“New York is full of some many different ideologies, I love it there, there’s so much to do, so many people to meet, though there’s always the prejudice but that happens everywhere.” Alison’s smile faltered somewhat, she hated not being accepted, everybody deserved to be within limitations. “It seems a bit repetitive, ya’know, I like it to be a bit different because where I’m from there was strict schedules and I enjoy being carefree.”
“I was awake already, you don’t have to apologise though, if you ever need me, I’m here.” Alison told her, she wasn’t too good at comforting others, though she assumed holding her would help and it seemed to, she also wasn’t lying about being awake, walking around the school wore her out somewhat but seeing her friend in that state was more than enough to make her alert.
David was walking around getting to know the place, he had send his sister to join them so she could know more people like her but he was a bit worried so David decided to follow her and join them as well. “So….” He said out loud when he heard someone approaching. “What you guys do for fun around here?” He asked with a smile.
Alison’s classes for the day had finished, she didn’t know how she felt about that, on one hand she was happy that she’d completed her work, however, she was also unhappy that most of her day was over and she didn’t do much with it. That’s how she ended up outside, with her sketch book in her hand and bumping into somebody she had never met before. “If you ask different people they’ll say different things... I like to draw and take photographs, and watch TV, I have a pretty boring life you know, but I sometimes visit the city when I’m bored.”
“I don’t like being watched,” John spoke up, pausing in his punches against the dummy to glance around the space. “So, whoever it is, it’d be best if you come out and show yourself, cause I don’t plan on being too kind if I have to look for you.”
Alison had came out of her hiding spot, she didn’t know how he had detected her, she was silent and was about to leave before he’d spoken. “You’re the pyro guy right? The one can control fire.” Alison wasn’t sure why she was approaching him with conversation, she wasn’t usually this bold but finding someone with somewhat similar powers as her was strange. “I’m Magma - I mean I control it, like you do with fire but I’m not too sure how to work it completely.”

“Sword fighting? Perhaps I will see you fight someday.” It was suppose to be encouraging, but due to the circumstances, it most likely wasn’t wise to say. “I have explored all rooms that are known, even some that are kept secret. I am sure that the professor here has some rooms that I don’t know about, yet. But I am quite impressed with this place, he did a good job.” She mused as her eyes looked back out towards the grounds.
“It was custom to learn, where I’m from anyway, not many people expect me to pick up a sword and beat them.” Alison explained, it had happened before, only once though and it was more playful but she still beat them within a minute. “How long have you been here? You seem new and I haven’t seen you around much, though I don’t get out much that’s not the point.”
“Hold her still.” “Hold still!” Pain shot through her. “Stupid girl!” “Alright, we’re done.” “Run, Klara!” A gun shot.
Klara tossed and turned as nightmares plagued her. Every night she relived the trauma. The worst of her pain, the worst of her fear. They blurred together into a hellish landscape that she couldn’t escape. She was forced to endure restraint and experimentation and Alexei telling her to run as he was shot. Whimpers escaped her, filling the darkened room unbeknownst to her. If she’d known, she’d been embarrased to wake Alison, but she kept it to herself.

Alison could’t sleep - it was a rare occurrence when she did without having nightmares, so it was a surprise when she’d reentered her room to find Klara in a sleep which didn’t seem to be exactly the happiest, Alison knew she was having nightmares, it wasn’t hard to tell, she’d once been told she reacted like that when she did too. The only option Alison had was to embrace the girl and hope she woke up fine and soothed being in her arms. “Shhh, It’s alright, I’ve got you you’re safe with me.” Alison tried to calm her down, hopefully when Klara had woken up she wouldn’t go to attack Alison.

“Oh. Like неясный,” she guessed, knowing that the other girl wouldn’t exactly be able to tell her if she was correct. She nodded at the promise to show her what a volcano was one day. “What is your powers?” she asked, intrigued. She’d never met other mutants before coming here, and the other powers that could exist excited her as much as learning about the world she’d missed out on. “Oh. This house is that big?” she said, surprised.
“неясный?” Alison asked, she wasn’t too sure that she’d pronounced it correctly, she also didn’t understand what it meant, the language barrier was confusing but not too confusing for her, she could cope with it. “I’m basically magma, like really warm and control the ground because well volcanoes are magma.” Alison explained, though she’d probably have to get a textbook at one point and try and help educate Klara, “Very big, it houses a lot of people - not that it’s a bad thing, it’s just weird having two schools here.”

