to read more about this program, this is a link to an NPR article (dated 7/10/2020) and a Chicago news article (dated 7/10/2020).

Please protect our trans people! Especially our BLACK trans people! Black transgender people have an extremely high unemployment rate at 26 percent, two times the rate of the overall transgender sample and four times the rate of the general population. A startling 41 percent of Black respondents said they had experienced homelessness at some point in their lives, more than five times the rate of the general U.S. population. Black transgender people lived in extreme poverty with 34 percent reporting a household income of less than $10,000 per year. This is more than twice the rate for transgender people of all races (15 percent), four times the general Black population rate (9 percent), and eight times the general U.S. population rate (4 percent). Black transgender people were affected by HIV in devastating numbers. More than one-fifth of respondents were living with HIV (20.23 percent), compared to a rate of 2.64 percent for transgender respondents of all races, 2.4 percent for the general Black population, and 0.60 percent of the general U.S. population.

From education to employment and housing discrimination, from police brutality to health care disparities, Black transgender people are suffering at extremely high rates due to bigotry and transphobia. Nearly half of all Black transgender respondents report being harassed at work and at school. Twenty-six percent are unemployed and 34 percent report annual incomes of less than $10,000 per year. These numbers are appalling and these living conditions are unacceptable for any human being — gender conforming or not.  

The black community particularly has a tendency to turn a blind eye to the hate that trans people get. We as a community are being discriminated against daily, and yet we can be the main ones who discriminate our OWN people sometimes. If Black lives matter, then ALL BLACK LIVES should matter. Yes, that includes all the QUEER and non-conforming lives as well.
