AHH I AGREE ;v; the tag is waayyYYY too quiet. It's totally too underrated ;m; being published by Atlus with limited printing doesn't help it at all! (Atlus did an amazing job though, definitely)

Man, I never noticed the connection with Igor, but yeah, they do look alike! (Now I see Heiss going 'personapersonapersona, sociallinksociallinksocialiiiiiiink!)

I'm happy to know I was not the only one woobiefying Heiss lololol and crying in the ending because of him. In my headcanon, in his youth he was this kind of loser/loner guy who stood in the shadows muttering about how he hated everyone and everything and then Ernst and Eruca would go to him and be like 'yay uncle' and he would dissolve in a puddle of mushy deredere-ness (I kind of imagine him being struck with the 'weak!' icon from Persona everytime Ernst and Eruca would pop up and they would be like 'no! uncle fell to the ground again!').

And then there's this part in the ending where Stocke goes 'lol, dude, your life sucked because you loved nobody', I only wanted to go inside my DS and whack him behind the head. Everything Heiss does in the ending pretty much screams 'STOCKE. NO. I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME, STOCKE. YOU'RE ALL THAT I HAVE LEFT IN THE WORLD.' But then again, Stocke seems to have trouble understanding that people actually do care about him (see : him being completely oblivious to Raynie's tsundere-ness).

But then, that oblivious-to-love-ness + his utter gooey center of mush make him a pretty endearing character. I agree that sometimes the 'ImmaLoner' type of character can be grating (it is to me at least), but when they're done like Stocke (like you understand it's because they just have trouble expressing themselves and they're afraid to lose the people they love), they often become my favorite. I know a lot of people like this (my brother is pretty Stocke-ish for example) and I all <3 them dearly so I'm always happy to see these kinds of characters done right. They feel very lifelike to me.

(PS: I shall keep silent about Persona, because every time I open my mouth about it, I keep going for hours and hours. My friends and I love these games so much we all chose arcana for one another. Damn, does that sound dorky D8)

SOBS I really thought of Heiss the same way?? Like probably some cynical dude who was like "yo my bro's such a jerk and also a terrible king, why is this happening, this is terrible, I'm gonna sulk and be angry" but then Ernst and Eruca are just like "NO DON'T BE ANGRY WE ARE ADORABLE" and stuff.

Towards the end it just really broke my heart because Heiss wanted SO BADLY for Stocke to see things his way, and that was what Heiss had dedicated his life to, and how many times he must've broken history over and over because he really thought he was doing it for Stocke's own good.

And then STOCKE who was just so well done, gosh. Stoic characters who are too cool for friends always annoyed me. Or maybe not annoyed but like... they are boring, I guess? Like. Oh god. Squall from Final Fantasy I just-- fKFSHGDfd. He is an extreme example, but they just feel so... flat. "UHUH I'M A COOL GUY. I DON'T NEED FRIENDS. I CAN DO IT MYSELF. I'm apathetic and I don't care. I'll act like an asshole because I DO WHAT I WANT!!!!" sometimes I wish I could just. Go into the video game and knock them upside the head and then bump them off a cliff :I

I agree that loner characters who are well-done really steal my heart, though ;v;. Stocke was very well fleshed-out in that sense, because at no time did his loner-ness feel forced. And he readily admits that he really cherishes the friends he made.

Speaking of Raynie, her confession scene made me laugh so hard. It was so cute.

"So there's this friend I know. He's kinda reckless. What should I do?" "You should tell him how you feel." "Word, man. I love you." "Wat."

They all so totally have a crush on him. Hell, the storylines of some of the characters kind of depend on them loving Stocke way too much (I'm side-eyeing Eruca, Aht and Heiss so hard here).

Haha, Heiss is like my second favorite character (after Stocke, and then it's Eruca), but his design is... er... bizarre at the least. I remember loling quite a bit the first time we see him in the game ('That's my boss?! Am I supposed to thrust him or something?!). He's a great foil to Stocke and I wonder quite a bit what happened to him in his backstory to make him so insanely misanthropic. I wish we could have at least one flashback with him and the royal kiddies...

And, um, I love how you did Stocke's expression in your drawing. I also imagined him making that kind of face during the ending, in fact, that's probably about the only time he acted so sweet, he spends so much of the game being a stoic badass. The party + Heiss were probably like ;A; when they saw Stocke looking at them like that...

I was so used to everyone loving Stocke so that one bad end with Marco came completely out of left-field to me.

OH GOSH when we first meet Heiss right at the beginning I was like 'oh it's Persona-Igor's probably evil younger brother or something omg'.

I KNOOOW he was such a great villain/anti-hero/whatever he counts as and in the true end I was like /SOB NO HEISS because he hated the world so much but he did it because you could tell that he really cared for the royal kiddies (or Stocke, at the very least) and just. He was so much more of a parent to Stocke than the king/queen ever was.

Man, I think that was my favorite part of Stocke, is how he's kind of clumsy with his emotions and actions, because you can tell that he really cares about people! He just doesn't really know how to express it. My first thoughts when I started up RH was "oh great another emo dude who's like I'M SO COOL I DON'T NEED FRIENDS" and then it turns out it's not that he doesn't need friends, but that he's afraid of losing people because he cares so much?!

(YES more people need to know about RH ; 3; I liked it so much! I wasn't expecting too much out of it, but it was just such a fantastic little JRPG! Also I see that you are a Persona fan and that makes me really happy too ehehEH <3)

Ahhh I’m really glad you thought of the ending. I kinda had that in mind when I drew it ; w ;. I really love bittersweet endings and I’m kind of a huge sap so the ending of RH pretty much made me a big bloobly teary mess ; 3 ;