Klara nodded, still not sure she understood. “Blur?” she asked, not recognising the word and feeling like that was integral to understanding. “Volcano?” She knew forests, she’d seen those. But a volcano was a new concept. “I think warm is more nice,” she agreed. It was pleasing to hear that Alison liked it here. It bode well for her. “You have family here?”
“My memories are unclear, I can’t remember them in order.” Alison explained hoping the girl would understand her rewording, though she didn’t know if it would help or hinder her in the process. “A volcano is not something I can describe... My powers came from it though... I’ll show you one day.” Alison suggested, she had never really shown off her mutation, mostly because it was somewhat difficult to control. However, the next question threw her off, she didn’t know how to respond, oh yeah, my grandma is here but she threw me in a lava pit so we don’t really talk much. “Uh... Yeah but we don’t see each other much.”

Cocking her head, Zarda raises her eyebrows. “Then I am impressed. You walk light for someone who isn’t sneaking, imagine if you were.” She voices her thought, as she turns away from her position. Her own steps feathery light, despite her clunky combat boots. “Do you sometimes walk the entire building to tire your feet?” The princess questions, a smile resting on her face. Back home it was different, even all this time later she would still compare this Earth to her Earth.
Alison was shocked she wasn’t in trouble, most teachers would escort her back to her room and remind her that she shouldn’t wonder without a purpose. “I suppose I learned something from sword fighting, I was always told not to stomp on the ground.” Alison explained. “Only when I can’t sleep or I’m bored, you learn new things about the building all the time, especially the places where I never seem to go during the day.”

Klara didn’t quite understand. How could a place not be real any more? Perhaps she’d misheard. “You liked it there?” she asked instead, not wanting to admit her lack of understanding. “Russia is… cold,” she replied. Most of her experience with it had been rather cold after all. How could she begin to explain that she didn’t know what it was like really. “You like it here?” she asked after a pause.
Alison had forgotten about the language barrier for a second, most people who spoke English didn’t understand it, never mind somebody who wasn’t fluent in the language. “It was really nice, from what I remember... Most things blur together.” She explained, hoping that she at least understood that, “Nova Roma was warm, we had volcanoes and a forrest, I don’t think I’d like the cold that much.” Alison replied, sure New York wasn’t as warm as she was used to but it was much better. “I like it much more than anywhere else I’ve been... It’s good to have people like us here.”

“oh my gosh, can we?! i wanna see one soooo bad. it’s like my soul, but put into an animal. it’s my soul animal.” the term they’re looking for is spirit animal, but given the fact they can’t think much right now, soul animal’s going to have to work. oh well. “oh geez, are you alright? like, your head and everything, do you feel okay?” aurora’s worried, concern taking over their voice.
“Oh my gosh we should go in Summer, they can’t keep us here all summer. Can they? Because if they do it’s totally unfair and would ruin our future plans.” Alison complained, she didn’t agree about the unicorn being her soul animal though, hers was more of a butterfly. “Oh yeah I’m totally fine, I just stayed in my room for a few days but I’m so happy you’re alright, I was so worried and I couldn’t come and see you.” Alison’s happiness to see her friend wasn’t completely conveyed in her words, after the traumatic incident, she’s still in shock and feeling quite unsafe but she was a lot happier that her friend was in a better mental state than her.

“well yeah, but you were scared, i wouldn’t have blamed you if you just ran off. plus i had just killed a dude, i know not many people tend to like that.” ryker shrugs, wincing as he tries to move around on the couch to get comfortable and hits his arm on the side of the couch, breathing deeply through his teeth to distract himself. “i dunno, hopefully. i think they’re just gonna expect me to do homework, ‘cause, ya know, that’s school for you. you paint? what d’you usually paint? like, scenery, people, etc.”
“There’s worse things to do to people than kill them, you could push them into a lava pit then watch them burn, hear their agonising screams and do nothing, so maybe I’m more inclined to help because there’s always worse things out there.” Alison explained, sitting next to him, she hadn’t done so before now due to being unsure if he’d want her to stay. “School’s dumb then, not that I didn’t already know that but where I’m from we’re homeschooled but it’s a bit old, and they taught us Latin, who on earth speaks Latin? A bit of both really - I like painting scenery more though - mostly trees and lakes and the sky. I also love cool tones, because they show up better on my skin when I don’t have paper.”
