The Fall - A Hello Neighbor Fanfic
A scary night in Raven Brooks. The Weather Station looks like it's still dark from the shadows. Meanwhile, Maritza stood, her fists tightening. Ivan also stood beside her, worried.
She confronted the Crowfaces, breathing hard but trying to be brave, holding her bat. Crowfaces leaned closer, whispering at her.
Crowface: This... is when you took Peterson's black book.
Crowface #2: You're still a traitor. We used you before it's too late.
Maritza: Well, no! I knew everything would happen!
Ivan: Please... don't fall again...
Maritza: *to Ivan* I won't.
Before Crowface would say anything, Enzo's voice echoed.
Enzo: *shouting* GET AWAY FROM HER!!
Enzo stepped in front of Maritza and Ivan, protecting them as he confronted the Crowfaces.
Enzo: *tries to be brave* You should stay away from my sister! She's the one protecting me!
Ivan: *scared* Maritza, tell him something.
Maritza: Please don't fall on a hole, Enzo. The hole is too dangerous, and you'll get seriously injured!
Enzo: *sighs* I won't fall. I promise. *to Crowfaces* If Maritza was a cultist, I would've been caught-
“Moments before disaster”.
Enzo took two steps back, and his foot almost slipped.
Maritza ran and tried to catch Enzo, but something invisible slammed him.
Then... Enzo fell on a hole instead. However, his panicked screams are heard as he disappeared in the dark.
Enzo: *almost a high-pitched scream, eyes more wide, scared* AAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
A heavy, loud thud is heard. Enzo hit his head hard, but he didn't die - he began unconscious. Rocks scattered around him, pinning his leg and arm, and breaking his glasses. Meanwhile, his hand is also pierced. He got multiple injuries, bruises and scrapes.
Ivan and Maritza's hearts jumped, with them looking down.
Maritza: *traumatized, voice trembling* ...Enzo...?
Ivan: *traumatized* ...We're doomed...
Maritza: Told him he would get injured. *sniffles*
They went down, seeing him unmoving.
Maritza: No... *covers her mouth, tears fill her eyes*
Maritza came closer to her unconscious brother, fear and sadness writing all over her face.
Maritza: ...No, no, no... *realizes, screams* NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! *starts sobbing, breaks down, covers her face, many tears run down her cheeks*
Ivan: *hugs her tighter* Hey, hey! It's okay! We'll fix it! *breathes unevenly, tries to comfort her*
Maritza: *muffled crying* How could they do this to my brother!?
Trinity heard screams. She ran first, looked down and saw what happened. Her eyes widened in horror.
Delroy: Bro, that thud really scared me. *to Trinity* What're you looking at?
Trinity: Don't you see it? I hear Maritza's cries down there!
Delroy: Where? *sees down* Oh.
Finch: I thought something wasn't happening.
They got ropes, got down and saw Enzo motionless, Maritza crying, and Ivan panicking.
Trinity: Enzo!? Guys, is Enzo okay!? *wakes Enzo up* Oh no... *voice almost trembling*
Maritza: *continues crying on Ivan's shoulder* No! He's unconscious!
Trinity: Then we dial an ambulance!
Finch: Then just do it faster!!
Delroy: On it. *dials already the ambulance*
Ivan: *holds Maritza* You're okay. *tears almost fill his eyes, wipes them quickly*
Trinity sees Enzo's pierced hand, then almost faints.
Trinity: Catch me.. *tries to stand*
The ambulance arrived at the Weather Station. Two paramedics rushed in, then they saw the hole.
Paramedic #1: Who fell down there!?
Paramedic #2: Let's go see.
They went down with two ropes, and they spotted the incident.
Paramedic: #1: Tell me kids, what happened?
Ivan: Our friend fell, hit his head and got seriously injured. Even though his sister can't talk because she's crying.
Paramedic #2: Okay, got it.
They found a way up. However, two paramedics lifted Enzo onto a stretcher and closed the doors. The ambulance leaves and the blue and red lights fade into the darkness.
Maritza: *continues crying* You can't leave me like this... Please don't die... *sniffles harder*
Trinity: *wipes tears from her eyes*
Ivan: *ashamed* We couldn't even catch him... If he wakes up, we'll fix things. If he doesn't, then we don't give up. *sighs*
