i got home today and found out about syria. i cannot watch the news without crying. my heart aches for my innocent brothers and sisters in syria and around the world. my heart cannot handle seeing children suffer, they are so young, there is so much they haven’t seen yet. something i wish children could never see is violence.. hatred.. war.

i see the adults running to help each other amongst the chaos.. finding each other.. holding each other.. comforting each other. after seeing this, i find something else i can’t handle. i cannot handle seeing this because they’re children too. two brothers ran to each other and hugged each other.. they’re grown men, but i see two children running to each other.

imagine how they’ve known each other since birth and all they’ve been through together… imagine how all their efforts to get through life led to today. imagine losing other people you love.. imagine losing everyone else in your family. it’s not fair. i understand countries make statements with violent acts, but why put innocent people through the conflict of the powerful few? something like the air strikes could easily happen to you or loved ones at any time, do not stand idly as the rest of the world suffers. do not wait until it hits home. love one another. war is over, if you want it.
